It's about time for every contributor to understand that 123rf is not a reliable partner anymore.
They cut our royalties several times with false promises to increase sales significantly.
Started taking back money from our accounts for refunds on sales from 10 years ago. Took them two weeks to go from "everything is normal" to "oh it's a bug".
Now this desperate shenanigans with the free image collection trying to milk the last drops before they disappear from the market.
Everyone decides for themselves. I already deleted my portfolio and I'm feeling much better.

To me it's a challenge. All the whining about 10 cent sales is a waste of time.
Complaining about rejections is a waste of time.
In short, complaining is a waste of time.
The challenge for me is to overcome.
Marines are taught to improvise, adapt, and overcome all obstacles.
I think that's a good attitude.
I don't care to read about the whines. All forums are full of them.
I want to read about success stories not bs
My income kept going up after the dime hair cut. Then I hit a plateau.
I stopped uploading because I hit a block.
Now I'm back to taking pictures and uploading. It's fun!
I enjoy the challenge.
Here's the thing for me, Stock Performer tells me I'm in the top 80% on downloads.
But I'm only in the top 30% on income and now I'm in the top 60% on uploads.
The problem is obvious. I need to create more images people want to pay for.
So that's what I'm working on now. Yes, upload, upload, upload. Dimes add up.
On Shutterstock I don't upload on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Like everyone else I'm
tired of the goofy judges that reject everything. So I don't bother with that.
On comparing agencies. Yes, Adobe, Dreamstime, 123RF and so on pay more for pictures but
in the final analysis Shutterstock pays more at the end of the month because they sell a hell of a lot more.
Wirestock started out good but now has gone off the rails.
Adobe pays me more for the thousand or so images I have with them.
Yeah, even Dreamstime gives me greater earnings than Wirestock.
Anyway, that's how it works for me. How other people work is their business..
I'm not on forums much anymore because it's a waste of time reading all the whining.
I do a lot of research and try to keep my eye on the ball.
What I don't know is what pictures bring in the big bucks. I've not discovered
that secret yet. So that's the challenge for me.
People are free to cut off their noses to spite their face but Shutterstock rules.
If you can get on with Stocksy because they pay well and work with photographers.

No I won't upload, upload, upload to SS because I don't like to be paid dimes, dimes, dimes when my time, effort, equipment, models and ... worth tens of thousands of dollars, dollars, dollars. And no it's not fun anymore because if you continue to upload, upload, upload soon the dimes will become nickels and soon after nickels will become pennies. Speaking about what is a waste of time - shooting, processing, keywording, and uploading thousands of LCV images is the biggest waste of time.

Since 8 April 2022 every day two refunds from 2013, 2014, 2016, 2021, 2022.
I wrote them, but they did not reply. So I started deleting my images. Everyday I will remove part of my portfolio.
Enough is enough!

That's strange, because on your current as-of-this-minute "Why should I sell stock imagery on Alamy?" page, which was written in May 2019*, it says, "The average image license fee on Alamy is $90".

Its not strange - just a miss on our part. This page is outdated, and Ill make sure the correct info is added - I genuinely appreciate you flagging it.
Weve been pretty consistent and open about the $30 average over the last few years in our comms with contributors and official forum and blog. This page should have been updated but was missed - no excuses.

I'm afraid you should update the info from $90 average to $3 for 2022. There's is another problem: many contributors who opted out from distributor sales got $0.04 from those Chinese distributor sales?

This may be too obvious but why would anyone nominate an image that earns hundreds of dollars on other sites. Don't do that.
Maybe I didn't make myself clear, by nominated I meant eligible for free collection images. I didn't nominated them and will never give them for free download. ..
cascoly, I partly understand you. I just made a comparison of my portfolio on DT and your portfolio on DT. We both registered in 2006 and since then your Downloads per image = 0.30, mine Downloads per image = 8.21. You probably don't value your images as I value mine.

since you don't have the courtesy to show a link to your portfolio we don't know your actual earnings.
DL/image is worthless as a metric anyway - more important is actual income - 1000 images @ $1 each is a better return than 100 images @$8 each
Eight years ago I decided to stop using my original profile on MSG and to go anonymous. If you don't know why, ask all those punished contributors who were criticizing the agencies. That's the only reason I can't show my portfolio. And don't worry I'm not talking about hundreds of images they are thousands, now make the calculation again. ..

They are not time sensitive, so if Adobe make some changes in the search algorithm there's a chance of lots of future sales. I will lose this opportunity if I accept the offer.

I don't blame the agency at all, actually Adobe is my best selling site and BTW not so long time ago I was one of the Recent top sellers of the week. I just gave an example about images with many sales in the past who are eligible for free collection.

I agree 100% with Zero Talent. The free image collections will kill this industry in long term.
For Real, selling stock images is not the main source of income, they sell software.
predicting a future event, as Zero does, is not the same as DECLARING it's killing sales - yet another solecism from Hellou in which someone else is blamed - to even make a case we'd need to know size of portfolio and how many sales over a year or more
and too many are confusing individual returns with the health of an industry - no evidence thus far that offering free images hurt the bottom line. offering something for free is a long established software tactic - from the days of shareware to winzip, pdf converters and much other software w option to upgrade. same here - AS is offering free images that are a tiny % of their total library.
for artists, getting $5 for an image that hasn't earned 1/4 that amount in the last year should be a no-brainer (and, of course) up to the individual to choose)

Royalties are prorated among Contributors according to the proportion of their files in individual subscribers downloads, with increased earnings for those at higher Contributors Levels. Royalties for files downloaded under the Program are awarded in aggregate at the end of each month."
I wonder if anybody got royalties from the Revenue Share Special Program, because all I see is $0.00.
After I removed all best sellers, good sellers and average sellers from their selection I left some low sellers for a test.
