ss should sand a very polite e mail to  contributors opted in and ask them... very very politely - to opt out

ss will (probably) never introduce exclusivity - that would be race to the top with commission - fotolia, for example, to survive - would need to go with at least 80%  commission for contributors - and big question is - would ft survive in new circumstances

if it happens - only two agencies will survive - ss and is - btw - with dollar photo club fotolia is tempting  fate - if they don t change something with dpc - they will disappear one way or another

Just a note: i don't feel beining punished for opting out (opted out on may 1, even deleted files from Fotolia), sale are going fine, getting nice credit sale to. Such a pity Fotolia don't concentrate the effort on those instead o this DPC madness.

same here

I suspect that the real reason that some people are so quick to take these type of deals see it as an opportunity to enhance their incomes by taking advantage of reduced competition.

this is essential - great post - dpc problem

I'm OK if you guys want to make it personal if it makes you feel better. But really, it's not personal and I'm entitled to my opinion.

it is not personal - you are working against the interest of majority of us - so don t be astonished if we condemn your attitude...

After you send me money for all of my equipment and time spent on my images, then you can sit in judgment and tell me what to do.

You have stated on this and other forums that stock photography for you is a hobby. You also confess to also being an average photographer - your words not mine.

And I would not disagree with your view about that.

Assuming you have a full time occupation and this 'stock thing' is just for 'pin money' your views on the DT deal is bound to be completely different from others here that make their living from photography.

I really don't have a problem with guys like you making a few bucks from your hobby.

But please respect the views of full time photographers that depend on selling their images to live and support their families.

You might want to take a moment to think about that Mr Hainer while you're spending your pocket money and ask not why we judge you.

Actually, I'm a full-time photographer. Stock photography is just one revenue stream. About 20 percent of my annual income. I think you have me confused with someone else.

No I don't think so. I quoted comments you have made previously on Shutterstock forums.

It would also appear your views aren't too popular there either if you don't mind me saying.

And if you are indeed a full time photographer (as you now appear to be saying) then I have no comment.

Mouth open.

.... I don't think so... too................... - and my income is 100% ms

often I have a feeling that  reviewers "own" ss - and that ss can do nothing against them - mr. scottbraut is a vary polite person - but it seems that  reviewers do what they want to do - and nobody can stop them  - very strange situation

DPC and opt out shows about the only way we can get the attention of some agencies.

The problem is, as individuals most of us are too small to be able to make a difference.  As a group we "fight" too much to join together.... Can we put aside our fighting long enough to build something to be able to make a difference?

We have joined together and made a difference. Fotolia offered an opt out only after we did that. I see the glass as half full here. For maybe the first time, a very large group of people from all corners of the world joined together to take action against a microstock agency. If there's a next time, we know joining together will work. And since we have this success under our belts, we can probably reach even more people next time. We've shown that we have some power. We're not alone, and we're not too small to make a difference.

street protests in big eu and usa cities could be our next step

By default, all Fotolia content is opted in for sale at the Dollar Photo Club (DPC), but sales there do not count towards your Fotolia level. The contributor receives a subscription royalty (according to level) on each sale.

The part about "DPC sales not counting towards the Fotolia ranking level is not true.

One DPC sales counts like a regular sub sale at Fotolia (1/4).

"...is not true." .... - harsh word - you could say : "... it is not correct."

do you mean "since"?

"until" means to me that you had more credit sales before!

yes - "since" - I have changed it -

...since i opted out of dpc ( 1. may) i have even more credit sales at ft - could it be that credit buyers buy for one dollar at dpc - and when they see that some image, like mine, is not in dpc - they buy it on ft -

...so those who are opted in will sale their images for 1 dollar (earning 0,30 or something) and I will sale my images at ft  earning  2 or 3 credits (dollars -euros) -

....if this is a case - its fine with me

Just got an 0.80 sub for an XL

that is ft s  idea -  kill credit sales with a little bit lager  commisions  at subs

Seems like the royalties are not showing as 100% on today's sales, are other's seeing this?
That's normal (from previous Punctum days).
Some time later (a couple of weeks?) we'll get the rest added.
Some confidence you have  8)
I still have confidence in iStock doing what they say. (Unlike some other sites).
My problem with them is that the things they say they will do are usually not good for me.
They may be asterisks, but at least they are honest asterisks.

it s true - they do not lie - and sometimes they are very comical  -

lying to thousands of people - like one other  agency often do... is very... very ... morbid...

149
... ft should call off dpc - no so called improvements can improve something completely wrong like  dpc ...

....then... they have to admit that they tried something deeply wrong - this way... they can show some real strength... for the first time...
