New forum is quite disappointing. Who needs bazillion of categories, most of them are unnecessary. Big Brother is watching my every step, I cant even view a thread without my username being displayed there. And do we really need to know other contributors birthday...? Then we have something called "Reputation" here, the one who gets more positive votes wins a cookie.... I think Im too old for this  :-\

Hi All,

I am here, My name is Ahmed Soliman. first of all i want to say sorry to you all and all authors that i have copied there work :'( but i want you to know that i didn't read terms and conditions carefully. I am not a thief

anyway all my accounts are now terminated and i lost all of my money. one small thing... you have destroyed my work that i am using since 2008 ... and this is how i eat me and my family.

Thank you
Soliman

The authors you copied also have their families!

What were you thinking? You must have spent hours and hours creating those objects and then you didnt spend a minute on changing at least colors or composition? Why did you make almost exact copies? It doesnt make sense. Nevermind, Im glad your accounts were closed.

I think I'd be more nervous if my balance disappeared without getting paid. Holding my breath 'til it shows up in my account. When they took money back last year without providing any accounting and I just had to take it on faith, I lost faith in their system but assume I may get my $100+ on the 25th of June, though I'm not sure.

PP for May took me over the $100 mark, so not even sure I will get paid until July with their new system. Anyone know? The payment explanation isn't clear on that.

If your balance was 100$ or more on the 31th of May, you should receive that sum on the 25th of June. You should see the pending sum under your Payment Report.

If your balance is 100$ or more on the 30th of June, you will receive that sum on the 25th of July (or probably the 24th, because 25th July is Saturday). Supposing you have chosen your payment method.

That makes sense. My payment method has been the same for years now, only difference is I don't have to request payment. I think I was just under $100 on May 31 and the May PP kicked me over. I just wasn't sure if the May PP would count for May or June, since in the past I just requested payment whenever I noticed I was over $100, it didn't have to be by the end of the month. I filled out the tax interview, so I should be all set with the new system. Thanks.

May PP count for June (because they are added to our balance in June). If you are not sure whether you had 100$ on the 31th of May, then just check the link to your Payouts Report where you should see if there is a payment with Period Ending "May 31, 2015" with Status "Pending". If you dont have it there, it means your balance on the 31th May was not 100$ and you will have to wait for July to get paid.

I dont know if this is your first payment in the new system, but if so I think you should double check if you really have your payment method selected, I remember some people had problems with that. The link for Payment Information is just above the link for Tax Interview and there you should have "Your current payment method is:  PAYPAL (your paypal email address)". If you have Paypal, of course.

I was hoping Adobe to kill DPC, but look what they are doing instead!

I also thought that Adobe will somehow deal with the flippin DPC. Is this their way to deal with it? Unbelievable  >:(

iStockPhoto.com / Re: IS to Thinkstock
« on: May 20, 2015, 23:58 »
I just checked my portfolio on Thinkstock and for some reason my images were put under two different variations of my name.  So I have 434 images under one spelling of my name and 596 under another, which gives me a total of 1030 images which is the number I have on IStock.  This had to have been done in the mirroring process since I have never had a separate account at Thinkstock, only the one at IStock.  So you may want to check your images and see if you have more than one portfolio at Thinkstock.

I didnt find those missing files on Thinkstock under different username (when I searched with their keywords), it looks like they were simply not transfered after being approved on iStock. I updated titles and keywords of around 40 remaining ones yesterday and they are now added to my port on Thinkstock so for me, this method works and I hope it will also work for other people.

Is there another review process of images from IS to Thinkstock?

I have 800 images approved on IS and 600 images on Thinkstock.  Random missing images over the past year that I have been uploading to IS.

Many thanks in advance.

Barry

I have some 300 vectors on iStock and only 250 on Thinkstock. I didnt care much about it because it is a common problem but some time ago I read in a thread on iStock forums that the transfer to Thinkstock could be triggered by changing title or adding keywords of the image on iStock. I forgot about it then but after reading this thread, I tested it yesterday with 5 images and it worked!!

So what I tried was - changing title (removing one word) with two images, adding one keyword with another two images and with the last image I changed both title and keywords - to test more options. I did that yesterday morning and this morning all 5 previously missing files are now on Thinkstock! To my surprise, I didnt expect it would work but it did. Perhaps you could try it.

Note: those newly added images are now listed as the newest ones, when I sort the Thinkstock port by Newest so thats where you could check it, if you try it.

