"Today, however, the two sides announced a new partnership 'to develop image-rich, compelling products and services for Microsoft products like Bing and Cortana using Getty Images world class imagery.' The companies will partner 'to provide real-time access to Getty Images imagery and associated metadata to enhance the Microsoft user experience.' I have no idea what this means for Getty/iS contributors. But why do I assume it's bad news? http://www.geekwire.com/2015/microsoft-and-getty-images-end-dispute-over-bing-photo-tool-ink-new-partnership/

Hi guys,
Is it possible for a jpg to have layers when you open it in Photoshop? I'm clueless because I work in Illustrator. A customer is upset that a jpg she bought doesn't have layers. I though jpg just compressed everything into one flat layer?

Just got the email about revising titles and descriptions of all my images (boy, does that sound like a lot of work to no end). I click on the first example they give of a rewritten description, which describes a little boy playing with "figurines," but there are no figurines in the image....unless Canadians consider toy houses and cars figurines? "A figurine (a diminutive form of the word figure) is a statuette that represents a human, deity or animal."
They give me a headache.
*Sigh*

Now when I sign in I see a red-bannered offer to buy credits for $12 each or 3 for $33. Weren't the new lower credit prices on par with Shutterstock before...about $14.50 each as an entry point?

Just so you don't waste your time trying. They're aware of it and working on it.

Around lunchtime today my sales simply stopped completely. Usually I'd have at least 15-20 additional sales by now. Anyone else, or is this just a very very odd day for me?

This tends to get buried in the longer threads. Let's keep the momentum going and continuing the opt-out! Go to your Contributor page. Under My Account, select My Profile ( https://us.fotolia.com/Member/Modify). Select Contributor Parameters ( https://us.fotolia.com/Member/Modify/Contributor). Find Sell my files on DPC and click Modify. And, from another contributor: "Then check that where you ticked actually says, "do not share on DPC". It's one of those sneaky buttons that if you press it again it will revert to share." after clicking Modify you need to "Save parameters" at the bottom of the page. Otherwise the changes will not stick.

Ths is the first time I've seen a call for reels in the NY Times: If you are a motion animator or illustrator and would like to create a video for the Modern Love animated monthly series, please e-mail your sample reel and contact information to [email protected].

That's how long it took iStock's website to show me the status of my recently uploaded (and not inspected for five days now) files. It's like the stone age. What's up with their IT department? Do they have any clue how much that dissuades people from uploading?
