The model release is an agreement between you and the model. The member/content agreement is between you and SS.
I know that of course.

Not necessarily. It's hit or miss with models. Some sold a lot and others almost no sales.

Legally, the model release covers it. If you have images of family members or friends or just don't want to deal with the hassle of a model that is pissed, you might want to opt out.
One of my models complained saying he was on an ad for sperm bank and threatened to ask a lawyer. I explained him that that's what stock photo modeling is and he signed for it, but I didn't want him bothering me any further and made enough money already from his photos. So, I asked him to pay me the modeling fee back and deleted all his images.

I'm in. The model release covers it, right?

If I don't get paid on the 4/15, I'll delete all my files manually. There may be nobody in the office.

Anybody seeing it?
They are no show at NAB this year unlike previous years. I'm a little concerned. I hope it's just a technical glitch.

Ducks in the pond series shot in 8k with RED Helium camera has done really well for me. Please don't imitate.
But did you cover 120k FPS slo mo of the ducks?
Will do 1,000 fps with Phantom camera soon. That'll be awesome.

I liked how the townhall went till I heard our royalty cut to 40%. That sucks.

I am at $200 for the month. That is HORRIBLE for my trend. My $1000 a month went to $800, then $600 and now $400 in a matter of about two years. That came with consistent video and still uploads. This is less than a zero sum game..
Probably shooting the same kind of stuff over and over?

They are both publicly traded corporation. Why can't Shutterstock pay us at least 35% like AdobeStock? I hope AdobeStock's video sales will surpass Shutterstock's this year. They are growing fast and are catching up.

It's a waste of time. Sales are very rare.

It's the society's fault. There's a conspiracy out there.

I'm concerned how slow Shutterstock is this month so far.

Things are changing. Anybody seeing the same trend?

I just checked it and OMG it's true! However, I just let them test it because it's February, a slow month and the clips priced the lowest are the ones that didn't sell much.
93
« on: February 08, 2019, 12:41 »
If that's true, they just can't change the price without asking contributors first. That's totally unacceptable and rude.
94
« on: January 17, 2019, 21:35 »
Nope. Not very friendly toward contributors. No respect to us.

Whatever the amount they offer you for your portfolio, they expect to make much much more money from it. Ownership of asset is everything in creating wealth. So, don't do it!! If you get an offer for $50,000, give counter offer for $300,000.

They had a great model, buyers and artist were happy and now......zzzzzzz
LOL. Things change.

I don't want my video files to be in somebody else's hand if it's not selling at all. Deleting the portfolio will give me a peace of mind.

They are not contributor friendly. Not a good agency to deal with

I'm definitely not uploading new stuff anymore. Waste of time at this point.
