Adobe Stock / Re: Sales at Fotolia
« on: October 02, 2015, 18:44 »
FT took a long time (+4 yrs) but it's finally on fire...while I can't claim sales anywhere near what I earn on SS or IS, its rapidly my 3rd top earner.  FT is hassle-free.  No nonsense with reviews.  Their support team in very responsive.  I've received personal emails from them thanking me for contributing and responding to suggestions I made on their forum.  They have a human side that none of the other agencies have.  I love FT <3

Can someone tell me which sites accept images taken from mobile devices:
So far I know of Getty Moment, Fotolia, Stockimo and Dreamstime
If I'm not mistaken, the Getty Moment app only lets you upload to specific requests but you can upload any content on their normal website ???

is georank a requirement for all images? or just images that are specific to an area?

500 images is very ambitious

82
I contribute to both places with about 2500 images in my portfolio.  SS has leveled for me in in the last 6 months.  Its still my highest producer.   FT is rapidly becoming 2nd best producer...IS, DT running behind.  I love FT.  The reviewers are reasonable.  Their support team has reached out to me personally regarding issues I posted on their forum.  Theres a human side to FT that many other agencies dont have.  AND im selling there.

83
im not partial to the idea of exclusivity of images contributed there  yes, i understand they're GETTY but im not convinced Moment will take off enough to be bothered.  wishing those here who do contribute there lots of success so ya'll can come back and tell us its safe :P

I dont mention SS.  Unless you have specific reasons why you dont contribute there, you may want to consider them.  I contribute editorials to SS, IS, DT and Alamy.    SS by far is my best sales producer for editorial, and they're review  for editorial are far more reasonable then reviews of non-editorial.   DT barely has a pulse these days for me and I wonder if its because my portfolio is over-saturated with editorial shots that dont sell there.  idk.  just something to consider :)

my confusion is because of a statement another contributor posted on another site.   I thought with the merge there may have been a policy change.  I posted this same question here and on getty moment.  received quick response from richards@getty and another member who confirmed as stated above.  no change..no similars.  thanks :)

I've been a contributor at both Getty Moment and Istock for several years but rarely upload to Getty.  Like everyone, Im looking for options to increase me sales.  My question is since they are working together does it make sense to submit to both OR is it redundant?  Also, do Getty Moment uploads need to be exclusive?

I currently contribute to SS, IS, FT, DT, DS and Can
DT seems dead in the water and im wondering if its worth the effort to upload to BS or RF.  Any thoughts?  is anyone earning in these places?

My sales on DT are not flat...they are nearly dead.  2350 Online files.  They used to be my 2nd biggest earner.  So far February barely has a pulse.  what?

iStockPhoto.com / DeepMeta Question
« on: May 20, 2014, 06:06 »
Is it necessary to select subcategories in DeepMeta?
The keywords i add from lightroom are automatically imported to deepmeta but then i wind up spending a lot of time selecting subcategories.
While some of the subcategories are necessary and relevant, others really don't make sense to me and don't matter.
I guess the question is, if the image is selected will the top category display without a subcategory selected?

General - Stock Video / new to footage
« on: May 19, 2014, 06:36 »
hey guys, after some success selling stock photos i would now like to try submitting footage from my canon 6D (mostly likely to shutter stock)

my normal workflow is to import everything off my camera into Lightroom then export from there.  However my export options of:
DPX
H.264
or Original, Unedited
are all unacceptable formats for uploading to SS.  I also have quicktime, final cut pro, iMovie and premier on this computer.  Can someone tell me the best way to import from my Canon 6D and easiest way to export them so they will be the correct format to upload?
Thanks..sorry to be such a dork.  I just find video export codecs/settings to be wayyy to complicated with too many options.
Thanks!
L

piracy sucks but personally i've come to peace with the fact that once digital media hits the internet then im leaving myself open to it.  the good out weighs the bad.  so if something gets ripped off occasionally then i see it as the risk i decided to take by putting it 'out there'.  if it really irked me, id print it and hang it in a gallery which would leave me more of a starving artist then i currently am hehe.

Hi guys,  after moderate success selling my images on DT, SS, IS &  FT for the last 18 months I decided to see if i can get my images accepted to Almay.  I take a lot of editorial (RM) type shots around NYC and while traveling that sell well.  Is it advisable to submit RM shots for the first 4?  Should i stick to a them i.e. all NY City street shots?  or should I submit a more diversified selection of RF images?

Other then technical size requirements, how is Almays review process?    I read they look for edge to edge sharp focus...so no narrow DOF shots?

I can use some direction. thanks :)

i have my tax form on file and am requesting (converting credits) for the 1st time.  it tells me i need to upload my ID in my contributor parameters when i navigate there i see my alias and my Social Security number entered and browse to upload my JPG license.  When i hit save it says gives me an error saying my SS# is invalid.
hmmmm...no
its the correct SS number and the same one i used on my tax form which is on file.
