most of my pictures uploaded after Fotolia's Dollar Club and IS Google deals are exclusive in SS. But I would never work exclusively as an artist

I think i've said this before but i'll say it again. I tend to think if the country can monetize off its content creators in the form of taxes and such, they will have laws that will protect or enforce copyright holders/violators. I don't think china has laws protecting content creators because china doesn't benefit from it... yet
what is bothering me that they selling products with my picture on, through alibaba to anywhere in the world , I care less about them selling in china

Look at this "Image library" (you can click randomly or do it through Google translate) http://images.lib.cycu.edu.tw/index.php?controller=client&action=entryListit is full of stock pictures. I found it occasionally searching for my popular illustration use . What can be done about it? Probably some contributors from there are participating in this forum and can give some advice? Similar story is famous alibaba site. They formally have English interface and have some procedure to complain about copyright but way it is implemented make it practical impossible. I tried to contact vendors which are selling items with my pictures directly, but they just sending me smiles and asking to send them more pictures. It makes me angry a bit. Any positive experience?

print limits ?? that's a non issue, in a few years the printed newspapers will disappear.
the same way as movie theaters disappeared after VHS introduction? but who knows . So I am not voting your post down

what is [not] surprising me, that the topic is all over internet and it is kind of news of the day. It shouldn't be. It makes us a society of dumb monkeys.

I guess we can expect more cheap but massive "Google-deals" soon which will bring Getty some immediate cash in a short run

E.g. it might work like this: as a buyer you get an illustration from Fotolia to use on your website but it is really served from Adobe's servers (the way webfonts are). That means that if you stop your subscription to CC, the illustration disappears from your website. This could conceivably open up new kinds Rights Management. E.g. if you subscribe to Fotolia you get images to use, but only on a limited number of websites, and if you stop paying for the subscription you lose the images.
the big question what author will get. I 've seen already 20 cents payments from Getty's "Premium Access" deals

another SEO suggestion to IS: ask photographer to provide alternative descriptions for different holidays: halloween , xmas, valentine etc.

I find it hard to believe that this would have a significant impact on sales.
but in can help IS look more unique in google "eyes"

What do you mean unique and detailed?
as per IS : Bad description: "Boy on a beach with dog" Good description: "An adorable little boy and dog build a sandcastle together on the beach off the cost of Oregon. (And the playful dog destroys the castle with his paw!) Shot with Canon 20D , ISO 100, heavy processing for retro bleached look, slight vingette added."

Google image search easily brings those pictures on other stock sites. but I guess it will not be sustainable for IS to run such search before image approval

the name of the topic is misleading can it be renamed (or at least year 2013 added)

I am wondering if there is a way to trigger some official (government?) audit of IS

Anyone else have any interesting/weird/funny buyout request stories?
no buyouts stories from me but I've seen plenty of logos using fully or partially my vectors. Usually those are small businesses or organizations. I am not going after them but can imagine them coming to me and asking to remove "their" "custom made" designs.

There's something seriously wrong with the results
If "View results" would bring results without voting we may get better results but much less votes
