Hi!

Take a look at:
http://submit.shutterstock.com/stats.mhtml

Your "current balance" does not change until shutterstock actually paypals you the money (in a few days).

Is it showing your current balance correctly?

Thanks,
Michael

Hi Hospitalera,

many thanks for using microstock monitor. Even more thanks for catching that bug.

There is an updated version at:
http://microstockmonitor.unfolded.com/index.php?pr=Downloads

Can you please download it and report back if it fixes the problem?

If it fixes the problem I'll update the website accordingly and announce the new version.

Many thanks,
Michael

All the best,

Hi all,

there is a new release of Microstock Monitor available at:
http://microstockmonitor.unfolded.com/index.php?pr=Downloads

I'm quite happy to report that I could strike a deal with the new Geckostock (http://www.geckostock.co.uk/?ID=333&name=daneel) agency. In exchange for a link from their website, I included them into Microstock Monitor.

I think this is a win-win situation:
1) More users for Microstock Monitor which will ensure that I keep extending and maintaining it and
2) Easy monitoring of Geckostock stats (in addition to your other stock agencies) which might cause more users to sign up with Geckostock.

Are you representing a microstock agency which you would like to get listed in Microstock Monitor? Or are you representing an agency for which you would like to have enhanced support in Microstock Monitor? No problem, pass me an e-mail at [email protected] and we will talk about it!

For all other users of Microstock Monitor, if you have a website or blog, it would be awesome if you could write a few words about Microstock Monitor. The more users there are, the more time I will be able to spend for maintaining and enhancing Microstock Monitor.

Please also remember that Microstock Monitor is completely free software. If you like it, please consider to sign up with new agencies through the links provided on the website or in Microstock Monitor. This might give me a small compensation for my work through referal earnings.

I'm looking forward to your feedback.

All the best,
Michael

« on: June 07, 2007, 04:31 »
Hi!

These features are under development. As I implement Microstock Monitor in my free time, I cannot promise when they will become available.

That means: Your copy of Microstock Monitor is behaving as intended.

Microstock Monitor / Re: Microstock Watcher and Yahoo 4
« on: June 07, 2007, 04:28 »
Dear Marc,

I appreciate your post and at the same time I'm sorry to hear that Microstock Watcher will no longer be available.

As you can see, this forum is about the free Microstock Monitor software and not y about Microstock Watcher. Even so, maybe there are some Microstock Watcher users here who may appreciate your message. For this reason I will keep it in this forum, however please try to stay on topic in the future.

All the best,
Michael

Hi!

Can anyone explain why HDR increases the noise in the resulting photos?

Thanks,
Michael

Microstock Monitor / Re: Announcing Microstock Monitor 1.7
« on: April 08, 2007, 02:23 »
Hi Fritz,

let's use English in the forums, it's more fair to the majority of (English) users here.

If you can get in contact with me through e-mail ([email protected]) then we can use german.

I will need a screenshot and a copy of this website (while you are logged in):
http://www.fotolia.com/user/foto_index.php

Then I can further investigate this issue. For the copy please simply go to the above website and save the website as html. Then send it to the e-mail address given above.

All the best,
Michael

Microstock Monitor / Re: LuckyOliver Bug
« on: April 05, 2007, 09:20 »
Hi!

Mine shows the same. .30 - - - -
But I thought it should have a 1 under monthly downloads?

Ah, ok. What you said in your initial post confused me (there you said it shows "0"). "-" means that it's not implemented yet :-)

All the best,
Michael

Hi!

Yeah...ironically I've done better with them _before_ they started their marketing *g*

But I'll stay with them because the guys there are responsive and nice.

All the best,
Michael

Hi!

Thanks for this. My current balance at lucky oliver is 11.10 and it seems to work fine, i.e., it shows 11.10 and all other fields show "-". Can you reproduce the problem and maybe provide a screenshot of it?

Many thanks,
Michael

Hi all,

there is a new release of Microstock Monitor available at:
http://microstockmonitor.unfolded.com/index.php?pr=Downloads

It contains a fix for StockXpert stats which stopped working after the change of the month (March to April). I've also added a dedicated section to the website where I plan to showcase some of my photos which I like.

