Scam is the right word for it! What have a standard puchase to do with any subscription? I'm afraid, thats the peak of an iceberg!

DepositPhotos / Re: The German Shotshop Reseller of DepositPhotos
« on: February 12, 2014, 04:01 »
The well-known German stock photographer Robert Kneschke has tested it now: For a standard image purchase via Shotshop to the relatively high prices, the photographer only gets the price of a subscription sale from DepositPhotos! >:(

Through a hint of a photographer I found my entire Depositphotos port on the German Agency Shotshop. Shotshop seems to be a reseller of DP. All who offer directly to Shotshop have now often the same images twice at Shotshop. The problem is - they are also available at different prices! If I would buy a photo from the Depositphotos portfolio in XLLarge-VP at ShotShop, I would pay 19,90 . Don't know, what earnings you get from DP, for me it's mostly cent amounts or sometimes 2, xx dollars. The profit margin of DP must be better than margins of Istock. And there is no opt out option! For me this is a reason to cancel both DP and Shotshop.

But you can always save your work as a TIFF file with layers.

Compared to a classic painting  a photo features (assuming it is well focused) more sharpness. But still classic paintings can also show  many details accentuated. And portrait photography with, for example, a Nikon D800, a 105s f 2.8 lens can look so sharp that they just do not work well. So I think sharpness is a relative size.

Done - again :)

Had  two sales there in 2012, via Zoonar. Each sale made 50 Euro.

Newbie Discussion / Re: Best noise reduction program

Don't agree. Sometimes noise is unavoidable. In summer, when the camera is warm, for example. Even long exposure may cause noise.

Dfine from NIK Software, beacause they have this really good U-Point technology, so I can reduce noise exactly where it is necessary (if it is ever necessary).

Hm, 36 x optical zoom (Astro Zoom)  sounds good for - nothing 8)

For security reasons you should completely erase this thread and ask your question in general without details in a new thread. And, like Colette, I would advise you, change all your password in all agencies as soon as possible!!!
As far as I know it's inpossible  to change a user name in most agencies.

Got me inspired so I wanted to share!
Thank you for sharing these links, really wonderful pictures!

Adobe Stock / Re: Fotolia Launches Dollar Photo Club?
« on: January 15, 2014, 16:31 »
That article talks about the "club" being exclusive - because who wants those overused RF images - but then says they'll have 25 million images. Where are they going to get 25 million exclusive images?
Was wondering the same!

Sean, if you in Shutterstock follow the link "your image gallery" you will see, what we talk about. Shutterstock changed the design of the image gallery.

Yeah, looks much better! I like it too! However, reminds me of the portfolio page of Mostphotos.

"Limited Extended" sounds generally very interesting, right? I would suggest an alternative: "limited unlimited"  :P

I think this is a good decision. And it will benefit everyone, because Sean's good imagery will draw more customers to Shutterstock. I wish you good luck!

It makes me wonder if this YAY streaming model actually does not violate the Norwegian copyright law, as a control of possible injury is completely excluded.

How many times a place is photographed doesn't says anything about the quality of the photos.

If you truly intend to go through with this plan, I sincerely hope you are soon out of business. .
It's just a question of time, I hope.

It isn't that surprising that a small site is trying to carve out a market by whatever means.  The surprising thing is the amount of people that seem to be submitting there.
Agree. But there are still small agencies that pay decent prices. I have in a year for example at Zoonar or Phopress more sales than I ever had at YAY. And Phopress for example not even appeared on the poll results list.
