123RF / Where is our 1042-S Tax Withholding 2019
« on: May 04, 2020, 21:54 »
I write to 123rf and also tried livechat with them, but they never give any answer on where is my 1042-S Tax Withholding 2019.
Is already May 2020 and they still haven't send out?
All other agencies already did.

One of the best month in a long long time.

78
Fotolia never provide us with the tax withholding document. And as far as I know, Adobe Stock also never send us the tax withholding document.

What I did every year was to the statistic page to calculate and screenshot (as a proof) of my tax withholding every year.

Can anyone confirm if Adobe Stock will ever send us the Tax Withholding Document of 2019 like every other agencies?

123RF / Re: 123RF Payment matters (PAYONEER)
« on: April 16, 2020, 23:27 »
I got the same email and I also write an email to 123rf to ask for clarification. They said they would check and get back to me.

But, I have successfully receive the payment prior to that, and I have also successfully transfer the money to my local bank account now.

So, I guess... no issue.

Hi, I'm from Canva :)

Re payment issues:

1. I've heard from the team that March payments via PayPal are delayed due to an issue with FX. An email update will be going out shortly to affected contributors. We're working on making sure you get paid ASAP, and there is no need to contact support.

2. For our contributors on Skrill and Payoneer, you should be receiving two payments (the second one went out today). The sum of these two will reflect the correct amount for March.

Apologies for the inconvenience here. Thank you for your patience and understanding :)

Thank you. I finally received the correct amount of payment. Canva, you guys are the best!!!

Canva / Re: Canva March Earning Wrongly Calculated?
« on: April 15, 2020, 20:04 »
I just received my Canva earning for March, and there seems to be a problem.

The total earnings I received did not include Subscription Earnings.

Are you guys facing the same problem? Is there a glitch on the accounting?

Normally the subscription earnings appears from the 8th to the 15th of the month. On my side I had my regular sales and subscription amount appeared on the 13th.

Yes, the subscription earning already appear on my side. But total earning released is not tally.

The actual earning release to us at PayPal/Payoneer should be

Normal Earnings + Subscription Earnings x 0.85 (tax withholding) = Total Earning

But what I received in my PayPal/Payoneer is

Normal Earnings x 0.85 (tax withholding) = Total Earning

The Subscription Earning is not adding in. Why?

BTW, why haven't we received our payment yet this month? It's 15th now

Just arrived in my account.

Is there a problem with the earnings? I have received mine and it is lesser than it should be. I find that it didn't add in the subscription earning into the total income I received.

123RF / Re: US Tax form 1099 from 123RF
« on: April 12, 2020, 01:12 »
Anyone get their 1099 for 2019 tax year yet?  I just emailed Alex.  I love how we have to chase down 1099s for piddly amounts every year.  I should be on top of this at the beginning of February of each year, but life happens.

What is Alex email? I also want to mail him to get my tax form.

Since the announcement yesterday, my sales at Canva is dropping like flies. I got 10x times less download for yesterday. Is the effect of moving buyers to subscription already taking effect? It can't be that fast and effective, right? Now, I am worried about April earning.

Adobe Stock / Re: 2020 Adobe Stock Artist bonus program
« on: March 31, 2020, 04:57 »
By now, you should have received an email about the 2020 bonus program for Adobe Stock artists. We are switching the program up this year.

Instead of the number of uploads being the qualifier, it's going to be the number of downloads. Contributors with more than 150 downloads between Jan 1 and Dec 31, 2020 will receive a bonus code for their chose of Creative Cloud Photography plan or a single app which yes, one of those apps to choose from is Illustrator if you are a vector artist or Premiere if you are a video producer.

For those of you that have 5,000 or more downloads this year we'll be providing you with a code for the all-apps Creative Cloud. Still images count as 1 download, video licenses count as 8 downloads by the way.

You can see all the details here for additional information: https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/royalty-details.html

Let me know if you have any questions,

Mat Hayward

Wow, a 1 year plan of Adobe Illustrator CC? That one worth about USD300. And I only need to have 150 downloads in the whole year? That's pretty achievable, right? Have I interpret the whole thing wrongly?

Yep, same thing here.

