Shutterstock.com / OFFSET, how is it going?
« on: March 20, 2015, 10:49 »
I just wonder whether anyone has made some income on OFFSET already? If so, how is it compared to SS?

Shutterstock.com / SS desktop website reports less downloads
« on: September 02, 2014, 10:42 »
Have anyone else noticed that number of downloads per images shown in mobile and desktop SS contributor websites are different? Desktop website normally show less number of downloads than what mobile site shows.

Shutterstock.com / Download your own images for free
« on: April 26, 2014, 07:09 »
I'm not sure whether it's possible to download your own images for free in SS like in 123RF. If not, I think SS should give that opportunity to their contributors.

Canon / Wide-angle lens for 60D
« on: April 06, 2014, 07:22 »
I want to buy a wide angle lens for Canon 60D camera. Currently I'm using it with a 24-105mm lens which is not wide enough on this crop body in many occasions. Do you have any recommendations on following lenses (or any other wide-angle lenses)?

Shutterstock.com / How easily people give up...
« on: November 02, 2013, 12:01 »
I have 218 referred contributors to SS and only 4 of them got accepted! Out of those 4, 3 has given up with initially accepted images. So, only 1 guy is remaining, he also has less than 60 images after almost a year. Would you believe, I have only made $1.24 from those 218 referred contributors! Anyone has better stories?

Shutterstock.com / Any suggestions to improve?
« on: September 02, 2013, 12:22 »
I'm a (busy) student and hobbyist photographer. It has been exactly a year since I have joined with SS. I have sold bit more than 2000 copies during that time. In last three months, my SS income are $89.95, $127.83, and $171.41. My goal is to bring my SS income up to $400/month. However, I'm even not halfway through. I'm not interested in submitting to more agencies as I don't have much free time (probably I should try Symbiostock). And I'm not into model photography as well. I really appreciate if you could have a look at my port and highlight my week points and strengths. I welcome all your suggestions which will help me to reach my goal quickly. Thanks in advance.

General Stock Discussion / Best selling stock photographer
« on: July 29, 2013, 02:58 »
Does anyone know who is the current best selling stock photographer? arcurs.com says Yuri Arcurs is the the best selling stock photographer, is that true? His wiki page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yuri_Arcurs) says the same thing. However, no one can believe wiki these days.

Adobe Stock / Fotolia reviwers are bots?
« on: July 08, 2013, 02:41 »
I uploaded batch of photos to Fotolia and submitted couple of images from that batch for review. All of those images got rejected saying they have something similar in their site. Again I submitted another couple of images from the same batch and same thing happened. Then I wanted to delete the rest of the batch without submitting as I felt that they are going to reject them for sure. However I couldn't find how to delete a batch of images in one go. So, what I did was I submitted all of those images with some garbage keywords and same title, for review, assuming they will reject them all. But strangely they accepted them all :D

Do anyone make real money in Fotolia? I started one week before and now I have around 25 images there. No sales yet. I can remember I had sales at SS from very first day. Also I don't know what to submit to FT as they always say they have something similar. But when I search in their gallery they have nothing like that :P I wonder weather it's worth to spend time to submit to FT...

Shutterstock.com / Shutterstock Review
« on: July 01, 2013, 04:55 »
Hello everyone, I have submitted a batch of images to SS two weeks before and still waiting for the acceptance. Are two weeks normal these days for photos? How about vectors and illustrations? I sent an email to them and no response yet.

If I submit a new batch before reviewing previously submitted batch, will it cause to a delay in reviewing first batch? Are photos, illustrations (still JPG) and vectors (EPS) processed in three different lines?
