Answer from Canstock:

nFreeart.com is run by our affiliate Fotosearch. On Freeart the only the smallest print size on paper is free for the customers, they only pay for shipping. You would get paid the Paper Print Minimum Commission (e.g. free print offers) of $0.25. https://www.canstockphoto.com/payout_schedule.php

Freeart will is marketing your content for print and product sales. You would receive 20% of paper print sales as you always have, and will now also make sales on other physical products (e.g. acrylic, metal, canvas, etc.). These are higher-priced retail items with a 10% royalty, which will result in higher commissions (up to $49.90) than most digital image sales.

It is possible to opt-out of selling your images on Freeart, just keep in mind that youll be opting out of the entire site, and will forgo any of the high commission print offerings.

Please confirm if you want to remove your portfolio from Freeart and we will take care of it immediately.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Sorina

Just a little reminder:
The last funny story, when they introduced a Flexible Plan (in fact, 1 image for $1, on demand) a lot of people left Depositphotos or deactivated the images. And you know what? They started to block deactivation! You could kick down 5 works, then get error message and delay before you could deactivate the next 5. And all the time they replied that everything is fine and they did not block anything. Then they started to whine to every contributor's e-mail, that Flexible Plan is a temporary solution and they will turn it off soon. Guess what? Plan is still there, for almost two years. And they advertise it every month.
I don't know, why some people are still there, really.

I remember that. I closed my account in a few days after they do those things.
No regrets !!!!

For food stuff I suggest to get closer to the subject.

Have a good day!

The software have all the sales data for each contributor. So, I think that they can do a percent subscription for each user. Like, let say, about 1 to 5 % from the total revenue. So, if user earn 100 $/month, next month he/she must pay around 1 to 5 $...
Just an idea....

Lighting / Re: What ring flash for macro with Nikon?
« on: July 06, 2017, 06:37 »
I use LED continuous lights for video and occasionally for stills (although I do about 95% video).
I use 3 of them mostly in a home studio I have organised for food and still nature.
I found them excellent: no heating, very low power consumption, very cheap (the 3 of them cost less than the amount you mention).
Also it is so much easier and nicer to work with continuous lights IMO.

If you do macro in a home studio, they are just perfect. If you want to do it in the nature, than probably a ring flash would make sense

Hi Brightontl,

Can you show me please exactly the LED model that you are use for food photograpfy? I use speedlites  (Elinchrom #20842.2 D-Lite RX 4 TO GO) for stills but I want to try also some videos...

Thank you!

Yes it is worth if are ok to produce good quality and enough volume to overcome oversupply in most areas... or find some very specific niche. Same as with photography really, only different manufacture method.
I dont sell my 3D models though, they are too valuable to me, I only sell renders.

Thank's Harvepiono.
Could you please show me one example of a good quality 3D rendered image just to get an idea ?

Thank you!

General Stock Discussion / It's worth creating 3D models
« on: March 30, 2017, 02:13 »
I began to study 3Ds Max for creating 3D models / images. What do you think, it's worth creating this type of media for selling (images) on SS, FT, etc. and models on turbosquid / cgtrader ? Maybe also creating some animation for selling like footage type ..
Thx  :)

Anyway, I like the website.
Good luck
