Now: my heart goes to landscape...but money goes to industry....you choose!  ;D

Haha  ;D That's always a pain in the business!  :P

Ps. I went to your gallery... and wow! Maybe your landscapes are to good for SS? Very good work I've found! Why don't you try exclude them from micros and offer in better places? Keep machines here on SS only  :P Oh, and I'd suggest not uploading more tomatos isolated if you want to get the success anywhere  ;)

Not in my case. New stuff is selling very good in a fact. I wonder if it has something to do with my regular uploads lately... thinking.

Lately I've found info that CP pays 5 (five) %, is that true? Really poeple play that game???  :o

You say about Zazzle but not about Redbubble, FAA, 500px, Photo4me,...  and others. What about Imagebrief, Picfair, FocalPool, ...?

Budget and low earners - StockFood? Inmagine? etc... I wouldn't say they're budget...

131
Roede, if I'd opt out (when I was with them) I should expect to see one sale for few months, less than 1... Still no point in wasting time for this place (in my opinion!).

Edit.
Just checked my print screens with two years of sales... Only subs, very few... and two sales in credit where one of them is for 0,24... Lol.

132
Ana, it's not my case to care about what you do with you time, but I would honestly suggest the time given for upload you better spend on making new work and upload to agencies that really can sell. Don't waste your time on so very low earners (subs for 0,23, occasionally sales? phhhi!), where you can NOT opt out of partner sales, using site is very time consuming, not everything works as should, etc, etc... In my opinion PM has it's best days behind, long time ago.

Why don't you focus on some good sellers and try support sites with fair share (at least 40-50%).
Uploading 1000s files to agency that maybe will sell few files (in subs!) monthly is very naive and poor in my opinion.

133
Ana, did you read other threads about PM on this forum? I hope you know what you are coming into...

134
If you like earning 0,23 , where sales are occasionally then go ahead. You'll spend time on uploading and then must pray for any client coming.

I've been told PM is big seller with macro pricing so joined full of hopes. I remember when they were up in the poll on right column of forum... Now where they are? Middle bottom somewhere down there.

If you opt out of subs you can wait looonnnggg years to see payment. I was with them since 2011 and closed account in Feb. 2014. Sales from zero to few like 3-6 monthly with less than 1k files in port. Earned about 9 !!! In March and June I got email with info that I earned 0,xx , lol. Account closed 4 month ago and sales continue showing up. Wondering for how long and who and how will pay me back this earnings...

In short words, after my experience - WOT (one big waste of time!). I wouldn't ever bother with them, respect your time, work and effort.

Ps. "It takes six months until the images are removed from all partner websites due to the regulations of our Author Licence Agreement."

If I remember correct Crated launched in May 2014? Anniversary soon? It's so very peaceful and quiet here... No one, nothing? Is it alive (not including collecting hearts-like it)?

Edit.
In the fact I wouldn't be surprised if people don't get sales here. I just tried to find some images from my gallery, so search for keywords gives me zero results. Now, if client comes to Crated and wants to buy something exceptional (location for example), but your image doesn't show in search (it was not curated or other reason), then search result says: "sorry, no results..." and what client does? Looking for it on another site with more images in offer? Crated is so much curated that it has a lot poor offer in searcher than others. Which means less money for agency and authors... Am I right?

It appears that the warning lights were not flashing at all to warn oncoming traffic.

The instinct of self-preservation should tell that something could go wrong and however you should slow down and keep wariness, even stop to make sure you can drive save further. In my country we must slow down everytime we get close to tracks. With or without barriers and lights. To many accidents are happening still though :(

« on: March 20, 2015, 13:22 »
I still am confused if OS did say: "we don't want microstockers!"? I thought they accept only high pros from RM/ macro world and close doors to micro roams...

Deyan, I find W61 in agencies often lately, maybe you'd like to give us some more light on it (like how to get, what they need, what is the offer) in other thread? ;) All I know they want exclusive files only.

Nice. What did you use to shoot that?

Thanks ;) The funniest thing is... that I didn't use anything! It was young photographer luck (I often miss it these days), that's it! I remember weather was not good, clouds are growing very fast when the Moment was closer... I had a lot of luck then, clouds gave me natural soft diffuser, right in the perfect moment, I catched focus on sun without watching through the viewer to not hurt my eyes, and praying to not damage camera with so much light straight into it ;) So no filters and 100% of luck...

Voyager, all photogs I know forget to change ISO (me too). They (we) change everything in camera, but not ISO  :P It doesn't matter if you are young amatour or 70+ y.o. experienced pro... ;)
Btw, very nice images you did, love it! (I'm not sure if this is good form to say: do image or only take photo?).

Life! ;)

I don't even bother postprocessing mine shots from today. But it brought me some ideas for interesting session with using photos taken today  :D

Here in Poland it's only 73% and weather is... too good  :'(  It's full sunny day, no clouds at all! All I get (absolutely with using safety as filter ND big stopper) is white half sun on black background...
At this time I appreciate my luck in 2011 when got this: link
In last days it's my bestseller on SS  :P

146
Hatman, if the newcomer can afford 80% and marketing at the same time, why do you care? I hope you're just joking with lowering %... First people here say 50% is the minimum and they are jumping into platforms offering 70-80% (easiest example is 500px which makes sales and pays 70% and that is from big amount! And it works) and now you say you don't want to earn that much because you don't trust the agency... I don't get it  :P
One more time, if SIM can afford that, if they are prepared (I believe they are, they made calculations and searched the market before plans realisation), just be happy and support them. We are coming to new market area...
You're right it's to early to say anything here in that case, maybe after 2-4 years will be able to be 100% sure if it works or not. And after that period SIM will see if they can stay with 20%.
One more thing we need to ascertain - if SIM is just a platform where we do our own marketing (like Focal Pool etc) or it is another agency doing whole marketing for us... Sorry if I missed that info somewhere :)

147
Jojo, thanks for pricing explanations, now it's all clear to me! :)

Seeing good response from you I'm more and more trusting it will be promising platform, after you fix some details as above ;)

Btw, your image thumbnails are much darker/ oversaturated than orig. file. Did anybody notice that?

Alamy.com / Re: Why we love Microstock (blog post)
« on: March 19, 2015, 04:26 »
Bald, you're right. I sold few files in macro pricing on SS (fat SoDs) this month which makes it no1 for me definitely. It's not only subs and it's far away from micro pricing. But many people don't sell many SoDs on SS so if we compare only subs in av.0,30$, then you must admit it's very hard work and many, maaanyyyy images must be sold...

And... if Alamy could get more regular clients (with actual Alamy pricing, not lower), it would be no1 agency in my list. And they wouldn't have to write this s....d blog posts  :P

Alamy.com / Re: Why we love Microstock (blog post)
« on: March 19, 2015, 04:14 »
I think last year Alamy sold 300,000 licences

300,000 from a collection of 55 M!

SS sells 4 licences EVERY SECOND!!

So SS sells more licences in 1 day then A sells all year

That true but... People earn ~0,30$ with one lic. on SS and ~30-90$ on Alamy...  So you can calculate easy how many licences should you sell on SS to reach one ~50$? 166,6...?

And about this blog post, I'll say it again here - I hate micros and I feel disgusted with this blog post, it is needless. To win our (authors) hearts you don't have to say micros are great... IMO. Or your idea was...?

They reply in an hour now. Just expect sugestion to join SS in back mail :P
