100% of 0 for me also...credit sales have been diminishing for a long time...Subscription is making the decline faster. I wish subs were reported in real-time, however I am only exclusive to video so I guess subs won't matter.

Considering I haven't had credit sale at iStock in days tomorrow looks to be a bust already

I've done non-paid work for non profits. I tell myself it is for a good cause, but I often find it that 'free' clients tend to be the pickiest...which seems backwards. There has been several occasions when I finished said work not feeling particularly appreciated. Now giving an image away that is out there for sale, typically I'd say no, unless I felt there could be real exposure... Almost always never feel the latter.

With that said, I am still open to doing non-paid work if I feel the cause is good and if it's something I find interesting or can grow from

They have required a release for every one of my CG images and animations...the reviewers often say model realease, but they just want a screen shot and an explaination.

for CG work they require a release, basically a screenshot of the models in the 3d application and a line or two stating you created the models.

Excited to hear this. Only downside is I can sometimes go a few days without video sales...so it will be a crap shoot if someone purchases a video from me on that day. Fingers crossed.

I had a few questionable rejections, but they seem responsive and overturned them after I offered some justification. They may just be err on the side of caution.

Can you elaborate? Are the images stolen or is he using stock images to create the images he is selling?

61
For software I rely heavily on After Effects for composting, color grading and clean up, but use Premiere on occasion for editing longer footage and piecing multiple clips together.

62
No Getty sales here yet either (video exclusive)

63
Very strong PP sales here, I'm worried  ;D

64
Sorry brain fart...I realized these are March..duh... ::)

65
Are these Thinkstock sales only? Or are IS subscriptions included...if the former then they are on par, if the latter than they are awful :)

April sales are so far non-existent...maybe the subs? It's a shame they aren't being reported in real-time...so frustrating.

Why would he lie? I for appreciated this post and info.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Living from Stockphotography
« on: April 03, 2014, 18:10 »
In my best estimate I would need just shy of 10000 to be able to just get by only on stock. The main thing to be weary of is the lowering value of our images, making it that much harder to sustain a decent amount of income. I find videos to still have a decent return and they have been my main focus. Downside is they take up more time in editing and uploading. As of now I am happy with stock supplementing my income. I think the potential is there to earn a living with stock if you are willing to devote the majority of you time and able to squeeze by the first few years on peanuts. I think it is relevant to state I am in the US, and it might be easier in countries with lower costs of living.

YouTube some basic photography tutorials, if you don't grasp the concept of shallow depth of field, I can only assume you have a poor understanding of other aspects of photography as well. Mike Brown on YouTube has some excellent tutorials covering the basics. Also it might help to get in good with a local photographer, what they can teach you in person is priceless. You might even learn how to utilize and appreciate that blurry background :).

Have fun! All the best.

I don't know, but I would think she would be able to have and control her own account under her own social or tax ID.

Off Topic / Re: Windows XP Support Ends April 8th
« on: March 19, 2014, 20:33 »
I agree, Windows 8 isn't bad once you configure it to run more like 7. Gotta kill the apps and Windows Live login. I think having all that bloat, a lot of which was designed for touch displays, by default is why everyone h8tes 8. Just another poor attempt by Microsoft.

Images really don't sell on P5 from my experience. I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about it

I would say it is a shady place it is black-listed on my server as it provides anonymous dynamic DNS. P
