1 mil 700 tomatoes and a lot of marijuana.  that is an impressive amount of inventory.

And with a long shelf life.

134,000 weed images and over 1 million tomatoes as of today

The problem is not so much that the inspections are strict, but more that they are inconsistent. Which means that thousands of inferior and blatantly similar images will still squeeze through.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Which gender sells more in general?
« on: November 28, 2015, 20:13 »
Based on average RPI for new files, I would say transgender is best selling right now. Transgender moose, of course, is the key to financial independence.

They are hard to find these days. On my last trip to Everglades I didn't see a single one. Could be the proliferation of the  Burmese pythons has something to do with it. Or too many transgender moose in the recent past.

As I was taking pictures of bald eagles, I found out the females are bigger but the males are cuter and more photogenic.  Neither gender sells that well anymore.

How does Corel Draw compare to Adobe Illustrator for vectors? Is anybody using this program?

Some people participate in endless debate "Corel Draw vs Adobe Illustrator", wise people use the best of the both worlds. It is much faster and more effective to build main geometry of the vectors in Corel Draw. Adding special effects, working with colors - this is better implemented in Adobe Illustrator. I do main composition framework in CD, then paint  and color it in AI. Resulting EPS file will be more accurate if generated in AI.

Thank you for the useful and practical info. How about auto tracing - would you use Live Trace in AI or Corel Draw? Or is the choice dependent also on  the type of image?

From November 25th through November 30th, Topaz Labs is making available their complete collection of artistic filters and photo enhancements at 50% off.
The entire collection includes by now 17 programs/plugins in total, some of them functioning also in standalone mode.
Personally, although I tried most of their programs, I like and use mainly the following plugins on regular basis - Remask, Denoise, Clarity, Detail, Adjust and Impression.

Here is the link:
TOPAZ COMPLETE COLLECTION

Use the following discount coupon to get the complete Topaz package for $249.99

This really isn't an ideal way to make the fix - although I do appreciate getting the error corrected. They need more detailed reporting for payments...

Maybe they could add a new payment category - Corrections/Adjustments

I got an email from someone who bought 1000 SS shares 3 days ago, sold it today, and cleared almost $6,000.
Beats shooting. editing and submitting pictures.

from where i am today, the large preview is about what? 600 by 300 or something.
that is not that big. to print an 8 by 10 ins print you need at least 3MP
. 600 by 300 won't even print anything risky.

I hate to repeat myself, but you see 600 pixels because the browser was instructed to scale it down. If you right-click on Save or Inspect image, you'll see  that the retrieved image is actually 1500 pixels wide or high.

The maths is quite speculative and you have to make lots of assumptions but the conclusion seems to be you have to upload at a high rate to maintain earnings but its not the meltdown that some people suggest.

It's not a meltdown, more like a significant dilution of agency image collection. The golden advice of "uploading a higher rate" invariably leads to greater volume of similar images (more difficult and more time-consuming search for buyers), faster image production (which in turn often leads to lower quality), and remanufacturing many same old images with just a different lens or a new software plugin.

Yep, they look smaller

They made them, indeed, look smaller. Because the shown picture is resized just prior to the actual display.
If you right-click on the previewed image and save it, the image will be saved as 1500 pixels on the longer side.

So, Les, is the intent to deceive us so we feel more confident? Lull us into complacence? Sure seems like that.

Geez.

Martha, I wouldn't want to speculate about the intent, but some may interpret it that way.
And then there will be others, who won't bother figuring out the intent at all, but will get busy saving those large images.

How about Vimeo? They state that as a contributor with Vimeo Pro ($199/year), one keeps 90% of the proceeds.

Well, maybe to one class of investors or top execs who were awarded SS shares without making any real investments.

Regular shareholders who invested into SS shares at $50 or more, don't reap any benefits (no dividends or share appreciation), and most probably lost a bundle.

Currently it is almost 500 000 new images every week. That is 2 million new images every month

If 500 000 images are accepted in a week, assuming a 50% acceptance rate, 1 million images are uploaded every week.
If the acceptance rate is 25%, then 2 million images are uploaded every week. That would correspond with over 100 million submitted images in one year.
Not too many contributors can keep up with this. Unless they submit 100 similars for each concept.

Software - General / Re: Topaz Remask 5
« on: August 31, 2015, 03:30 »
The fact that the program works now also in standalone mode is quite useful, both for people who don't own a Photoshop or even for isolations and simple compositing which could be now done on a separate computer without Photoshop. Using Remask 5 in standalone mode, you can cut out an element quickly from an image, finetune the mask, and then replace the masked out portion with white (or any other color), or with another background image, such as clouds or water. The final composited image can be saved as JPG, TIF or PNG file.

Thank you for mentioning the free rebroadcast.
It is quite useful to see all CC additions in one segment. There are so many, it would be hard to find about them otherwise.

Some agencies (i.e. SS, FT) specify 18 years as the minimum age, others (i.e. picfair) do no have any age limit
