I have been using google doc and ask people to sign (by drawing) on my phone.  I am looking for a dedicated app for it.  Any recommendations?

Is there a quick easy way to batch remove the audio channel from 100+ mp4 files?  The only way I know is to put each one in premiere, remove audio channel and re encode, which takes a lot of time.

How many GB of files were you trying to upload?

Yes, in my last batch about 15% of the clip didn't get applied.  I emailed support, they said there is an issue and I end up key wording them manually.  Not fun.

I have about 800 footages there for about a year.  Average 0.5 sales a month.  Personally I don't like their site - way too many bugs.

I also considered the panasonic line of cameras.  But the low light capability is not on par with the sony.  Specifically I compare the gx85 against a6300 at iso1600 and iso3200.  Another positive of the sony is it ability to track a subject.  The one issue with the sony is the lack of budget lense selection esp on the wider end.  16mm turn into a 24mm on FF, which is not wide enough for what I need.  My budget is under 1k for the whole setup.

What is the best value camera to produce stock 4k videos?  I have used a sony rx100, canon 6d and 5d3 to produce stock videos.  I shoot mostly travel scenic (wide) and static (medium) shots.  Based on my research so far, the sony a6300 with 16-50 kit lens seem to be a very good option, with tiny size, impressive level of details and low light capability.  Price wise it can be had for under 1k USD.   Are there any other better or similar options I should consider?  Also are there any budget ultrawide options available for the a6300?

I just started uploading to vb.  I am running into the same problem - unrecognized files.  How did you fix it? I already contact vb, but have not heard anything since.

Is there any budget action camera or device that can do 1080hd  timelapse video, similar to the GoPro hero 4 black?  I m looking for one for a personal/non commercial project, and prefer not to spend $500USD+ on something will only be used a few times.  Looking for something easy to use that I can mount somewhere, set it and forget it.

Why don't you start by using an old smartphone. A timelapse app is only a few bucks.

Yes my iphone6 has a built in timelapse feature and will be a backup solution if I cant find the right action cam.

Gopro Hero?

(Time interval is limited to 0.5 sec though)

The gopro hero session at $199usd is on my list.  I just want to see if there are more budget options.

Buy Canon 400D-450D....for less than 250$,smartphones are not the solution and Gopro has no zoom

Yes but its not compact.  Looking for action cam level compactness.

i'm "prolific" timelapser and i've to say reflex are a very good option (better than phones and gopro) for the simple fact that for the reflexes you have lot of standard useful gear that help and make your work faster and better...while finding good tools for phones and gopros is not that easy

here you can see one of my timelapses

Sorry what is 'relfex'? I tried to google for it but found nothing related to video camera.

1700 clips on P5, avg 80/month

Most of my clips are travel related.

Pond5 / Re: Pond5 - average review time?
« on: January 06, 2016, 22:42 »
It was mentioned on the pond5 website that the new average wait time is 4-6 weeks.  I also submitted some back in Nov, still waiting to be reviewed.  If you are uploading seasonal stuff, better upload them at least 3 months ahead just to be safe.

Pond5 / Re: Does Pon5 rejected all batch?
« on: April 05, 2015, 17:30 »
In my experience they do reject batches.  I uploaded 100+ video clips and the first few had some technical issues, my whole batch got rejected.  I uploaded the same video clips without the first few and got approved.

Any ideas on what market picfair cater to? Geographical area/type etc..

There are several types of travel footage I create: static shot of landmarks, locals interaction at a gathering spot, details of everyday items

I have tried stablizing the footage in post using virtualdub.  It trims the footage so it is no longer 1080.  Does the wrap stablizer trim the video?

I have tried the monopod approach.  It is ok for static shots but it tends to shake side ways.

I have a canon 6d with a 2470.  It is relatively light dslr setup.  If i have a ligher camera such as a gh4, I would try using a octoplus tripod and attached it to my shoulder.

Someone suggest I tie a string to the camera, a corn on the other end.  Drop the coin to the floor, step on it, along with the neck strap, I would have a 2 point stablizing system.  Wonder if anyone has tried that?

When traveling light to a new country, sometimes it is not always possible to bring a tripod.  What techniques do you find useful to create stable stock footages?  I have tried the techniques below and they are hit or miss.  Perhaps a light shoulder rig will be the answer?

For stock photos, I use lightroom.  What do you use to maintain your stock video library?  I believe LR can do the job, but wonder if there are better and more well known tools.

General - Stock Video / frame rate for stock videos 24 or 30?
« on: February 22, 2014, 09:43 »
Is it worthwhile to upload two versions of the same stock video at different frame rates?  Will there be any quality lost if a video frame rate is changed from 24 to 30 or from 30 to 24?

pretty neat idea

how did you do the sliding shots?

Thanks for the suggestion.  I look into the sony one but its too big to fit into the pocket.  I am leaning towards the g1x right now as it seems to be the best solution.

I am looking for a smaller camera to do mostly stock photos and some videos (1080) when traveling.  I am using a canon system so naturally I started with what canon has offers, which is the g1x.  I have also looked into the panasonic gf1, gf2 as well as olympus pen series.  They all have the pros and cons.  The way I look at it, the g1x seems to be the best all in one solution.  Based on sample images on the web they are acceptable up to iso1600, its small and the HD videos look ok as well.  On the flip side the build in lens is slow, focusing is not  fast, and its not as proven as the other models.  Price wise it is the most expensive at $800.  The GF1, GF2, EPL1 and EPL2 are cheap with kit lens.  But they form factor is not compact (lens sticking out, hard to put inside a pocket).  If I buy a pancake lens such as 20 1.7, it will cost another 400, which brings the total price closer to 600.  The EPL1 and 2 can not do HD video but their images are good up to iso1600.  The GF1 and 2 can do HD videos, and seems to have strong user support (via third party firmware).  I have also looked at the sony nex-5, its price sites in the middle but its form factor (big lens sticking out) turns me off.  Anyway I am hoping someone can assist and provide more insights so that I can make a better decision on getting the best compact travel camera for stock photos and videos.
