I am on most ever good stock site on this planet. I have around 2000 images. I am thinking about dropping some of the low or no earners. For me that would be, Stockfresh,Panther,Cutcaster, Most photos,Yay and Veer. Do you think any of these low earners have any future. thanks, Scott ... also what is low or no earner for you.
I just can't understand, why anybody still uploads to YAY. Apart from the bad commissions, sales have always been extremely poor. And I still remember how they tried to cheat us with the lowest cent amounts in the industry with this streaming model.

They need to make an explanation. Can they just vanish?
Still unavailable- so I would say, good bye Stockphotomedia. Good bye 3, xx Euro:-) :-(

snip...but I wonder in general how long "they" (in general not any specific "they") can keep squeezing before the content providers lose interest. If in fact they already haven't in some cases.
Agree absolutly!

I've noticed the same thing. I still had about 3 Euros there (my revenue of two years or so). I think Stock Photo Media was overripe for an end.

I can not imagine that Adobe can reduce prices on stock pictures much further. At the end they want to make money. And if they act aggressively and disrupt the stock market sensitive, then they will lose as a result not only contributors, but also those that rent PS Lightroom and Illustrator in the cloud. Photographers and graphic artists who produce for stock, are a part of Adobes clientele. Adobe must therefore perform a balancing act. But I think that could work. Maybe we will see an end of the price erosion, who knows? It could be the beginning of such a development.

Opinion piece:
Audio-Interview with Paul Melcher about Adobes Acquisition of Fotolia
Just to save some time for some people, I listened to the whole thing, and they don't discuss possible impact on contributors until 16 minutes in to the recording. And Mr. Struck seems very excited about having a large market place to sell his images but no discussion of possible cuts to contributor rates. To me, the main thing is what will I be paid per DL thru the Adobe platform. I don't really care about speculation of the impact on the financial markets or convenience to buyer experience unless it puts more money in my pockets.
So true!!

I am uploading daily 5-10 files to top tiers, but I've heard lot of people uploading batch 300+ files weekly, monthly etc. (sometimes in poor quality). Am I doing well, or not ?
Yes, you're doing well. In the end it's quality, that is more important than quantity.

First you should conrtact 123Rf in any case. Perhaps pepsi has bought your image and only the watermark is not removed.

Photographers using cracked copies of LR/PS, tremble and fear! They already have your ID, now they'll check the EXIF information and come and catch you.
I guess most of us professionals here have regular software licences, but what about some newbies/wannabe stock photographers?
The number of Gimp users will increase explosively

An answer is almost impossible. But one or two years ago I read here, that ca. 400 pictures in the portfolio should give an avarage of approximately 100 downloads per month. The amount of the payment, of course, depends on the status of the contributor.

Shutterstock payouts come as regular and reliable as a Swiss clockwork. I had no doubt that the payment would be made after the weekend. It really was not worth it, to open a thread about this special topic here. Other agencies need almost 2 months to send money (Panthermedia for example).

people hate Mercedes just because they can't afford 'em
I don't think so. Mercedes is somehow old-fashioned and definitely not as reliable as Japanese cars. Personally, I would prefer a Volvo at any time.

8000$ bucks is just for the camera, have fun buying a couple other Leica lenses for up to 10000$ like the Noctilux or the Summicron !
and good luck doing street photography with 20000$ of gear on your neck in any third world country, not to mention the manual focus lenses and the whole idiotic concept of using a rangefinder in 2014 !!
It's the "brand" you have to pay for, if you would be so stupid. I would never buy a Mercedes Benz or BMW. My old Toyota drives more reliable than any expensive brand car

Glass corrosion is a phenomenon that is well known among archaeologists, for example ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glass_disease). The change in the glass primarily depending on how the glass is composed. However, cleaning with alcohol should not cause any problems, especially at such a young glass like in modern lenses. When something like this happens, Leica should replace the lenses without extra cost for the photographer.

@disorderly @roede-orm
just do a selftest
Roede-Orm, you are european, right? And do you sell also over other agencies? Do these other agencies ask for a credit like "[email protected]" or something similar?
These three things are the requrements to make a sucessfull self test. If you dare to do one, let me know and i will tell you what to do. Then you will have the proof very soon ....
Do you think i am so stupid to give SS the chance to check my identity if they threatened me several times with getting booted if i dont shut up and still work on their "cotton-fields" for peanuts?
I have very different experiences with Shutterstock. Once, three years ago, SS admonished me that I should choose the keywords more carefully. The mail was formulated very friendly. Yes, they pay peanuts, but often (in my case) even ELs. At the end of the month they pay me more than any other agency. Really, I do not understand your problem with Shutterstock. And no one is forced to deal with Shutterstock.

I have no sales at 123rf in December. This month started well on other agencies and I expected the same over there. It looks like they are dead or something.
First I got shocked. December! Did I miss something? But the month has just begun! So what! You can make conclusions in January, everything else makes no sense!
