Adobe Stock / Re: keywording announcement - Fotolia
« on: April 27, 2013, 10:05 »
did everyone get the email about keywording?

This email is related in any way to the conversion of the relevance search some days ago. For most of you this has have no meaning, but for those that keywording in German for example , this change is a disaster. Revenues went down 50 %, often more, from one day to another. There are discussions of this issue in the German Fotolia Forum and the German Stock Photography forum.

I wish them well.
Of course, I wish them well too. But I think the concept is pretty weak. The big agencies offer good macro shots at low prices too. And before a noticeable effect is achieved, you have to upload a larger amount of pictures. This costs time, which would otherwise certainly brings revenue. Therefore, I doubt if that will work. And I also think you can not start at 0 - or 0 + x. It would be interesting to know how many images are already available at the agency at the moment. rde-orm

Well written, I agree with CD123.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Travel photography Sales
« on: April 23, 2013, 17:39 »
Ask yourself, what are you dreaming off, when you get the chance to travel: empty beaches? modern cities? shopping malls? untouched nature? fantastic landscapes? Even other people dream of these things. And we sell dreams! If your pictures match your own dreams, they will sell. One of my best selling images is a photo of a simple wooden cottage in Sweden  in a beautiful scandinavian landscape. It's a dream for many people, to own a house like this in a peaceful landscape. And they buy at least the photo :-) Good luck with your travel pictures!

... it is a lot better with 1000 sales paying 0.10 than 10 sales paying 1.

As if Yay would sell 1000 licenses of a photo! My advice to the YAY-people: get yourself a camera, then produces photos and then sells them to your own prices, but without me >:(

There is a Google Image search plug-in for Firefox - perhaps that's what sjlocke was referring to.
I recommend the "Who stole my picture" plug in for Firefox, which allows the search in different search engines (incl. Google). regards, rde-orm

Bigstock.com / Re: Who is getting 27 subs? Are you staying?
« on: March 15, 2013, 13:23 »
I sent them a message from the "delete your account" page.  My account was totally gone within 14 hours without even a thank-you-very-much for that free 50 cents they kept.   :o
Can't find the "delete your account page" ???  Where the page is hidden?

Adobe Stock / Re: Crazy rejection of 150 images from Fotolia
« on: March 05, 2013, 17:17 »
its FT, believe you never submitted much there or you would know already, they never were or will be travel oriented, if you want success in FT its people, isolations and lets say food
I have other experiences. I sell similar photos of old houses in Sweden on Fotolia, and the motives are selling well.  Maybe the images were rejected because no PR is available? Regards, rde-orm

Panthermedia.net / Re: Ultimago-Earn money with free images
« on: February 21, 2013, 16:23 »
I Never, never, never, never and ever understood why give free photos should be a great self marketing. Those who download free photos even look the name of the photographer and never seek pictures to buy. Who took a photo for free yesterday, today takes a photo for free, that's all.
Free picture is popular because is free and not, for the name of the photographer that don't care to anyone.
Next email: if you give us 10$ we sell your photo for 8$, but it is a great satisfaction to know that your work is on the net and not in your HD, you'll be an artist.
In the German Forum of panthermedia the users have the same opinion. The whole project is suspect

Adobe Stock / Re: Keyword spamming at Fotolia
« on: February 21, 2013, 13:57 »
Most spam produce the automatic translation function on Fotolia  (and at other agencies as well). As a native German speaker, I write my keywords on Fotolia in German - sometimes the translator generates absolute nonsense.

Just a few downloads, less than 50 on Bigstock.

The more I let go, the less stressed I am, the better I feel and funnily enough, the more income I make from my images.

Really? How does it work?

Any risk for uploading problems (Filezilla) when I change to LR? I dont think so as the files still are on my HD (LR just handles them).
There's no risk att all. LR can be a little strange to begin, the file management is different from other programs. You wlll find out sometimes in future, that you will need even PS for the final finish of your pictures.
Hope, I will see more of your fine pictures from land on MostPhotos!
