I think that the video shows the process of installing something probably not friendly for your computer. And the image was downloaded\bought before that.
I may be mistaken but look at the time on his desktop in the right corner and on the file creation time when he selected the image.

Look at the comments here: http://raresoftware.org/shutterstock-free-downloads-shutterstock-pd-v2/

It seems it's really working   :(

The flags dont look right, the flag is superimposed on a crinkle pattern, but it doesnt look right as the coat of arms and the lines are not following the crinkles properly.

Also, you have some really good shots mixed with not so good shots. Boring skies, cluttered backgrounds, and your HDR processing can do with some improvements. Its too heavy on the HDR making the landscapes look a bit over processed.

And I think some images can use a bit more POP which is easy to achieve in post processing.

Agree with Tom, diversity rules.

Thanks for your comments Ron. BTW, what is POP?

The flags are great. I notice that many of them are on the first 2 pages with sort by popular. Only one year on ss and the last 3 months earnings are "$89.95, $127.83, and $171.41". Seems like you're figuring things out nicely on your own.  :D

I think I just had a peak because of some unusual SODs...

I have to agree with Ron and Sean, the textures don't follow the fabric well enough. Even Shutterstock got tired with my flags lately, and rejected all my submissions. So, I'm not submitting them anymore. Now, SS hardly accepts any flags even with better quality. I think they have more than enough flags now.

Even though those flags are in first two pages of my profile, those are not selling well enough. I think just because of the keywords (e.g. flag), they have that popularity. Some of the images in my top 20 are sold for less than 5 times.

Again I have to agree with Ron, given my port size, I too believe that I don't have enough sales. That's why I'm asking for your suggestions.  :)

You're top heavy in your portfolio- branch out more. Food, objects (not flags), and more people (body parts). Don't put all your eggs in just one basket...

Thanks for your suggestions.

I'm a (busy) student and hobbyist photographer. It has been exactly a year since I have joined with SS. I have sold bit more than 2000 copies during that time. In last three months, my SS income are $89.95, $127.83, and $171.41. My goal is to bring my SS income up to $400/month. However, I'm even not halfway through. I'm not interested in submitting to more agencies as I don't have much free time (probably I should try Symbiostock). And I'm not into model photography as well. I really appreciate if you could have a look at my port and highlight my week points and strengths. I welcome all your suggestions which will help me to reach my goal quickly. Thanks in advance.

General Stock Discussion / Best selling stock photographer

Does anyone know who is the current best selling stock photographer? arcurs.com says Yuri Arcurs is the the best selling stock photographer, is that true? His wiki page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yuri_Arcurs) says the same thing. However, no one can believe wiki these days.

They are actual human being reviewers.   :)

How do you know? Are you one of those?  ;)

Yes, I think too! There must be some bots, or reviewer with bad mood, or whatever.
Recently, after long time (years) of not uploading to them, I decided that I will upload the rest of my portfolio to them and they rejected almost everything saying: Similar Image, even to images that are not similar to anything. What is that?!?

I still have few hundreds of photos in unfinished line, but I am not sure whether to submit them now to pending line, or whether it wouldnt be better to wait for some time.

Probably you should do the same as I did, select all and submit them with some garbage keywords. Those bots might accept them all. But the bad thing is you cannot edit keywords or titles later  :-\

No 2 for me about 50% of SS

Thanks for your reply. What kind of images/illustrations do they like? I'm kind of tired of hearing that they have something similar, but haven't given up yet.

I uploaded batch of photos to Fotolia and submitted couple of images from that batch for review. All of those images got rejected saying they have something similar in their site. Again I submitted another couple of images from the same batch and same thing happened. Then I wanted to delete the rest of the batch without submitting as I felt that they are going to reject them for sure. However I couldn't find how to delete a batch of images in one go. So, what I did was I submitted all of those images with some garbage keywords and same title, for review, assuming they will reject them all. But strangely they accepted them all :D

Do anyone make real money in Fotolia? I started one week before and now I have around 25 images there. No sales yet. I can remember I had sales at SS from very first day. Also I don't know what to submit to FT as they always say they have something similar. But when I search in their gallery they have nothing like that :P I wonder weather it's worth to spend time to submit to FT...

Hello everyone, I have submitted a batch of images to SS two weeks before and still waiting for the acceptance. Are two weeks normal these days for photos? How about vectors and illustrations? I sent an email to them and no response yet.

If I submit a new batch before reviewing previously submitted batch, will it cause to a delay in reviewing first batch? Are photos, illustrations (still JPG) and vectors (EPS) processed in three different lines?
