For many of us, EL sales are rare and when we do get one it is cause for a celebration. So if you have gotten an EL sale recently, post the image here! Of course I created this topic because I got an EL sale today, so I shall start.  First EL from LuckyOliver, this * image has 1445 views (It is on the first page of google search "yellow star" or something) and has never sold until today. $25, which means I might actually have a chance of getting a payout from LO in the next year! I often wonder how long its going to take for my files to be reviewed, so this would give me a good idea how long the wait currently is. This can be strategically helpful for Shutterstock. (Don't submit when files will be new on weekend)

About 7 months ago I submitted about 20 files. After 3 weeks of not being reviewed I just deleted them and said forget it. But I thought I should give them another chance, after seeing people making a little money there (from the september sales reports). So I uploaded some files. Well.. it's been 10 days now and nothing. How long has it been taking for you all? ;\

I am looking to buy a new camera here soon, I have about $1200 to spend on the camera and lens(s). I have been looking at the XTI, but I would like to hear what you more experienced photographers have to say. As for the lens, I'd like it to be good overall, decent at close ups, decent at distances. Would rather only have 1 lens. Any advice is appreciated.

What do you do?- Simply go to the previous posters link and comment on his/her image. Then post one of your images with the PUBLIC link so someone can return the favor! You can also just link people to your gallery and let them pick what image to comment on. Why do it?- The 10 most recent commented on images appear on the front page of LO and at other various places. They also boost the images ranking in the search results. Rules:- Do not post negative comments. - You obviously can not post twice in a row. Well, Chicago was just announced the US city that will be bidding. Other cities that are bidding: Madrid, Rome, Tokyo, Doha, and Rio De Janeiro among others. Chicago beat Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, and Philadelphia to be the US backed city. Chicago Mayor, Richard Daley, jumping out of his chair once Chicago was declared the winner.   So what city would you lot like to see host? I am rooting for Chicago, just in case you couldn't notice.

Got a download on LuckyOliver, it shows the .30 under the current balance. But everything else says 0.
I assume nobody noticed this before since sales on LO are a bit slow.

I have noticed that uploading new files on Thursday and Friday is a bad idea. The submissions will get reviewed and put into the search database just in time for the weekend slow down. So by Monday your files won't be fresh and at the top of the search results. (Newest first, the default)
Last weekend I uploaded late Saturday night but they didn't get reviewed until late Monday. Going to try Saturday at about noon this weekend. It's a science I tell ya!

I just recently signed up to Istockphoto and my god uploading is a pain in the ass.
Lately on Shutterstock I would use all 50 or close to all 50 keywords. Copying and pasting those into Istockphoto then going through them all takes a couple minutes which really adds up. Then selecting the categories is another major pain in the ass.
What is your method for getting this done quickly, or should I say quicker.

I have always saved and uploaded my illustrations as JPEG's because I don't really know how to do the whole EPS stuff. I make all my illustrations in Adobe Photoshop, so they arn't exactly vector, they have lots of gradients and such. I have tried importing the .psd file into Illustrator then saving it as a .eps but the file size is almost always over 100mbs. Am I doing something wrong? I see vectors up that are more complex than some of my work that always ends up being over 100mbs. Please help. Example of something I have tried making into EPS that resulted in 180mb file:

I was wondering if anyone else is having a bug on Shutterstock. It doesn't seem to be updating the amount of downloads you have gotten. Mine hasn't gone up in about 5 hours, and usually this is the prime time where I got about 20 downloads yesterday. I talked with a friend who is on SS and the same is happening with him. Anyone else or is this just a odd coincidence?

Got a couple of suggestions for it:
1. At the bottom of current balance put a "total"
2. Could possibly add a "Downloads per day" "Average DL per day" and "Average Profit per day"
3. Give the option to minimize it to the tray.
4. Have the option to not include some of the sites, so you don't see "wrong login"

OK I am looking to submit my photo application for Istockphoto. Most of my work are illustrations, but not vector. In the illustration category it says you must provide a .eps file. I don't have that. The other category is "Image", which seems more like what these are, but the entire application is about photography and has nothing about illustrations. I dunno which one to submit to.  EDIT: I suppose I could have asked this on Istock forums but well. I already had this open.

Am I the only one that noticed awkward patterns in the amount of views for your submissions?
Some days every photo will get like five views, but others they won't get any. Yesterday for example, I had 3 photos above 10 views (just started there about a week ago), today I have 25.
It just seems fishy. Almost as if they are giving you views to think their site is active. (I have only had 1 sale out of about 600 views total)
