General Stock Discussion / Re: Is $1000/months a big amount?
« on: July 07, 2017, 00:48 »
I have about 3000 files mixing with graphic vectors and jpg, photos, and videos.

I got about 2000-2600 per month starting in 2012.

But I don't upload still images for about 5 months now. Just using them as passive income.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Sales stopped at Videoblocks?
« on: March 03, 2017, 11:37 »
Just got my first sale of the month. Happy days. Hopefully I'll get another nine in the six remaining days of the month! Won't hold my breath though.

Can you please tell me how many downloads you get at Videoblocks per month?

For me I get around 3-8 downloads per month... but this month (Feb) get 4 until now ... all with 44.8$ per download (never get 4k though).

I make animations.

For the last six months or so, it's been pretty consistent with 10 or 11 downloads per month, with one month where there was five. Just one so far this month.

Thanks for sharing :D

Can you please tell me how much you got from video sales at Pond5 per month?
and is it really possoble to get 5000$ per month for video sales at Pond5??
Thanks

Yes, absolutely. I would say that Axiomimages, Blendimages, Hotelfoxtrot, Wavebreakmedia, Rickray, Skyworksrf etc. all make around $10,000-30,000 per month from Pond5 alone. Naturally, most authors will make much less, but there is great potential.

็ีHuge thanks!!

This motivate me so much.

The new one is nice but it update only once at the beginning of the new day. I want it real time.

Thanks for the info!

May I ask which type of content do you sell in VB, footage from camera or motion graphic animations?

Pond5 / Re: No sales at pond5: over 3 years now

There are many, many, many authors meeting $100 every month on Pond5, believe me. $5,000+ is not that uncommon. Yes, you most likely need 500+ video clips or quality music for that though.

They sell footage for millions each month but of course, there are quite a few clips so if you're new with a small portfolio it's hard to be seen.

Sales create more sales and new stuff isn't too visible in the search engine. But after a few years when you have high ranking stuff the sales can really roll in. It takes time.

Got 150-230$ per months with about 500 videos, just being a contributor 6 months ago and suffered from 2 moths review.

The sales are unpredictable but I hope that it should do better than this.

Hi,

I just heard someone said long ago that they got 1-2 downloads for video each day so they get about 2000$ per month.
While another one said that he got 10-20 downloads per day and mostly in Shutterstock.

So I would like to hear from you guys that is it possible to have over 10 downloads per day in stock video industry? and what is the highest download per day (or per month) that ever exists? Is stock business got enough potential to create this amount of income?

Thank you for sharing  :)

Pond5 / Re: Is setting 80$ for a 4k video is too high?
« on: March 12, 2016, 11:58 »
I set my 4k video price for about 60-85$ because I don't want to undercut my price with other agencies such as ss, fotolia, anf 123rf.
But you ARE undercutting your price with the other agencies. $60 to $85 is a good price for HD. 4K is selling for $130 to $199 on the other 3 agencies you mentioned.

I increase my price now. But after checking other footages all over the site, they are full of low-price cutting clips.  :-\

Thank you for every reply! I will raise my prize immediately  ;D

Just another question, how is Pond5 sales compare to Shutterstock in term of quantity?

Thanks

Pond5 / Is setting 80$ for a 4k video is too high?
« on: March 07, 2016, 01:40 »
Hi, my first batch of my footages of 160 clips just have been approve... but no sales at all for almost 2 weeks.

I set my 4k video price for about 60-85$ because I don't want to undercut my price with other agencies such as ss, fotolia, anf 123rf.

So I wonder that is my price is too high?

Any suggestions and comment will be appreciate, thanks.

ps. by the way my footage are animations (motion graphic).

Adobe Stock / Re: Adobe Stock now selling video
« on: December 03, 2015, 12:10 »
Thank you Adobe for making Fotolia a better place.

20
I have about 2600 images on my port.
about 800 are photographs and 1800 are vectors and illustration (jpg).

I got about 40-60 downloads per day.
You have to continue to upload great quality images constantly to get better earning and one of my top sales got about 1-5 downloads a day for 3 years now.

« on: November 23, 2015, 23:43 »
I will stop upload there now...

This place got the most "refund" for every high earning for me.

Apart from that I almost got 99% sub.

Good bye Deposite photo.

If I got gold rank at Fotolia maybe my earning will bw able to match SS.

Just can't wait to get gold rank!

I am very happy with Adobe takeover!

Why dont you guys write something On the SS forums. they dont think we care. They don't come here that much Guys.
I haven't been able to get on the forum in months - every since they changed it I get errors. (I'm on Firefox) Wish I knew what was going on over there.

I have the same problem before. All you have to do is click "sign in" on the top-right corner of the forum page and you will be able to get in each section.  :)

It will be on Google for free. That's the real problem.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but in order to see the big watermark preview, you have to be signed into shutterstock where the company knows who you are. Are you guys worried that registered buyers or contributors on this site will take time out to cover up and steal your images? I'm probably gonna get flamed but i think theres a bit of over reaction going on over here.
I am one of those that get really irritated by seeing obnoxious watermarks. At some point it really starts to affect the image and i think thats a fine line that is different depending on who you ask.
HOWEVER, I do believe that they have to make the watermark better for the vectors and photos that is mainly flat shapes as that is real simple to level out in photoshop.

The support reply me back by saying there is no plan of improving another watermark.... and when I ask them the time when the new watermark will change over the old one in my portfolio (which they say all will be finish this weekend), they say that they can not pin point the date because the process is complicate.

By the way, the latest version of watermark completely giveaway my vector icon and illustration for free.  >:(