This cant be real. They are not able to acknowledge they are no longer in that position and thus, they will never recover. This is just sad  :(

Skrill - you cannot use it for Istock, you can use it for Shutterstock and Dreamstime

Payoneer - you cannot use it for Shutterstock, you can use it for Istock

I dont know about the other agencies.

This particular guy asked the same or similar question repeatedly on SS forum in the past and he already got all possible answers. Its easy to remember because he often writes in caps. I dont understand why he keeps asking the same question instead of working on his portfolio - that would be the best answer he can ever get, wouldnt it?

Wonder if I'm being impatient, I keep grabbing all ten and tossing them in all at once ... maybe I should just do the two files at once ... and wait for it to finish?

I always drag only two files at once (eps plus jpg) and wait until they fully upload (both icons appear). Try it, it cant hurt.

I use the browser upload and something goes wrong

What exactly goes wrong? I use browser upload in Chrome too, I didnt have any problems so far. If I want to upload a vector, then I select the eps file and the jpg preview and I drag both files at once to the upload area. The files must have the same name, for example "flower.eps" and "flower.jpg". What happens when you do that, is there some error message?

my last set of rejections were for not being vector files :/

Did you submit vectors in format EPS8 or EPS10? Where did you create them, in Adobe Illustrator, Corel or Inkscape?

Can't try it right now, usually it says that that filetype isn't supported I think. Yes EPS10 using AI and I'll either be missing the preview or the vector. Sometimes the previews don't even load if they do upload so I can't tell which file is missing and end up starting over. It's so confusing.

I see, EPS10 from AI should be the correct format, I also submit it. I asked because I think it is also possible to create eps files in Photoshop and I guess they wouldnt be recognized as vectors but that is not the case here.

I suppose then you should really write to support as Red Dove suggested and ask them to clarify the rejection reason - what exactly is wrong with the eps files you submitted (perhaps some technical parameter). Give them batch IDs and whichever error messages you got while uploading. Definitely dont give up.

Yes, thats strange. I sold a sub this afternoon (some six hours ago) and it was for $0.30. And about an hour ago I sold three subs, all for $0.44, one JPG size small and two vectors   ??? a mistake they made, I guess?

Maybe no mistake...
They did announce that they will change their subscription royalties, see here.

Until today I didn't believe they would really do this. And I can't understand why they don't announce such a change...

Maybe, I guess we will see soon. Earlier this year, they increased royalties for vectors and they also didnt announce it or update this new royalty in that royalty table in their FAQ before they actually started to apply it.

Lobo just clarified the credit prices:

Okay, everyone. I can officially stop using the phrase 'it will be more than $2 per credit':

Credits will range from $8 to $15 depending on the size of the credit pack the buyer purchases.

So it will be considerably higher than $2. And that is the last time I will have to type anything to do with $2 in this thread.

I appreciate this has been a frustrating aspect of the communication. We are pleased to be able to finally share this information with you."

I just read it too, its good he clarified it and Im sorry I was confused about it or rather worried that it may be really as low as two dollars.. Finally some real numbers!

97
But Lobo said clearly: "You're assuming 1 new credit = $1, but it will probably be closer to $2. So you need to double your numbers. We'll know the exact credit pack prices around sep 15."

So why do you think that 1 new credit will be 8-10 dollars, when he said it will be closer to 2 dollars?

No he didn't.  He said it would be _more_ than $2 .  Obviously, that contributor was getting confused, throwing out the number of $1, when the current price isn't even that little.  So, a bone was thrown that is so far away from the actual price that it doesn't matter.  If it was actually $2, all income would instantly be cut by more than half.

I must say Im confused too by the whole thread about this on Istock forum because people are throwing various numbers and the only one who can know something should be Lobo. More than 2 could be anything, I just dont get why he mentioned 2 dollars if the actual amount should be 8-10.

98
Obviously it won't be anywhere near $2, as that would equate to one of today's credits costing $.40 at the maximum.

I will be very surprised if it is not about $8 - $10 per credit depending on the pack. My guess is $9.99 for 1 credit and about $24 for 3. 1 Medium Essential image is currently $8 if you buy the current minimum of 10 credits.

Slightly less if they want to be very competitive.

Be fun to see what other people guess.

99
It means that non-exclusive vectors currently sold for 15 or 12 credits will be all sold for only 5 credits (1 new credit).  So our files will be devaluated. Great, amazing, just what I needed...  :'(

Help me through the math because I'm really feeling lost....

You should help yourself to some common sense. Shutterstock ToS do not allow contributors to publish their exact earnings. It is forbidden, even worse if you do that to another contributor. I suggest you delete your post and stop throwing other person earnings in the air.
