Alamy.com / Re: Alamy sale for 7 cents
« on: June 30, 2022, 20:46 »
After 15 years or so with Alamy it must be time to pull the plug and delete my port.

6 sales today netted me 9c! What the actual F&%k  >:(

2 sales before level 3 I get an EL, I know its only a few bucks but I can't help thinking we are screwed at every opportunity.

Dear Angry

Withdrawing your entire portfolio will only effect you as a statement of your own principles in protest of their upload censorship principles (ironic). It's a shame that you have reacted in this way, they are one of the better sites, I hope that you reconsider and decide to upload plenty of flowers and puppies, they sell well there for me ;-)

Best of luck and hope your day gets better

Regards Sim

The data tags below the images in gallery view are:

1st =Downloads
2nd = Rating
3rd = Comments

Change the view to browse by "ratings descending" or "comments descending" to see which images have been rated or commented on.

Sorry about the rejection news, StockXpert has always been a good site for me, I hope that you eventually get on it.

Perhaps you could post some links of the images that were rejected so as to invite some constructive comments?

Thanks, so it isn't me not finding the link  :)

Also, I've only had one view today but sold two seperate images, strange!

FT2 seems pretty quick and a few new features.

but....I can't find a place to upload my new pictures!

Is this just me or is anyone else having the same problem?

I've seen a consistent decline in sales for the last three months on SS, even with regular uploading.

In fact this month, I may actually fall a couple of dollars short of the $75 minimum paypal payment, for the first time.

Fortunately IS and StockXpert are showing spectacular growth (exceeding SS) which keeps me smiling  ;)

Excellent - I look forward to trying this out

Darryl

Follow the following link to one of your images and you will see a bronze fotolia symbol by your name.

Hope that helps  :)

StockXpert.com / Re: Promoting images
« on: May 20, 2007, 10:50 »
I just checked my portfolio and I found more images that were given very low ratings.  It looks like someone gave me a 5 or 6 on one image and a 1 on another.

One of my most popular images was hit:

http://www.stockxpert.com/browse.phtml?f=view&id=116965

As well as two other images that sell well on most sites:

http://www.stockxpert.com/browse.phtml?f=view&id=187446

http://www.stockxpert.com/browse.phtml?f=view&id=644092

PLEASE DON'T RATE IMAGES LESS THAN A 10.  IT CAN AFFECT SALES.  IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE IMAGE, THEN JUST MOVE ON.  IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PROVIDE CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, THEN DO IT THROUGH SITEMAIL OR EMAIL.

Well they all got a perfect 10 from me. They are IMO excellent images. I hope this deservingly boosts the averages.

Very slow for me to. In fact they are my worst performer out of the nine sites I am with. I like their set up and approach, so I will stick with them for a while longer before I think about stopping uploading. Hoping that their marketing efforts produce increased sales. Come on LO !!!

14
Also, if the product is faulty I am sure that you would take it up with the maufacturer rather than the retailer anyway.

I would still ship it to your grandparents and save the $600 dollars, then still pay the full postage from Canada if you wanted to return the lens. The odds of needing to return the lens have got to be pretty low since you are spending sufficient money to indicate a decent lens. And I am assuming that you have done your esearch and know exactly what you are buying.

« on: May 06, 2007, 07:37 »
It's up again (8.35am).
Could be off and on today as they sort out the new servers?

17
This was my first effort using HDR on CS2 with 7 exposures, its a bit over the top but I like the effect.
It's also possible to create the  3 to 7 images required to merge in HDR from one image by setting different exposures through RAW editing, anyone try this?

I have had the same problem for the last couple of days. However, after logging out and back in again I am able to post a message in the forums.

After all, why would we just stop with still imagery and video?

I wonder what that is supposed to refer to?  Are they going to get into music???
Music could be a possibility, perhaps also 3D animation?

General - Top Sites / Re: April earnings
« on: May 01, 2007, 06:24 »
Based on sales growth March to April 2007

SS    -15%
StockXpert  +81%   ;D
IS     +33%   ;D
FT     +16%
DT     -9%

StockXpert and IS were outstanding for me in a month with relatively few uploads, hence the drop on SS.

« on: April 29, 2007, 13:47 »
Congrats on getting to 100!!

I've just passed 300 d/ls off 164 accepted images (120 days), and have found that good images tend to develop a momentum of their own, whereas on some other sites you need constant uploading to maintain growth. My monthly sales have been doubling every month thanks to this. I just wish more of my port would sell  ;)

Or......

b<a = 'oh bugger!"

Off Topic / Re: How to calculate growth?
« on: April 27, 2007, 09:23 »
1st month (ie Jan) = a
2nd month (ie feb) =b

Growth %  +/-  = ((b-a)/a)*100

If the second month (b) is lower than the first month (a) your growth % will be minus figure.
