The footage site looks really broken.
If you search for example "travel", and list newest first, the first visible videos start to show up around page 220...

Adobe Stock / Re: Reached Emerald: should I increase prices?

Just as i was complaining i've got some credit sales :D  For increased price photos.

Actually for me things went up when I reached emerald and increasing the price of my good selleres seemed to make them sell even better. The problem is that in the last year or so Fotolia credit sales dried up. But I think it has to to with redirecting the traffic to Adobe..

Out of my last 120 sales on Fotolia only one was credit sale...  so i guess it doesn't matter much at the moment. 1-2 years ago i used to get a lot of nice credit sales.. just as many for higher priced files, so that time it was worth it to increase the price for good seller and more unique images. Nowadays I'm not sure

My newly accepted videos not showing up in my portfolio and in searches, some of them for more than a week.
Some previous ones are there, but on their pages they have no title and no keywords showing. They still come up in searches though..

Are you also experiencing this?

I don't know if it's worth it to upload at the moment.

Adobe Stock / Re: what are "Subscription X" downloads?
« on: March 20, 2018, 15:54 »
Hi All,

The sales that are currently labeled "Subscription X" in Fotolia and "Extended" in Adobe Stock are from Enterprise sales. Enterprise deals have custom plans and you receive 33% of the purchase price. The sale information on your account page will be changed to Custom in the near future.

Thank you,

Mat Hayward

Is it possible to know under what kind of conditions are those sold?  What kind of license do they get? Is it just standard? Shutterstock also has mysterious enterprise sales, but many times we get $75 - $125 for those, so we tend to accept the shadyness a bit more

While we are at it, an option to increase font size just a little bit in the textbox where we edit keywords would help a lot with comfort

If your screen resolution is large enough you could just increase the font scaling system-wide.

I tried that, but then many things in programs just appear plain wrong

Okay I will consider adding such an option in the future releases.

Thanks a lot
It's nice to have direct support for this software.
Now it's getting quite off-topic..  but also a very useful feature would be highlighting dots with different color in the list of keywords. Sometimes I put it there accidentally instead of comas, and it's very hard to notice, when you glance at a long list a keywords.
Some days ago I used the search function to go through my whole stock library looking for accidental dots and correcting them

Hi Mat,

will an exclusive option come at a later stage? Because everyone signing up now, can only do it via Adobe.

And will there be a program to add content for Premium distribution? At the moment I have content going to Adobe premium via stocksy and eyeem. But if there was a direct upload option, I would be interested.

Any idea when editorial will come to Adobe? Especially with video it brings reliable sales.

Yes, Editorial videos  could be quite important!

[OFF TOPIC]
-I've just got an extended license sale of a file where the EL price is set to 100 credits. According to my ranking I should get 37% yet i've only got 16.5 credits. How is that possible?

Shoot me an email with your account info and I'll take a look. Extended licenses are 79.99 at Adobe Stock and the commission is 33% fyi.

-Mat

Thanks, I'll do that.
I'm familiar with the 26.4 credits commission, that must be the one you talk about

I looked more into the sale and it says "subscription X"

New Sites - General / Re: FiveDollarPhotos.com

I've searched for car. Lots of unrelated images came up. I've checked one to see why it was in the results... in the keywords i've only seen "postCARd"... this is not good.

Your watermarks have to be better than this: https://www.fivedollarphotos.com/product.php?id=131

especially when you offer a full size preview...

This!
You really have to solve this issue.
Also, be more selective with accepting images, this one looks so out of focus..

I use the Fotolia contributor portal, haven't even bothered to check Adobe even once. Actually Fotolia is one of best working contributor portals in the industry, the only thing I don't like about it is the the ridiculously small thumbnails when i'm looking through the list of my images. But I like the overall page design and functionality, best stats page among all sites, sensible layout. I also like the fact that it haven't really changed throughout the years. I just hate most of nowadays' page design where everything takes up a lot of space, you have to scroll a lot and still seeing not too much information, etc.. Looks like  most sites are designed for phones

Anyone who could get releases accepted recently...  In what format do you write dates?
There seem to be some confusion about it

I ran into the exact same problem 2 months ago and actually posted it to this forum. No one (at that time) had the problem. So I was thinking it was just me - but looks not.
And, my experiences was exactly the same. I have been using my own MR (based on SS) for 5 years, and suddenly all images rejected.

