Adobe Stock / Re: Question about ancient history (2018)
« on: December 04, 2024, 23:33 »
I see a small peak in earnings at the very end of October, which was my 2nd best month in 2018 after April. Nothing unusual in November however.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Cavan Images???« on: November 04, 2024, 23:00 »I hear you, but I don't have to pay to sell my videos. They give you the option. Yes, they are content exclusive. Not contributor exclusive. Not even premium agencies would require that these days. Pond5, Shutterstock, Adobe Stock accept AI, true. However, they do not ask exclusivity in any shape or form. Plus, they don't pretend to be high-end stock agencies. Cavan pretends to be a high-end agency where the "artist wins". Instead, they are a small little known agency, who conconted a brilliant idea that benefits just them. One puts time and effort in creating content and should earn from it, which is why an exclusive portfolio in a little known agency is never a good idea. 3
General Stock Discussion / Re: Cavan Images???« on: November 02, 2024, 23:20 »
I would not touch Cavan with a ten-foot pole.
They want exclusivity AND they want you to pay for selling your work. They accept generative AI, which is an indicator where this agency is heading to. Their "Mission To 100%" ensures that they sound good and at the same time, get their money (photos don't just sit there, the contributor pays for selling, and sends in good stuff that sells). This is actually brilliant. Cavan are distributors. So they take their share, and the distributor takes their share. The contributor does the work gets the crumbs that fall on the floor. If you PAY for selling your work, and HAPPEN to get sales, you get 100% for their sales and 50% of the partner sales. At any rate, I believe portfolio exclusivity is not a good idea these days. And definitely not to Cavan. - edited due to typos 4

I have emailed support about it. 6
Bigstock.com / Re: Bigstock earnings« on: October 23, 2024, 08:08 »
Got it too. Logged in my Bigstock account and claimed my earnings. The email sounded indeed strange (so strange that I thought it's better NOT to click any links, just to be sure), so if you have earnings on your account, it's better just claim them.

Adobe Stock / Re: All Contributors: Strike Adobe Until We Can Opt-Out of AI« on: October 21, 2024, 22:35 »Exactly, the "stolen" sky of another artist is perfectly fine when it is useful for them. same for rainbows, a face swap, adding just a few flowers, just extending the image... A photographer with any self-respect won't use "stolen" skies or any other stolen material (ie generative fill). How I see it: If you are against generative AI crap, you won't soil your hands with it. 8
Print on Demand Forum / Photo4Me Upload Issue« on: October 20, 2024, 23:15 »
I've uploaded a few hundred of photos suitable for wall art on Photo4Me over the years.
Their uploader used to be quite simple and straightforward. Nowadays they have this AI monstrosity where you'll have to fill a form and then it automatically creates gibberish descriptions and strange keywords. Yes, it's that annoying cheery and fake AI language. Has anybody figured out how to get past it, quickly enough? You can edit the information when the image is published, but this slows down the process considerably. If there's no way past it, I think it's better not to upload at all. 9

Are Adobe customers allowed to AI-modify Illustrative Editorial images as well?
Does anybody know? 10

Are Adobe customers allowed to AI-modify Illustrative Editorial images as well?
I see an increasing number my editorial-use-only content sold as "custom" - can somebody explain what is the Adobe custom license? Does it ONLY refer to AI, or what is it exactly? Glad to see sales, but would like to know the details. 12

Mostphotos.com / Re: Folio images?« on: August 21, 2024, 07:21 »
Thanks for your input, Big Money. Sorry to hear that they suck for you!
I'm mostly wondering if it's worth applying to another premium agency - is there any serious sales potential, as these images would be exclusive anyway? What will sell, if anything? Any Folio contributors out there? 14
Mostphotos.com / Folio images?« on: August 19, 2024, 06:38 »
Any experience on Folio Images? They're a premium site under Mostphotos. Lots of people and landscapes, RF only, high prices. Applying seems easy but I wonder if it's worth it.

Adobe Stock / Re: when do the free photo collection nominations happen?« on: May 23, 2024, 06:14 »
Not going to nominate any of my selected images.
Some of them are already good sellers on Adobe and others even more so on other agencies. Also, I value my work enough not to give any "free photos". I respect other photographers enough not to endorse free photos. 17
General Photography Discussion / Re: Should AI images be offered cheaper and authentic photos more expensive?« on: March 16, 2024, 03:09 »
Yes.
AI can't make anything that's AUTHENTIC. Can't do news. Can't do illustrative editorial. Can't do anything real. AI can make pictures, but most of them are crap. 18

Great post, DiscreetDuck!
I used these websites for test purpose to build a watermark not easy to remove. The key is that it has to merge with the design. You can use these websites to your advantage too, if you want to sell by yourselfGameover, You would see the advantages of dropping an atomic bomb, because it can also regulate the proliferation of bacteria...? 22

Adobe Stock / Re: Announcing the Adobe Stock policy on generative AI content« on: January 10, 2023, 23:32 »
Wonderful, Adobe & Mat! This new policy is totally in line with abolishing the bonus code for 2023. Screw human artists! Bring on the robots!
I don't think I'll bother with photography any more. I'll get an army of robots and train them to blab text commands to robotic AI software night and day. These smart robots will vacuum pics generated by other robots, re-order pixels and create brilliant new pictures. (some say that's crap but they're only jealous, and live under a rock or something) Soon I'll have a portfolio of 100 Million brilliant AI images on Adobe Stock. I will be so rich! I will buy a villa in some place tropical, heck, I will buy an island of my own! I will buy a luxury plane that makes royalty, presidents and celebs jealous! Thank you Adobe, you made my day. Screw artists, Robots are our future. 25

Why go all through that trouble when you can excel in photography or creating illustrations, learn and do great work on Photoshop and with other image editors yourself? If you have patience, skill and willingness to learn that is? Besides, It is always a good idea to read the terms of service. You can't even be the copyright owner. |
