I think the 50/50 decision is short sighted.  Several sites offer 50/50 or better but they don't generate much in sales. So 50% of not a lot = not a lot.  I would focus on the big four first, then upload to the smaller volume sites.  I am speaking photos.  Illustrations and video mileage may vary.

Not to sound arrogant and rude, but I think most vector artist are not selling their artworks, but actually selling their dignity at 0.25 cents at the big 4 which seemed degrading to me. All those years of learning and honing of skills for the sake of 25 cents is a waste of time, and a question of self-worth.

I like the earnings at SS, but i quit as well at the end of this month.
And it seem to me that most buyers at SS and other cheap subscription microstock sites like to circulate the artworks they bought to FRee Vector sites. I actually saw some of my artworks and others in free site, and there is nothing the microstock sites would do for u if u lodge a complain.

I quit SS becos of lousy 25 cents and free giveaway at free vector sites.

Istock exclusive programme is overhyped and over rated. I was disillusioned into getting 45% commission and in the end i was getting 25% which is no different from 15%. I was only paid 18 buck for artwork that is price $75 which is frustrating.
Istock is too greedy for having lion share.

Anyway, i decided to quit Istock at the end of this month.

Can any veteran here kindly provide me a list of agencies that offer 50-50% commission in vector illustraton?
Would kindly appreciated if anyone here help.

35% of $0.13 is virtually giving out for free! This is really too cheapskate.

On that main upload page, you can just select all and set the price, send to queue, etc.

What's The highest Price you can set in P5??? $20??? Is there any figure beyond that?

I have 375 downloads so far and i dun consider it very good. I have an average of abt 4 to 6 dls per day, and i made 1.50 to 3.5 bucks per file based on 15% commission which is miserable.

Again, it sounds like you already decided, if you have Vettas.

You can be an exclusive vector contributor, and submit rasters elsewhere, afaik.

Is this legally written in black and white?? I cant find any written info on istock exclusive terms and conditions program.

I may be a newbie, but i m not rookie. I know you are at loggerhead with Yuri and booted out of Istock recently.Oops!

Ya, i forgot to ask something.

Is Offset an exclusive program for contributor as well??? I cant find any info on it.

I checked my earnings at istock today and It's true that I received 25%. 10% higher than my last 15% and a few dollars more, but earnings doesnt change significantly.

I think it is more profitable selling blueprint on multiple sites than just selling vector on istock. I will probably deactivate my port on SS temporaily to observe sales from istock for about a mth.

I will opt out of exclusivity if sales is not as good as expected.

I heard abt Shutterstock offset, and may consider to try.

It is hard to decide between this 2????
I am selling more files at SS, but earnings at SS is slightly a bit higher by a few hundreds buck than my Istock.

Btw, i am only selling blueprint raster illustration of my designs at SS, my vector files are only available at istock.

My initial plan in the beginning when i joined :
It would sound stupid to sell my vector files at 25cents at SS, so it does make sense to sell only blueprint at SS and vector files at IS.
And now i have to decide between this 2.

The problem is I have not given them the reply to be exclusive, and my files are automatically converted to vetta without my notice.

My description files are in the istock folder without any changes in particular.
I only notice the files turned vetta when i check to see them on the searching results.

Now, i am not very sure whether to deactivate my files at shutterstock. I am selling at shutterstock and istock, and now i m forced to choose between this 2.

Hi folks, I m a newbie here and i have joined Istock 3 months ago.

Few days ago, i received a mail from istock offering an exclusive program and now hesistating.

I wished to seek advice from former istock exclusives here, if i joined their exclusive program, does it mean that I am being offered 45% full commission???

The answer that I received from Istock is not very clear, they just said 30 to 45%, never giving me the actual commission figure.

Actually, the greatest surprise that i received from istock is that 70% of my artworks which is selling for $15 to $25 previously have been upgraded to Vetta collections and now selling at $45 to $75.
I am happy that istock valued my designs, but at the same time i m worried that they may not sell as well as before since it is very costly.

And one thing, does istock really check yr files on other microstock sites? I see that some istock exclusives are selling their files on other sites as well.

Any advices are welcomed.

Pixmac / Re: Pixmac merges with Pond5
« on: April 06, 2013, 09:03 »
I am a newbie here, so sorry for my ignorance here.

I am aware of the merging of Pixmac and P5, and i have a couple of question here.

1) Can we set our own Pricing for our images in Pixmac since P5 allow us to do so??

2) Pixmac are partners to FeaturePics, DepositPhotos & Yay Micro and now P5.
Instead of uploading to all sites, does it mean by uploading to Pixmac, all images are directly imported to the other 4 sites as well????

3) Now that Pixmac, FeaturePics, depositphotos, Yay micro, P5 and 123rf (P5 and 123rf are partners) are directly linked, how is our commission going to be calculated since some of the sites are subscription based?

And another question:

123rf and P5 are partners, so does that mean that sales commission in 123rf is the same as P5's 50% commission???