The ONLY difference was that, looking at their release, they now needed the witness to fill out an additional line with the date they signed it. Huh? Wouldn't that be the same date as the model's signature? Otherwise, how could they witness?

Oh well. Fortunately, the I had excellent relationship with the model who lives nearby, so I re-did my form, this time adding the date signed by the witness so everything was EXACTLY the same as the SS release; but with my company name at the top.
Rejected a second time!
I had another agency's release (with the agency's name at the top ) which also asked for the witness date, AND a photo of the subject. So, fine! I used that (with photo attached) brought it back to the model and witness had them both sign it again.

Aaaannnnnd......you guessed it. Rejected again!

I'm pretty pissed now (because this does NOT reflect the information SS has on their site) so I downloaded their OFFICIAL SHUTTERSTOCK MODEL RELEASE FORM, had them sign it, and submitted it a 4th time.
With success, all images accepted.

So, I'm still puzzled (and pissed, because there is no excuse for this), but at least glad to see that I'm no longer alone.
I'll continue to check this thread in case someone comes up with an explanation of what's going on. Happily, Fotolia/Adobe accepts my releases and has pulled past SS over the past few months in sales.

Do you have experience about other sites accepting the official SS release?

VideoBlocks / Re: SB tries the 'ole "partner sales" game

They should specify a maximum third party share. And also Single use HD minimum price should be mor than $19.
And they should announce what partners they work with. Can they guarantee that it's really only single use?

Did Shutterstock change their criteria for accepting model releases?  Suddenly all new images I'm submitting with the release form I've used for years are getting rejected for not having a valid release.

I checked the contributor blog and saw this on the page where the listed the releases they would take (i.e., their release and releases from specific other agencies):

"All other model and property releases, English

We generally do not accept English releases that are not on this list; however, we may choose to accept these releases on a case-by-case basis."

I've never had any problem with my own release before and it has all the same information on it that the Shutterstock release has.  I don't really want to use one of the agency's releases -- I want to use the one I developed for my company -- and I don't want to make models fill out multiple releases.  Anybody know if this is a new restriction or maybe just an over-reactive and poorly trained reviewer?

I have the same problem. I used a release accepted by all agencies for about 8 years. Now I cannot sumbit model released images to shutterstock for months. I tried various releases, and they reject them all.
When I write an email to support they send a standard reply with all the criteria. I think my release form complies with that.
I also tried downloading the official shutterstock release form, removing the company name, and submitting that... rejected.

If anyone has success uploading model released shots to SS, what kind of release do you use?
If i'd try the SS realase without removing the company information would all other sites accept it?

MicrostockSubmitter / Re: SS has broken their uploader

All the data is there after Stocksubmitter, even categories selected.  It seems it's just missing the "mark all keywords as correct" part. So I have to hit that manually, then i can submit the files

Shutterstock submission worked for a while, but it has problems again. Stocksubmitter writes that files are submitted but they are not. They remain in the editing area

Submitted one photo yesterday to test the waters and had no issues whatsoever, and it all went really quick.
Yes.
If your images are ready, with correct titles/description and keywords in the IPTC, and if, having more images, they belong to the same category and don't need release, it is very fast, faster than before.
But in other cases it is a real pain.

By the way I don't understand people submitting not ready images and having to edit them in the uploader

Choosing category is still slower, even if you upload with full IPTC

General - Stock Video / Playing musical instruments and sound
« on: November 12, 2017, 22:03 »
Can musical instrument videos have sound?
I understand that music copyright is an area that probably agencies don't want to get into.. I could say for a video that it's just my own improvisation, but how could they check..

But what if the footage is just about some really simple elements, like hitting a single chord, or playing a simple scale?

Submitting videos...
Why make something that worked well so bad now?
A cannot use key to jump to the desired category when selecting them, i have to click.
Most labels i way to large.
I have to edit in that narrow column at the edge of the screen, having to scroll just to finish on file. In the past all data of multiple files could fit on the screen at once.
Everything looks like some stupid game for a phone

Hahh, i've just seen it...
I just don't understand how can that happen. Why make a working thing worse in every possible way? Now it's way slower to add kewords and such.. lot of unnecessary design crap..
