General Stock Discussion / Re: Extended License« on: April 24, 2007, 17:19 »Everywhere I read about people getting EL's. I'm around since December on 6 sites with 300-500 pictures and I haven't had any. i'm also waiting for my first one... i sometimes wonder if i ever going to sell one. at SS i don't even have found where is it shown, where is it? just have to wait, i suppose 129
Shutterstock.com / Re: the reject everything i send now« on: April 14, 2007, 15:59 »Just a note however, they have knocked a lot back after using the noise software, so i dont use it anymore and have had much better luck. i had to learn it the hard way, but now have no rejections for noise reason. ninja noise is not easy to use... it could generate artifacts, so be careful. i use ninja the same way sharply_done does, and also use the blur tool on dark and out of focus areas (that way i get rid of noise and artifacts at the same time). hope this help you, litifeta Luca 130
Shutterstock.com / Re: Best day to upload?« on: April 11, 2007, 17:45 »It's been my personal experience that I have the best luck uploading images only i don't know why... but it happens to me too... all the time!! Luca 131
Shutterstock.com / Re: the reject everything i send now« on: April 11, 2007, 17:42 »Somehow I allmost never have rejection because of noise anymore, my good old D60 , however, weired things are happening to me, probably coincidence. If I submit one image at a time, which I have a done a lot the last months, it allmost never gets rejected, when I upload more, most times I have a really high rejection rate. i noticed in my case, that they reject all, or accept all... no matter how many there are in the bunch. obviusly, if you upload 1 you just risk 1. iStockPhoto.com / Re: Disambiguation II« on: April 11, 2007, 16:41 »latex: Do you find the quality of the images on IS to be superior to those found elsewhere? I'm curious, too, about the variety. Given that the major agencies have about the same quantity of images, why do you think the variety at IS is better? mmm... interesting questions... i think the quality is superior, yes. about the variety, i suppose they reject more non exclusives images, but i really don't know the answer to that. maybe another reason is the limits for non exclusives, we have smaller portfolios on IS than on the other sites. 133
iStockPhoto.com / Re: Disambiguation II« on: April 11, 2007, 16:25 »
as a designer, sometimes i have to search very specific images and istock is the best place for 2 reasons: the search engine and the variety. on SS, DT and StockXpert are all the same images we upload, but istock have the exclusive ones...

roman, if you want to be exclusive to istock, you have to know that at DT 'all Contributors are required to keep at least seventy (70%) percent of their portfolio online with Dreamstime.com for a period of at least six (6) months.'

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Questions about Uploading« on: March 08, 2007, 13:02 »Don't you embed the keywords into your image as EXIF data? that would automatically put your keywords & description into iStock, then you just have to do catagories I can't understand why sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt! 144
Shutterstock.com / Re: Should I bother?« on: March 08, 2007, 01:12 »
I think you should bother, with 60 images and 20 days there, my current average is 20 dls/day. I'm very happy with SS.
Good luck! 145

I think on DT may accept it, but without the text. Just my opinion...
Good luck, Adelaide 147
StockXpert.com / Re: Why the StockXpert rejection policy sucks, a designer's point of view« on: March 06, 2007, 15:42 »
I stoped uploading to StockXpert months ago... they are unnecessary rude with their rejections and for me, no sales. So, why take the time uploading to a site that doesn't take the time to talk respectfully about my work and doesn't sell it?
Just my opinion, StockXpert! Wake up! 148
Let's talk about music! I MUST listen to something while i'm on Photoshop and it's not always the same, but i have my favorites: Tori Amos, Regina Spektor, R.E.M., The Shines, The Prodigy, Zero 7, Pink Floyd, and the list goes on.
Who are your favorites? 149
iStockPhoto.com / Re: Istock troubled waters my opinion« on: March 05, 2007, 22:37 »
I'm just starting and do the same on both IS and SS. I started uploading on IS and it was very slowly, with 71 images on line last month i made $30... i'm not very active, but i think is too slow...
I started with SS 02-19-2007 and 15 days after i made $29 with 50 images on line. Plus, on SS almost all my images sell and on IS i have one hit with 85 dls and the others hardly ever sell. I owe IS the quality of my images, i learned a LOT there and still learning, they are relly helpfull on the forums... but SS wins when it comes to $$$, i get to shot what i want and it sells... so... learning to love SS 150
General Stock Discussion / Re: Full Time or Part Time?« on: March 03, 2007, 11:04 »
I live in Uruguay, South America. Things have been very difficult to us lately, but we are better now... my husband is a designer and works full time desining webs for a company located in Indianapolis and for his local clients. I help him and do this microstock thing, we both took pictures and I do all the other work.
Obviusly no health secure and no retirment program... but we are happy to be able to pay our bills and buy what we want. I wish i had more time for microstock... and i will! |
