Only united and strong contributors can move things in right directions! We need NEW strong community.

Yes united contributors are the solution. We need a network or foundation to bundle our forces.

Shutter is a sinking ship.
I bet they will start a new price war before they die.

Selling Stock Direct / Re: Best platform to sell direct?
« on: April 17, 2016, 00:27 »
The difficulty is to bring traffic ... only used SEO techniques, or even advertising?

Yes traffic/advertising is difficult. But the EU-VAT system make selling on your own platform almost impossible. Thats the main problem in my view.

The most important thing is solidarity, no matter what independent platform you're on. We are all driven to have a more stable and fair revenue stream for our work.

You mean solidarity for your profit?
You are not a benefactor.

Pond5 / Re: Files not uploading.
« on: April 09, 2016, 00:44 »
I've had problems uploading as well. Both on the site and with Stocksubmitter they did upload but they just don't appear in the list.

Edit: FTP didn't connect either.

Now i have the same problem since 3 weeks. The connection to the ftp server is ok. But only a few pictures appear on the site. Is there a new image standard at p5?

131
I dont miss the complicated upload and the time consuming submitting.
Bye bye Panthermedia ;D

Pond5 / Re: Pond5 do they review photos anymore?
« on: April 05, 2016, 03:45 »
Is the upload via ftp broken?
If i upload a batch of images only two from 10 images are shown on the editing page.

This is going on since a few days. Anyone else with this problem?

« on: March 18, 2016, 16:10 »
Since last week Bigstock randomly unable to read Metadata for approx 20% of all photos uploaded through FTP. All those photos are processed without problem on all other stock sites. I have to manually copy and paste descriptions and keywords for each photo. Big waste of time. Does anyone else have the same problem?
Same here.

The interesting thing here is that the 12 million of SS's 70 million images are owned by just the top 100 photographers or studios. I cant be bothered to go through more of the list, but I would bet the top 500 own the majority of the library and almost all of the saleable images, much of the rest being garbage from ye olden days from people who no longer upload.

The Microstockworld is smaller than many people think.
A few contributors can make a big change if they united. Maybe 500 could turn SS in a trashcan if they leaving SS.

137
Now we can make a mailinglist with this names.
Then we have a perfect ss newsletter to inform the members about news from ss bottom race. ;D

this is the next effrontery.
If you are crazy and give them free images you can only decide how many images not what images.

Alamy.com / Re: Alamy Refunds?
« on: March 14, 2016, 16:32 »
I had one last year - after a month or 2 they got a refund on a $250 sale and the same image was bought that day for $195 - I presume it was the same buyer and they got some sort of discount and made it retro-active. It still beats .38 by a wide margin but is pretty frustrating. I also have some long standing unpaid sales that Alamy said they will probably never recover.

So if the buyer never pays for the downloaded image doesn't Alamy compensate it to the contributor at some point?

Question is why this refund/non pay buyer behavior is possible at Alamy.
I dont have this problem in this volume on other agencies.

Great news. And something to keep in mind when people say "there's nothing we can do."

So true we can change the whole market if we are united. ;)

^^ buy some shares from ss than you are on both sides. :o

Excellent support from Mat and agency support team, as well.
TNX Mat.

Realy refreshing !
Nice weekend to all  :)

ecited, thank you, impressive... ;D

Yes they make PR (you call it support) in this forum. WOW!
They give us 33% commission and make millions.
Suggestion: Stop the "support" and pay a fair trade commission of 50%. 8)

For what should i say thank you?

No wonder that the agencies can make  what they want with us...
