Ok, thanks for the explanation. I didn't realize that your submission process didn't apply this metadata prior to QC.

Unfortunately, their system doesn't allow to specify metadata before QC :(
They're reading only standard fields (title, description, keywords) and putting files for QC. You cannot edit them and fill anything else until they pass it.

How do i activate the code i received?

You can use it to get a discount when purchasing any package.
Code has no expiration date, you can use it whenever you want.

Apologies for the late announcement!

This year besides the traditional New Year discounts we've added an extra bonus: every time you purchase a subscription to any of our services or top up your account balance you receive a gift for every 10 EUR spent. Gifts can contain promo codes for up to 100 EUR, free yearly subscriptions on any plan or free M+ Video Trends subscriptions. We wish you best of luck with the gifts!

Traditional discounts are up to 40% on 1-year packages and up to 50% on 2-year packages (compared to the full price of month-to-month subscription for the same duration) and they are already included in the prices.

So, if you were thinking of purchasing a subscription - now is the best time to do so!

The promotion will be active until 14th January.

We've decided to start this year with a really good news for our users! We were discussing an option to download your files back from M+ for a while and finally came up with the best way to implement that.
From now on you can download your JPEG files back (both photos and previews for vectors/videos). Any JPEGs you download will contain a full copy of the information from the M+ database, including metadata and uploading/submission statuses in a format fully compatible with StockSubmitter. It allows to completely synchronize information between M+ and StockSubmitter.
Soon we'll add an option to download EPS and MOV files along with your JPEGs and an option to download a whole folder in a ZIP archive.

To try out the new feature you can select the files you want to download and click the corresponding icon above.

Different question: how do supertags and other metadata get applied on Alamy? I noticed that as of late many of my photos get submitted without the supertags and other metadata from the Optional tab, like categories, people and property in the image. I can't see any pattern for when this information does/does not get populated as it's all available and filled out in the microstock app

It's caused by their modifications that sometimes prevent SS/M+ from reading all the newly published files.
As you may know, they have a QC (some kind of a review) BEFORE images can be submitted with all the metadata. And this QC can take a long time.
After the QC images will be on sale but without all the extra metadata you've mentioned. And if their website won't provide the correct list of those unfinished files (which it doesn't sometimes) - M+/SS won't be able to complete the submission.
There's not much we can do about it, you can either complete it manually or re-upload.

Shouldn't these files not be marked as Submitted in the app then? That's what I was referring to when I mentioned the status mismatch. Unsubmitted files aside, I can't trust the submitted status either...

If the program says that the files have been submitted successfully it means that the agency website replied with a success to the submission request. There is no way for the program to know it wasn't really successful especially considering there's no way to identify the file after removing the identifying keyword :(
We're planning to implement the approval tracking feature for M+ though, it should help.

I just checked and there is no custom keyword in these photos. There is also one new file on BS pending submission, without that custom keyword (5e0acb3f1bf529301d7ecf27) that is marked as Submitted in the app. I'm unable to submit it myself on BS as well. When I try, I get an error saying that the original is no longer there. Not sure which side the problem originated on.

If there's no identifying keyword then probably the system has attempted to submit this file already and BS didn't let it through for some reason.
Due to the agency specifics automatic submission won't be possible after that and you would only be able to complete the submission manually (or not, if their system bugs out like in your example).

@SvetlanaSF
It's not considered cheating or something like that, don't worry.
However, the slight inconvenience that comes in a 'package' with that is that you would have to mark files as submitted manually if you don't want the system to re-upload them again.
Ok, good then! Thank you, I'll try to remember it.
@SvetlanaSF
As of Bigstock, could you provide a bit more information: were those three files completely ready to be submitted except for the categories or did they have that custom identifying keyword we're using for submission when you have submitted them manually?
For that one, I'm not sure, unfortunately. I don't believe I needed to do anything, just submit the photos. But I wouldn't bet my life on it. Also, I'm not sure what you mean about the custom keyword. Can you please clarify?

The keyword that we're using to identify a file at the Bigstock unfinished section, normally it's starting with 'zzz' and contains of random set of lowercase Latin letters.

@viktorcvetkovic

The program will keep your original filenames if you use only Latin characters, digits and underscores in them :)

Are you sure? My file names are always changed despite using Latin characters, digits, and underscores (I upload videos only).
Example: My latest upload: 06_regie.mov becomes: 5e073b888f9ab82daa580520.mov on SS

Oh right if you're using M+ the names will be always changed but it's not a big problem: you can just copy those names into the "search" field on M+ to see your files :)

We're not planning to try and improve the experience on that part for those who's using the free subscription at the cost of those who's using a paid one, I hope that's understandable.

Yeah we're aware of that and planning to find a solution.

I don't know about the other users' experience, but I don't ever see files just disappear. Are you saying that this happens after your app uploads it to the agency? Is that something you can fix on your end? With several thousand files with multiple agencies, I still can't relate to this problem

It's not something that happens on our end, it's just that agencies randomly lose uploaded files. It happens if you upload manually too.
But if you do everything manually it's much easier to spot and fix.
M+ is meant to be 'click Upload once and forget' kind of app, we plan to implement tracking of the approval status after submission as well to make it an even more smooth workflow.

