I can't believe, with all their website issues, they have once again "fixed" something that was not broken and was easy to use. Are they hiring away all the staff at iStock?

Is everyone else seeing the new "Filters" button at the top left of image search pages? The default seems to be "newest," meaning that unless buyers notice the new button and think to click it for more options, they'll never see the most popular images.
I'm expecting an even faster decline in sales thanks to this new "improvement."

I'm suddenly having to navigate through a new interface to find my daily sales stats. They're hidden from the main dashboard. Anyone else, or did I click something strange?

One whole extra penny for a single sale rather than a subscription sale. Yay.
SS continues its sad decline.

I'm surprised when I see folks here saying they've gotten decent gigs from clients through stock sites. I only seem to get requests from people either wanting a discount on SS prices or custom work for pennies.
I promised myself I wouldn't respond to these people any more, but over the past couple of days I've been emailing back and forth with someone who seems to be from a legit marketing company (I'm not familiar with companies in the UK) to see if it would pan out. She asked for my rates. I asked for their budget. They don't have a budget, she says (yeah, sure...we always spent whatever we wanted in ad agencies, lol). So I quote her a very reasonable price for non-exclusive licensing, and sure enough she comes back with some hogwash about paying other illustrators 1/10 of what I'm asking for exclusive rights to amazing, high-quality illustrations (not cr@p like mine...gotcha).
I politely explained that in my work as a Creative Director we've paid illustrators ten times what I was asking, and we've paid millions to license music (we once negotiated a Boston song for the incredibly low price of $250,000 for limited usage).
I guess as soon as they say they have no budget I should just say best of luck.
I think I'll go back to not responding.

Happened last night. (Everyone's OK.) Think I can make some money from editorial images? Lol. I'd just like, as a public service, to let everyone know that small planes are extremely dangerous. In the U.S. they crash several times a day, with fatal crashes about 5 times a week. There's a saying that you're more likely to die in a car on the way to the airport than on a plane, but that saying only applies to large jetliners, which are extremely safe. Small planes (general aviation) account for 90% of air travel fatalities in the U.S. In addition, they're one of the last forms of transportation to run on leaded gas (avgas), which has levels of lead 8 times higher than the leaded gasoline banned for use in cars. In fact, small planes contribute half the lead in he atmosphere. This pilot had just filled his balsa-wood-and-papier-mache plane with lots of leaded gasoline, which all poured out into my front yard, where it will enter the water table. We've been warned not to drink our water (we have wells). The plane missed my house by just a few yards, snapping branches off my trees as it traveled down my driveway and crashed into a stand of trees near the street. The pilot is from Texas, so I suppose I should feel honored that he flew all he way to my yard in New Jersey to crash.

My subs numbers are bouncing all over the place...one second there's one number and the next there's a number much lower. If I try to click through the subs pages to see my DLs page 3 will just disappear, along with all the sales reported on it.
Is that new IT guy ready to spend more time with his family yet?

This was from a FB post by SS about their most viral photos. So these photos were shared like crazy on social media (I'm assuming with no compensation), and now there's a link to these large unwatermarked versions of the photos on the site for people to steal freely. I understand they can use our images for marketing purposes, but I don't get why they would make large unwatermarked versions available. I hope these photographers were compensated somehow, or got an uptick in DLs, or something out of SS giving their images away. https://www.shutterstock.com/blog/viral-photos-2016?utm_content=viralimages2016&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=blog&utm_source=fbk

So, today's the deadline, and as my Christmas gift to myself I'm requesting they close my account. No reason to wait and see my royalties drop or to wonder whether they'll try to steal my sales from other sitesthose are givens.
When a door closes a window opens. Let's hope it's a very small door and a very large window.

Ok folks, we've seen that a petition can be effective. It's time for a petition to Getty. But we need everyone's input (anyone can write a petition, of course).
It's important that we keep the "ask" simple and send it to the right person. IMO we should simply request that Getty keep its current royalty structure and not reduce our subs royalties by 93% beginning November 25th, at the height of the holiday season.
What do you think?
Who should we address the petition to? Someone high up at Getty.

Some of my images have been disappearing from my port and are missing in the search results, then reappearing, but have "this image doesn't exist" messages when you click on them. Anyone else?

So, after stealing who knows how many of my vectors and giving them away for free for years, Freepik now has the unmitigated gall to email me and offer to buy my vectors.
They mumbled something about compensation back when i caught them and got SS to tell them to remove my images, but not a penny has been forthcoming.
These people are scum, folks. I'll continue to remind everyone.
Scum.

My sales today seem to have completely stopped after about 1 AM. And the sales map stopped popping up new sales even earlier, showing sales I made sometime yesterday.
I'm hoping I'm not the only one...and it's just a glitch?
