DepositPhotos / Re: FTP problems
« on: March 06, 2015, 15:42 »
He is right, listen to him please!

I dont understand why avid Symbiostock supporters would submit to DP, the worst agency of them all. Symbiostock and DP are complete opposites. Its not meant personal in any way. I dont mean to attack anyone. I just honestly dont understand it. FT and DP should be banned for life by all contributors.

« on: March 06, 2015, 15:06 »
No, no and no!, this is the worst agency , 90% is subs for 0.30$,10% is credit sales for 0.44$, never and never  enterprise license, credit sale are rare like panda.

my opinion is they are stealing. even bigstock is much better, i quit uploading to deposit, they are criminals

12.4 is another lie, i upload business images, compare to SS they are about 1% to 2% of SS sales.

i beg you not to upload on DP.

Thank you very much!

I think most active  big contributors  surpass BME at least 10-15%, everybody is quiet.  8)

« on: February 11, 2015, 16:14 »
my portfolio was also dying, but now in february i got 100% boost, there is al lot of 1.90$, is that google deal?

Can anyone remember when DT announced their exciting news about giving photos away to some mysterious partner?  I didn't take note of when I opted out of partner sales, but my sales started getting bad in August.  Maybe their partner program was earning 25% - 50% of my earnings?  Or is it because there are so many former Istock Exclusives on the roster?

Didn't that turn out to be the Google $2 for unlimited downloads deal?

i work every day, every photo must earn at least 10$,  i will not work stuff that will not bring 10$, i rather make handshake, i have one  with 3 dl/day i will not shoot flip pancake.  8)

i made some niche industrial images in 2013, they sold about 50 times, then stoped after half year, image is old search algoritm, not copied by other contributors.

so i try to make only high selling images.....

the main problem is , subs are too low to make exotic image, 5x time sold is too low, price are too low for niche, sorry.
spend tho whole day with costs for one or two  images and not earn 200$, no go.

I can assure that I wont be any competition, but what are those serious gaps? What subject matter is high in demand and not covered well? I am not asking to give away your secrets but I find it hard to believe that there are high demand subjects which are not covered. Unless it is a inaccessible niche, like diamond cutting, which I doubt will be high in demand either.

There doesn't have to be a high demand, just a little demand.  When you are the only person with images you'll get all the sales.
Even a very simple subject like a male flipping a pancake, there is only 4 photos of this (flipping an american fluffy pancake) search terms: man flip pancake
If you take 15-20 shots on that subject, it isn't going to earn you $10,000 but I'm guessing it would pay back your time and model fee investment + a decent amount on top of that if it was aprt of a larger shoot where you did 10 other similar subjects.

old images are not shown, if u write sunset and you go page 4000 or 6000, they show alot of new images. there is no "old" images, at least on popular,

i also notice if u browse category, there is image shown on page 4 then is shown again on page 17, am i correct?

my sales are ok, if u made commercial stuff, not old pipes or landscape, sales are ok then.

i made scenes,  i need 2 hours to make scene  for two images in basement, but then i expect at least 50dl/image, if i dont have 20dl/image i made loss.

i forgot, dont shoot food, too much food is on SS  8)

i dont know, my sales are superb this week and are stronger and stronger every week, today i have 100 subs and 20 od, superb, go shutter, go shutter
my best sellers goes 6-7 a day

is here any heavy stock contributor with 500 commercial upload  per month?

167
corners are too damaged, you need to crop this image, lens @ 2,8 are not  good enough , blur is too noisy, maybe iso 50?, learn lightroom first , buy new camera, dont upload this image, maybe it will 2 or 3 times sold, image should be sold 20x, sorry.....

Are you paid by fotolia?

500% more ss then fotolia, fotolia is not fair agency.

This month my earnings from Fotolia stayed ahead of Shutterstock every day, the entire month and finished higher as well by 8%!. (Both closed above my minimum payout.)
I have no explanation.

I have a small portfolio (300-350 images) with more accepted at Shutterstock. And, like most of you, my SS earnings have historically been way, way more than FT, DT, and BS combined.

Until this month.

My SOD have dropped to nothing on SS for the past few months (which was where the earning difference was), but FT just kept on going steady every day.

SS has been dropping the past several months for me; but this really took me by surprise.
Am I all alone in this experience, or have any of the rest of you had similar experiences?
