Pond5 / Re: Discount results in less royalties?
« on: June 04, 2018, 20:56 »
Yes, it's annoying to see the discounts.  They give discounts to big buyers and those who bought discount credits.  20% discount is too much.  10% should be max.  I hate to see those.

152
Yup.  I pulled out all my video clips from SS too.  I hope my competitors will do the same.

153
... have stopped with uploading.. they want new files and contributors, but mine will be on hold ...  after some time, they count to buy files from you for their MS program... in long term, it`s suicidal practice for all of us... but always there will be people who will give them files for few bucks...

You always make much more money in a long run if you keep your clips (assets) rather than selling them for pennies to others who try to profit a lot from them.  So, DON'T SELL YOUR CLIPS OUTRIGHT!!

154
It has been bad and I'm discouraged to upload/tag new material.

No photo sales too.  I won't upload any photos anymore till I see steady sales.

156
For video only, P5=10, SS=7, Fotolia=2, VB=1.5.

Do you have any idea what kind of use potential buyers have?

158
It's the most annoying thing when your indy filmmaker friend asks everybody to donate for his/her hobby film project.

We uploaded about 20% footage but had 0% increase in income. Completely identical income results (maybe +- 100$).

I know that sucks.  Sorry.

160
I increased about 32%, from roughly $132,000 in 2016 to around $175,000 in 2017.

Let's hope 2018 goes just as well.

Wow!  That's a big leap at that income level.  Congrats!

Still, new clips aren't showing up for like more than a week now.  Is it Russians?

162
I started about 6 months ago there and have zero sales so far.

OK, I guess it's just me.  I'll check my computer.

The same problem here.  I just found out sorting by "New" shows no video in any keyword either.  what.

Sorting keyword searched clips by "New" doesn't result in any clips to appear on my computer.  Is it just me?
Also recently approved video clips aren't showing up either.  what.

Just found a similar thread on Shutterstock forum.

Now the sales from yesterday and today is showing, and then disappear and re-appear.  what is going on there?  They got some roaches in their computer systems?

Do you have a question? I dont get it. Is this to draw us to your blog or something?

Stop being a hater.  Please!

Looks a little weird, but not far off either.  Maybe you don't need to use log and just shoot with what you see is what you get approach.  Unless shooting in RAW, compressed vides images don't have much range for post color correction.  Therefore, it's better to shoot with color you want in final product.

171
Since then it's a constant downhill.  Maybe big buyers don't trust them or something.

No... It's because of increased competition. Sellers have been flocking there because of the great commission, and they have also bought thousands of clips for their membership library. The more clips they have in their membership library, the less you will sell.

Nope.  SS and P5's contents are increasing as well, but their sales are increasing too.

Dissolve / Re: Dissolve lowering price on my footage

You should GTFO of Dissolve.  They don't respect contributors.  I and many others got out a few years ago.
