I opted out of the Dollar Photo Club over a year ago, but I've just noticed that my entire portfolio, including recent uploads, is available there.

I've checked my preferences and they are still set at "opt out".  I've sent them a message asking why this is, but it might be worth others checking to make sure their images aren't also showing on there.
Thanks Ruth for the information. I checked in DPC and to my dismay, my images are there. I have sent a mail to support asking them to remove them as in FT preferences, DPC is still showing correctly as opted out (OFF).
I checked just now and my images seemed to have been removed from DPC. My mail to support is still in queue for a response though.

I still upload a JPG separately. Sometimes I add effects (gradient etc) which are not possible to be included in the vector file since I use Inkscape. I sometimes create monochrome JPG versions and they do sell too.

Now there's a 'return to classic view' right at the bottom of the page, way 'below the fold' on my monitor, but I read a post about it over there.
Hopefully it will be moved to a more prominent position soon.
Unless they put it there so that people wouldn't see it, then they could claim no-one was using it. (I wouldn't put it past them.)
Not sure why just a 'show file description' button right under the title wouldn't be better. How would a new potential buyer know it was worthwhile to show the classic view?
Best would be to have the description in full view.

Sue - Is there a way to switch from 'classic' to the 'new' view ? I switched to the 'classic' view; but now I dont see the 'new' view. I tried logging out and back in but have not tried to clear cookies etc.

In the official thread over on iS, they say you have to clear cookies.

Like a buyer is going to love that.
Haven't tried, I only want to see the classic view, except in curiosity/dismay as to what buyers might be seeing.
Seems we're all seeing different things as the developers throw  in all different possibilities.

For some reason, in my apparently up to date version of Chrome, I can't do anything at all there, including search from the front page. As others aren't finding this, I'm going to uninstall/reinstall, though I've a feeling I did  that months ago to work out why I could only get best match as a sort option, and nothing changed.

Thanks Sue ! the cookie clearing worked  :)

The 'rotation wave' finally caught up with me and I was surprised to see (on the image detail page) an ellipsis next to the image title which on mouse over displayed 'See full title'. Thinking that the description would appear if I click on the ellipsis, I went ahead and clicked it. But, it is displaying the first few keywords of the image ! I dont understand it as the keywords are already displayed below the image. I just told myself that this is only a test; when we move into all reals, it will all be fine !

When you click on 'CONTRIBUTOR AREA' you will see 'See My Portfolio' next to 'Your current rank:'.

I think this was not there on the 1st day of the redesign. I noticed it today only.

FYI: The DPC flag ('Sell your files on DPC?') is under the 'Business preferences' section of the 'Contributor area > My preferences'.

Some upload changes observed

> Ability to upload multiple images via webform uploader
> No more Descriptive and Conceptual Categories. Only one 'Category' which is a 3-level one
> Exclusivity? and Free section? default to a 'No'
> Only 'XS' and 'X' shown

> Between 7 and 30 keywords in their order of importance (not 50 as before)

Please see the clarification below from Mat on this.

Hi all, just a quick note to let you know that you can still upload images with a maximum of 50 keywords. It's been determined that the sweet spot for keywords is between 20-30 so the number 30 you have read on the site is a recommendation and not a mandate or change. The language will be changed on the site asap.

This week for me:
- Raster illustration showed up within a couple of hours of approval
- Photos yet to show up though they were approved more than 36 hours ago
- Vector illustration yet to show up and it is about 12 hours since approval

Anyone else? New approved batches not showing up

Yes, it takes longer than before.  :(
Me too. Is it possible that the higher volume of new images every day, is slowing down index build plus other processing for new images thereby taking it longer for new images to actually appear in searches ? I say this because, if you go to 'Portfolio > Approval Status: Images' and click on the approved image IDs, it takes you to the Image details page for the new image. It just seems to take more time for them to appear under the personal portfolio and in searches.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: iStock PP for March as started

Is that huge amount showing as subs?
And a lot more than you usually get?
Or could it be a batch of these 'off-site' sales, in which case you should have got emails.

Haven't got any emails, it's "green bar"(PP) sales. It's almost twice what I was expecting, think maybe I just got lucky.

Is the amount matching with anything in the PP royalties table (http://www.istockphoto.com/help/sell-stock/rate-schedule) ?

I use FileZilla for FTP to Canva. I had issues for the past 2-3 days. I got the message "EACCES - Permission denied error". I checked the internet and found that a firewall block could be a problem. I already had my windows firewall and Norton 360 on my laptop. I realized that the '360 Total Security' which I have been seeing for a few weeks was not anything related to Norton 360. When today, my Google Chrome also failed for a firewall issue, I thought this (360 Total Security) could be the problem. I removed '360 Total Security' and I was able to get Google Chrome working again. I then could get FileZilla to successfully FTP 15 files to Canva !

I thought it was possible that some of you may have issues in the FTP which may not be on the Canva side and perhaps on your system. If this is something that you have already looked into, then please ignore the above message. Thanks !

Different question, how do I correct WB on an image without any white in the image?

Ron - I dont think the picture has WB issues. If this was a rejection from SS, the reason that you would have received I would assume would be the 'Poor Lighting' pack (exposure / lighting / WB). You may want to look at perhaps making some changes to the exposure (like maybe increase it by 0.10 in LR). Just a thought.

White Balance -- The incorrect white balance setting was used.

OK Ron :) I always get the 'Poor Lighting' pack as a reason and if in case you had received the same, I thought you could look at the other options.

Stocksy / Re: Changes At Stocksy
« on: March 03, 2015, 23:22 »
A little off topic but didn't want to start a new thread.  Can any of you Stocksy folks tell me what their file size requirements are?  I've looked through both old MSG threads as well as the Stocksy site to no avail.  It's probably mentioned somewhere, but I couldn't find it.  I'm preparing a submission for this year's "Call to Artists," and want to know what is the minimum file size they'll accept (excluding phone camera files).

Many thanks in advance!

For last year (2014), they had mentioned 6 MP for a minimum of 25 photos. No upsampling/increased file sizes. They also said yes to mobile and film scans.

Since I have a small port (<100), is it better for me to delete the images (one by one) and then request the closure of my account ?

Envato does a "soft deactivation" when you ask them to close your account, in case you ever want to come back. If you want your stuff gone completely, you can delete images manually from the Edit menu.

You can also do this after soft deactivation. I've been deleting some of mine since being deactivated. I don't plan on going back unless they change the tax policy, raise royalty rates for non-exclusives, and raise prices. And since none of those 3 things are likely to happen (no way all 3 ever will), I know I'm out permanently and I don't mind that my portfolio is just as permanently emptied.

Thanks Mike for the information. A small portfolio and a non-seller is a easy decision for me to go ahead and delete the images. I am in the process of deleting them and then I will ask them to close my account. Thanks again for the reply and the information that you had provided in your earlier posts  :)

@Lee - As of today, how long will it take for images sent to ftp.canva.com to show up under my portfolio (waiting for review) ? I did an upload of 15 images on 26-Feb-15 and so far, I dont see them. The ones that I uploaded (in Oct-2014) are the ones that I am able to see.

I don't know.  My guess would be not less than two months.  Sorry I can't give you anything more specific.

Thanks Lee. So, if I upload any images today, it will show up in my portfolio in about 2 months. It will show up initially as 'In Review' and after that it will get reviewed. As long as I am using the ftp.canva.com and the password that was sent earlier, I should feel safe in transmitting my files. Am I right ?
- Thanks !
