I had no sales on either, which is why when someone on another site pointed to the distracting elements on one side that I forgot to remove I thought I would upload the updated ones.  I never knew it could lead to outright rejection of them after they had been accepted.  Never again will I do that.

Rosta,

Did you receive a reply from StockXpert?

I have a couple of images for which I think I did a small improvement (after DT rejected them) and I always thought of resubmitting, so I wonder if it's worth the trouble.

Regards,
Adelaide

I would avoid resubmitting to StockXpert. A few days after one of my images was approved I used the "Replace File" function to upload an identical image that was just higher megapixels. They rejected it due to "keyword spamming". Funny thing is, I didn't touch the keywords. Seems like a pretty broken and inconsistent process. I emailed support and am waiting for a response.

It wasn't a resubmit, it was just a replace file, I hadn't deleted the old ones, I used the replace button on the editing page.

why do inspecters have the right to reject updated images of already accepted photos for reasons that are not technical?

I haven't heard back from suppost yet.  What bothers me is that they were accepted already, all I did was remove some background oddities that I had missed and they get rejected for "artistic" reasons.  I don't think I should be "punished" for uploading an updated version of the same photo just because the new reviewer has different taste than the old one.
I have done some work on images that DT reject with a "can resubmit" and had them accepted the second time.

Last week I took two images that had been accepted by StockXpert but needed some cleaning up in the background.  I uploaded the cleaned up images and both were rejected, neither for technical reasons.  One said "try a different angle" and the other said "we are not accepting such images right now."  I've written to support but I am really burning about this.

...The amount of money they make from us, they should employ someone just to stop these sites stealing images.

Istock implies that they will fight legal battles for exclusive photographers to protect the images. I can't get you the exact link & quote since IS is offline for maintenance.

in this instance I can't see how istock can fight for the exclusive images only as the stolen images bear the istock logo whether they are exclusive or not.  It's not a case of Istock being able to say..maybe they got it somewhere else

Ratings aside, I have had two images that fellow members found slight and easily correctable problems with.  Once they pointed them out, I could see them clearly and immeaditly corrected the images and resubmitted them.  Both these images have been up on some of the big six for months;  none of the "inspectors" had noticed the problems.
I am now updating sites with  the corrected images.

I wrote to them and asked how they can grant use of collages made from images that were either taken from online store catalogs or off of image sale sites (complete with watermark).  Their terms of service state that a user must be at least thirteen years old.  I'll post their reply, if I get one

Kind of long but I pulled this off their terms of service.  Apparently it is not "cool" with them for their users to post watermarked and protected images.

Wow, and I always thought I was a left brain person, especially since I am right handed and told I make technically correct but boring images.  I saw her clockwise and no amount of refocusing, squinting or trying could get her to change direction.

I'm ashamed to admit that although IS was the first agenecy to accept me, in the two years I have been there I have only gotten 47 images accepted (somewhat less than 50%).  Every couple of months I try and concentrate on them but get distracted by other agencies where my portfolio is larger and so is my return.  For the last four days at IS I have been sitting 37 cents short of a payout with no dls.   This is not a cry for help, just venting, I know it's my own fault.

One of the technically worst photos I ever submitted somewhere had been accepted by FT and to my surprise, keeps getting downloads, two just last week.

Well my payout from them that had been "pending" since mid September has finally been paid and I've started getting sales there again.  But I still can't find my own images by keyword.  Oh well, at least other people do.

Ten out of ten for effort.

But is anyone here a member? Any personal experiences to relate? And ... more important ... any sales? 70% of 0 is 0

It's tough setting up in this business now. Good luck!

Everyone has to start somewhere, unless they can afford to buy an image base, remember Totally Photos.
I actually sold the first image I uploaded there while the rest were still awaiting approval.  And when I logged in yesterday my earnings had jumped from 50% to 70%.
I have had two small problems in the site, they are still beta, and each time I emailed support and received a personal and polite reply thanking me for making them aware of the problem, followed by another email when the problem had been taken care of.
I know I have only a handful of images up there right now, but that will soon be changing.
