123RF / Re: 0 sales
« on: May 15, 2017, 23:28 »
My sales from a portfolio of over 10,000 images have tanked to less than 25% of what they were. Rumors are 123 are being bought out soon. They operate a tiered earnings system.

My gut conclusion, although I don't want to believe it, is that they are reducing their costs by actively lowering everyone's payment level to make the company appear more profitable and more attractive to their potential buyers. Similar to the rumor of SS gearing their search to lower tier images to reduce payments, except in this case there would seem to be a much clearer reason for it.

On current earnings I will drop two, maybe three levels, was level 5.

So SS say delete these images or they close your whole account?

So what is the problem? How many images are they asking to be deleted? From a portfolio of how many images?

I don't shoot models but if this were me I would delete a handful of images rather than lose income on a whole portfolio. It obviously still earns you enough to worry about otherwise why not just let them close the account? You have earned from these images to date and $hit happens. I am in UK and I have previously photographer National Trust locations and then had them removed by SS because NT complained. Much rather that than SS close my whole account and I lose everything from there.

SS have confirmed the sales will appear under SODs, haven't they also previously stated that SOD sales pay 30%, so contributors will receive 30% of $19.99 i.e. $5.97.
Still not great if you are selling POD elsewhere but certainly better than a sub payment

Ingimage;

Payout quarterly and you get stung for Paypal fees. I have over 5000 files and receive, if I'm lucky, 60 a quarter. Small scale setup, not worth the effort really. I uploaded in bulk when I joined and stopped uploading new stuff within a year when seeing such little return.

Maybe the change is not to the release itself but more around the policy of it. SS are saying that if a model signed a release, for example 7 years ago, should that same release still be valid if you rework the images, composite them into new images, etc? They are saying that the model should sign a new release which relates to the images you want to produce now. They are making sure that the model is aware of the new work you are wanting to produce and have agreed to it.

What they don't say is how much they are clawing back. We cannot determine which images were sold during that 12 hour period, we only have what they say we should have been paid. They can take back what they like and not have to prove it is accurate with any sort of sales record provided to us.

The email I got said exactly how much in $$ they were taking back - not the # of images though.

You may want to check the email, what it says is how much you should have earned, not what they are taking back. SEE BELOW;

"Last week, we had a display issue that affected your Contributor Dashboard. The issue caused your earnings for each download during a 12-hour time period to be doubled. That 12 hour period was from 9:45pm Eastern Time on Thursday, August 11th to 10:30am Eastern Time on Friday, August 12th.

We have fixed the issue, and, in the next day or so, you will see your earnings for August corrected. The correct amount you earned for August 11th and 12th during that 12-hour period is: $XX.XX.

As you know, we are investing heavily in upgrading the technology that powers Shutterstocks infrastructure, website, and mobile apps, to deliver improved functionality and a better overall user experience.

Thank you for your understanding.

Shutterstock Contributor Support Team"

It only says what your earnings during this 12 hour period were, not how much they are clawing back. My earnings over the two days were over $150, which is a slightly better than average day but not unheard of, but they say my earnings for the 12 hour period was single digits.

« on: July 24, 2016, 13:02 »
Anybody having trouble loading the DT home page? Used to go straight in, kept me logged in, everything normal. Then yesterday page just wouldn't load. Tried it on Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari and none of them loading the page. Checked "Is it down for everyone" but it came back saying web address is available.

Anyone else?

Someone who believes customers will search for them by name rather than by keywords for an image they want?

Saw something recently, can't recall where, along lines of;

"If a kid in a playground is hitting the other kids with a stick, you don't give all the kids a stick, you take away the one stick so no one gets hurt."

I thought it kinda summed up gun laws/control in the US for me.

« on: June 16, 2016, 04:25 »
My March payment was 17th of month, April payment 20th of month and May payment 16th of month. Before that every month since I started in 2010 payment was no later than 15th so it is only a recent issue. I am still waiting for payment this month also.

Same, been trying to upload for two days and FTP won't even connect so cannot upload

65
I just turned off all my WEB and PEL licensing.

Same here, only get them once in a blue moon from DT anyway so no big loss. Pretty poor regarding lack of communication to us though

Good old times when footage review time was one day, maybe 2.
And now over one week and still in review queue.

Hi Shelma,

Is there a minimum size for scanned images of sketches? Is it the same as for photos being submitted? I appreciate each site has different requirements but if there was a minimum which covers all sites, what size would it have to be?

Quick question about layouts if someone knows the answer please?

Can I create a layout using one of my images and then sell it as a layout and make more money?

For example, if I take a landscape image of mine and put some inspirational quote over the top of it?

Photoshop Discussion / Re: Windows 10 and CS6
« on: August 13, 2015, 02:43 »
Taken from; https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/Windows_10_compatibility_FAQ.html

Adobe and Microsoft have worked closely together to test Adobe Creative Cloud applications for reliability, performance, and user experience when installed on Intel-based systems running Windows 10. The latest versions of all Adobe Creative Cloud products are compatible.

FAQ

Are Creative Cloud applications supported on Windows 10?
Yes. The latest versions of all Creative Cloud applications are compatible with Windows 10.

Do any of the Adobe Creative Cloud applications require updates to be compatible with Windows 10?
No. In our testing, we have found no significant issues with running Creative Cloud products with Windows 10.

Is Adobe aware of any issues, bugs, or odd user experiences when using Creative Cloud applications or Adobe Acrobat products with Windows 10?
Windows 10 includes a new web browser called Microsoft Edge, in addition to Internet Explorer 11. Currently, the Microsoft Edge browser does not support the Acrobat PDF plug-in. Internet Explorer 11, along with other major Windows browsers, continues to support the Acrobat PDF plug-in. Additionally, see this knowledgebase article to resolve an MSVCR110.dll-related issue while using Creative Cloud apps on Windows 10.

How do I report any issues that arise?
If you encounter any issues, report them on our bug reporting form. https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform&loc=en

I use some plug-ins with my current version of Creative Cloud applications. Are these plug-ins compatible with Windows 10?
Customers are encouraged to check plug-in compatibility by contacting the plug-in vendor before upgrading to Windows 10. For third-party products, contact the manufacturer for guidance.

Does Adobe offer technical support for its products running on Windows 10?
Adobe offers support to customers running Windows 10 in accordance with our standard customer support policies. Visit the support page for additional information about our support programs.

Are trial versions of individual products compatible with Windows 10?
Yes. If a full version of a product is compatible with Windows 10, then the trial version of that product is compatible as well. Any known issues described in this document also apply to the trial versions.

SIX YEAR OLD - OLD THREAD ALERT

75
Last month I had 2 ELs refunded, total $75. Contacted 123 and they said it was a refund for a test their IT department did - last August!

That was it, end of discussion, $75 gone from my account with no real explanation.

I asked them why it was not taken out of account straight after the test had been completed - no response.

I asked them why it had taken them 11 months to take it back out - no response.

If this is genuine then I obviously should never have received it in the first place, I get that, but 11 months to rectify it and offer no explanation, apology or anything???

Not professional and not really acceptable but there is nothing I can do.
