Why do none of these freaken art sites read IPTC ?!?!!?!?!?
Yeah I just tried to upload one and saw that right away. Didn't matter at this time, because the upload never completed :-) but of course it's a beta site, not expecting things to work smoothly all the time.
I just sent Crated an email, asking about IPTC data, and also whether images would be forced to standard sizes (5x7, 8x10). I said that both these issues are potential non-starters for me. And by "potential non-starters" I mean total, absolute non-starters.
What is their email? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Thank you!

Hello Steve, Thank you for your response. I sent you an email two day ago. I am having trouble uploading my images. Do we need to crop to certain proportions? All of my vertical images look wonky when I try to upload them. It looks like they are being made shorter and wider. They are the same proportions as my horizontal images, which look like they will be fine. These are standard sizes from a dslr camera. Thank you, BD

Are you all talking about a class action lawsuit? I am asking because I believe attorneys in class action suits are reimbursed only if they win or settle, and it comes out of that money as decided by the court.

Reselling the images like this on POD sites may be allowed by some stock sites extended license, but him/her claiming to be the photographer (and thus copyright holder) would not be.

I asked DP if this is partner site and here's the reply:
"I have checked the links you sent. Popscreen website (http://www.popscreen.com/... my image) uses your image illegally. We contacted with the website management and warn them regarding a copyright infringement. As for the second link (http://fototapetygdansk.pl... my image) the image is used with Stock Image watermark. The image was stolen from the istockphoto website (www.istockphoto.com) and the image is used illegally as well.
These wesites are not our partners."
You better check this sites out!
That site dekorowalnia.pl has my images with an author name I only use at DP. I also checked the image numbers. They are the exact same numbers as DP. It has to be some sort of partner.

Does 500px plan on having an option in the future for contributors to automatically have a 500px watermark on their images (something like what Fine Art America does where contributors can choose to use the watermark or not)? Im not talking about prime, but on the regular site. I tried uploading an image with my watermark first and then without and it didnt work (both images were on the site and they werent connected). I ended up deleting my account because it seemed too complicated, and it seemed like it would be a pain to keep watermarking images to upload there. If I uploaded to 500px it would be some of my bestsellers and I dont want to leave those open to theft. Thank you for coming on here and answering our questions.

I'm not on Fotolia, but was wondering because I was thinking about joining. Don't they make all images that haven't sold in 6 months level 1? So those images would be offered for the 20 credit (several dollars for you) as an extended license and there is no opt out? Also, the extended license at Fotolia allows POD.
The EL Price is not affected by this. It will stay at whatever you set it, even if the regular credits sales price goes down. Mine are all still at 100 for the EL.

It's an option on upload, something like "if this image is not accepted do you want to send it to the free section?" There was some confusion as to the default, send or not to send but that was because the uploaders didn't read the info by the click box. You can set the default to go or not go and they don't take even everything that isn't accepted. There aren't that many images there. It's a way of sending viewers to the paid site and they have similar paid images displayed under the free images that click through to the main site.

Is there a line anywhere in the 500px license that states images with models cannot be used in pornographic or defamatory ways? I looked, but I wasnt seeing it. This is pretty standard on most model releases.

I use a different username on DP than other stock sites. My images from DP are now gone from Shotshop, Photogenica and iBudgetphoto. I did a google search with my username, though, and found them on some other sites (although it looks like some of them are no longer available for download and are just showing up in the google search). Has anyone tried submitting directly to Photogenica? There is a sell your images area at the bottom. If so, any sales? It looks like a lot of work to submit directly if the sales are sparse. Right now my images are still there from Depositphotos despite the fact they were supposed to be removed by March 8.