For a future release I'm currently investigating a mechanism to make Microstock Monitor work on all platforms (OS X, Linux and Windows).

Many thanks for everyone who uses Microstock Monitor. If you like it, please spread the word - I hope to see many new users in the future. If you have a website for example, then I'd heavenly appreciate a link. If you have a blog, it would be awesome if you could write a few words about Microstock Monitor - many thanks in advance!

Please also remember that Microstock Monitor is completely free software. If you like it, please consider to sign up with new agencies through the links provided on the website or in Microstock Monitor. This might give me a small compensation for my work through referal earnings.

I'm looking forward to your feedback.

Hi!

Microstock Monitor is currently only supported in Windows, since it relies on a windows dll.

Sorry and many thanks for the feedback,
Michael

FYI Daneel,

i tried your tool on the mac version of Firefox and i'm getting this error:
type error: components.classes[cid] has no properties

any idea what is causiing it? Shouldn't it work on mac?

Hi!

The extension currently relies on a Windows DLL (library), so not currently - I'm sorry.

All the best,
Michael

Lighting / Re: Modifying construction lights - will it burn?
« on: March 27, 2007, 04:44 »
Hi!

Well I use 4 x 500 construction lights, and have purchased a light tent. Despite post processing I still cannot get the background white.

So tell me how you did these photos, they look GREAT!

Many thanks. If you use a light tent make sure to put one of the construction lights behind the light tent in order to blow out any shadows. Also use custom white balance...

All the best,
Michael

What do you think?

Are you using a wide-angle lens.  For some reason, some of the photos look like they have wide-angle distortion.

Hi!

I'm using a Sigma 18-50 f2.8 - could be that I used it at the wide end some times...

All the best,
Michael

Microstock Monitor / Re: Microstock Monitor is BACK! :-)
« on: March 26, 2007, 07:01 »
Hi!

Daneel

did you ever ask SS why they don't use HTTPS: for secure login if they're so worried about security?

my company just reissued this announcement about using the web etc...

"Bottom line, use SSL or HTTPS web sites. Do not view or provide private or sensitive information (e.g., banking, e-mail, and login) on web sites unless they are secured with SSL and use an HTTPS address."

No, I didn't. I didn't want to "strain my luck" (hope that this german saying translates well into english)... ;-)

All the best,
Michael

Hi all,

some more photos which I took in my "cheap-ass" photo studio - this time with a bit of a story in mind. Around 90% of the first batch of 50 was already accepted at StockXpert  :o

What do you think?

All the best,
Michael

ps: The previous photos of my daughter are selling quite good :-)

123RF / A note on isolations of electronic gadgets
« on: March 26, 2007, 05:07 »
Hi all,

123RF has an interesting policy on isolations of electronic gadgets such as mobile phones. They won't accept those, even if you carefully remove all brand names / logos. All other agencies (the big 6 and the up and coming ones) follow another policy on this (my own experience, as I uploaded some of these isolations).

So save your bandwidth and don't try uploading these to 123RF.

The full thread is here:

Featurepics.com / Re: Anyone selling at Featurepics?
« on: March 26, 2007, 02:33 »
Hi all,

I've now changed my price from 1 USD to 5 USD without the resize option. I figure that if a company wants my image, then it doesn't care much if they pay 1 or 5 USD (it's both peanuts for them). I've also removed the resize option due to the same conclusion.

Let's see how it works.

All the best,
Michael

Software - General / Re: Canon EF100mm f/2.8 Macro USM
« on: March 25, 2007, 16:08 »
bought a ton of stuff from B&H and have had good experience.  Have shipped to norway in the past and no problems.  Shipped to Canada earlier and it went well.  Had to return a lens hood that i didn't need after i had purchased it (i didn't know one came with the lens i bought).  I didn't get a ups shipping label but i did get my money back for the lens hood.

Did you ever have to pay any taxes / custom fees when ordering from B&H to Norway?

Thanks,
Michael