When I upload sets of 3-5 similar images, it's really difficult to go back and forth between the different sites to see what got and what didn't get submitted. I find that the microstockplus app isn't always consistent at marking the status of the files correctly, so if something is marked as Uploaded and not Submitted, I have to first check whether or not that is correct, then I have to update the files manually. Even though it's certainly not as hard as uploading directly to multiple agencies on my own, it's still quite cumbersome.

If it DOES submit a file but doesn't mark it as submitted it's not quite normal and I'd ask you to let me know if such things happen so I could look into that and fix it.
For the investigation I'd only need an ID of a file that got submitted on the agency website but didn't get marked as such.

If I recall this correctly, you have set a limit of 33 free uploads per month. It is enforced for some agencies, but not all. And even when it seems to be enforced for an agency, some files still seem to seep through. So for instance with Dreamstime and 123RF I always have to submit the files manually. For others - only sometimes. I suspect it could be a non-issue if I had a subscription, but the issues I've reported here in this thread prevent me from being comfortable with signing up for it.

While I understand your concerns I'd like to point out that we cannot really promote such ways of using the service because we have quite high operational costs and while it's completely fine to let the users try out the system for free (or even use it completely for free if their volumes are low - below 33 images/month - that's why we put such a limit) it wouldn't be as sustainable if we would intentionally help users to extend their free limit by submitting manually while still saving bandwidth and time on uploading.
I know how it sounds but M+ is not really much profitable and we cannot reduce it further.
Thus, we're looking to improve the workflow and experience of those using the service how it's meant to be used in the first place. That's why there's this feature.
That said, I'd like to say again that it's NOT normal to have files not marked as submitted if they are in fact submitted. So those cases I'll definitely look into if you let me know of any and hopefully that'll improve your experience as well.

137
No, that's not what I mean. I'm referring to having this be a built-in feature. It's quite cumbersome when uploading hundreds of files per month, to try and remember to update the status on some agency on some files. I've described the logic that should work for it by default. Hope it makes sense.

Well for most users it's better to have it that way, because agencies losing files happens all the time and it's hard to track which files got lost to re-upload them manually.
While on the other hand if you do submit files manually it's an action performed by you and you always know which files you submit that way.
I still don't see any reason to perform the submission manually to be honest, why would you do that?

138
Ok, I'll keep an eye out when the app doesn't submit again. However, is it possible to somehow avoid having the app consider the files lost? Shouldn't it be smart enough to understand that it's already uploaded the file? It's less disruptive for me to reupload the file again if a file does indeed get lost (which I haven't had happen yet), rather than to deal with the duplicates. Do you think that's possible?
Yes, as I said, just mark the files as submitted in M+ if you submit them manually - it won't re-upload them in that case.

139
Yes, a large number of those I had to submit manually as the app doesn't seem to submit to Dreamstime

First of all, the app SHOULD submit to Dreamstime. If it doesn't happen please contact the support chat, I'll look into it :)

Second, if you submit something manually please mark it as submitted in M+, other wise it'll consider files as 'lost' by the agency and will re-upload.

140
Hi, I'm continuing to have issues with the repeated uploads. It's getting too cumbersome to manually track the status of the uploads, when I think the system should be able to detect that a specific file has already been uploaded to an agency. Seems like the 2nd condition from your list below is failing.
Is there anything you can do to fix this?
Also, it's not doing it for the other agency where it has an incorrect status. For example, Shutterstock.

It's doing that only when the following conditions are met:
- files still have 'uploaded' status;
- the system NEVER seen them on the agency website;
- there are no other reasons for the submission to not happen (submissions are not used up, there are no parsing errors, etc.);
- a week has passed since the file been uploaded.

Did you submit those files manually?

141
It may say so if I'm currently not at the computer and cannot reply.
You can leave a message anyway - a ticket will be created and you'll be notified by e-mail when you get a reply.

Please send an error report from the "Errors" button after receiving this error message.

By the way, it would be great to have the option to start Stocksubmitter without internet connection. Sometimes i go to an offline environment for a while to be more productive with editing, but even in those periods it would be useful to manage some of my keywords, or search my image library by metadata.

You can do that by launching App/StockSubmitter.exe from the program folder directly, logging in as a guest and refusing to update.

144
The last file could be the executable itself, hence it is probably triggering their paranoia more than the rest of the files?

If it says that the finisher is blocked from running then that could be preventing the update from completing too.

Sounds right, it's always the last file which is the finisher. I'll try some more tomorrow morning. Thanks for the answers.

Would the browser make a difference? I use Firefox, but have Chrome and Edge installing and working.

Browser doesn't matter at all, the updater is a standalone app that doesn't use your browser in any way :)

@Uncle Pete

It seems something is blocking access for the updater to the update server.
So probably you could try looking for what does that and disabling it.

147
@Desintegrator

Thank you for the information, I will try to reproduce the issue.

As of those errors when you close the program - it seems to be an issue inside the .NET Core and apparently they still didn't fix it even with the latest 3.1 update. It's pure cosmetic though and can be ignored safely.

@Uncle Pete

What issues with the updates are you experiencing?
Make sure you launch the program using a link that points to SyncUpdaterCore.exe in the program folder and not to StockSubmitter.exe directly to ensure smooth updates.

148
Please reinstall the program, should help :)