My wild guess (hopeful guess) is that they finally separate out the tax withholding for Australia, and the rest of the world. Meaning to say, they only withheld tax that occur in Australian dollar. Previously, they just withheld everything. Again, this is just my wild guess.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Coronavirus ?
« on: March 11, 2020, 09:21 »
Many people still argue that flu and other diseases kill more and we shouldn't worry about Covid-19. I DISAGREE TOTALLY. You have to understand, Covid-19 is just started... and it is only 3-4 months old... other diseases have been there since a long time ago, and many are not contagious. Even with the panic and fear throughout the world, the virus is still peaking its way. Imagine if nobody care and scare, how much more will the virus infects? This is no joke. Being fearful (not panic) is the only way to contain the virus. People simply have to stop going to the crowd, vacation, party, gym, wash their hands 30 times a day, and start working at home for 2 months straight. Economy will be down, but this seems to be the only way.

The industry trend is always changing. Sooner or later microstock will all be FREE. And guess what, after they become free, we will be begging the people to download our stuffs (for free). Believe me, this is already happening.

Take a look at music industry and games industry. Now you are listening music for free at Spotify and Youtube. Game industry are also pretty much the same. Take a look at the bunch of free games at App Store And PlayStore. These people (musicians and game developers) want us (begging us) to listen and play their stuff for free. They just want you to listen and play them. Compare this to 30 years ago, we still need to buy CD to listen to our favourite music.

But fear NOT, even when our photos/vectors are free, they will always be a way to make money out of it.

Hi fellow Adobe Illustrators. Do you have any script to convert many grouped icons/artworks in the same file to individual SVG?

I know we can use Asset Export, but that doesn't work on my case as the exported individual SVG cannot be used in software like Cricut, SignMaster and etc. They appeared to be corrupted when used in these softwares.

I also tried MultiExporter script, but it can only export layers and not group.

Can someone share how you guys export multiple icons to individual SVG files?

Has anybody else noticed their DL numbers randomly decrease in the new interface?

Last night when I made a final check of sales before calling it a day I had 100 dl's this morning I only have 98.

It happened once during the day yesterday when I seem to have lost a sale...

And I'm still having trouble reconciling my records with this month payment.

I may have just hit my frustration threshold with these clowns.

Yep, I got some 70 downloads, then suddenly it reset to 3 downloads. This happened at 1 Nov 2019.

iStock August 2019. Lowest earnings since... maybe in the past 5 years. iStock is the only agency that is steadily declining.

Yep. I used to make a some good amount of money from Dreamstime a long long time ago, but now all I had is 10x times less. I fear they are going bankrupt. The downfall of Dreamstime is so rapid compared to other sites.

Shutterstock down x2 times
iStock down x2 times
Depositphotos down x2 times
123rf down x3 times.
Canstockphoto down x4 times
Dreamstime down x10 times

Don't listen to anybody here. They only know what they know and thought they are already right about it. After all, those that have really tried and are truly successful will not speak of anything here because they don't want you to know about it.

Not true. I actually have created subscription sites, ad not related to photography, and sometimes I do share my expertise. Some successful people will share, because they want to see others succeed as well.

Anyway, like I said - definitely doable - the main challenge you have to figure out though is the marketing. If you can figure out a good USP (unique selling proposition), and make something go viral (because free advertising here is probably what you want) - then you can get the 4000 subscribes.

Thanks, glad to hear about it. Can you share more of your previous success and how you do it? Is there a web-maker out there that allow us to offer subscription (instead of usual e-commerce site). I am also interested in making my own site that can offer subscription.

Looks like there's already lawyers doing this idea I am talking about.

https://www.pixsy.com/
https://www.copytrack.com/pricing/

Anyone tried them before?

98
Problem is sometimes even after DMCA or other report is made, we fail to pursue further and it almost felt we are always in a losing battle. At least if there's a good, friendly, nice and helpful lawyer with us, we felt safer and able to pursue the case one level up.

99
Is there a way for us to have a common lawyer here to help us fight copyright infringement? We don't have a lot of money to pay lawyer for petty issue (example: one or two image infringement at Etsy), but if a lot of us use the same lawyer, he or she could earn some good earnings.

As a full time contributor myself, I do hope agencies don't block us without warning or talking to us first. This kind of "immediate block" has always been the biggest nightmare to any contributor. I do hope agencies will review case by case. For those who are confirmed violators (thief) should be banned immediately, but for case like this one, they should be given a chance to redeem themselves first at least. Just my 2 cent.
