Yes, I know but sometimes they screw up. Sometimes the numbers match perfectly from year to another and sometimes not.

I really don't understand why 123rf can't get it together and provide the MISC1099 already. My income is dropping fast and I would really love to get my tax return filed. They won't provide me with a date either.

I'm really getting frustrated with the $1.50 video sales. They have replaced normal sales. It just doesn't seem wort it. It won't even cover a medium cup of coffee at Tim Hortons (and that is pre-tax).

General Stock Discussion / Re: Shutterstock vs Adobe Stock

Believe it or not I make more on 123rf then Adobe.

I use to buy photos on Adobe but they removed the credit system, forcing a subscription plan so I started buying from DT.

I emailed 123rf too. I'm just waiting on them to file my taxes.

That is horrible. Are you sure it's public to see? Try to log out of your account to make sure it's actually visible to the public ...

Exactly! All it takes is one bad ad campaign to ruin your business and also destroy the model's reputation.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Missing Portfolio on SS
« on: March 04, 2020, 09:15 »
bah for me really you are making something so big actually is not...losing thousand of dollar for fears one image is sold as sensitive use,, considering that model will probably never know about it...bah.
"Model will never know about it...", that is really wrong. I would never want to betray a model's trust and think it's fine because they will never know about it.

I accidentally opted out of all image sales. I have opted back in but it takes 72 hours for my port to show up again unfortunately.
I'm just removing images with someone's face basically so I will still get some income with SS but definitely not as much.

I have photos of children and babies and I asked SS about "abortion" images. Looks like clients can use your baby photos for abortion content too. I have a lot of deleting to do today.

'Many people are concerned about the Sensitive Use changes Angela, there is no guarantee from Shutterstock that your images would not be used for abortion images.

This doesn't give much comfort though, sorry!"

General Stock Discussion / Legal Name on Shutterstock Preview

Has anyone noticed that Shutterstock's watermark preview has your legal name on the image?
You have to click on the image for the enlargement to see ...

Is this new? Why don't they use your username? I like to go by my username for my stock business.

I completely agree. If you use friends or family this is really bad.

I got mine. I still think the agency is alive.

For fun a few months ago I sent SS a request that I was interested in becoming a photo reviewer.  They responded back to me in a couple of weeks . I didn't not save their email but it went something like this. It was a very nice and polite letter. Thank you for your interest in SS. At this time you just don't have the experience we are looking for as we have other applicants that fit our requirements better. Thank you from SS.  So I guess my dream job will be on hold. Now for my background. I have been doing stock photos since Mosses came down form the mountain. I have a small site on SS and most all the other top sites. I get small sales from most of the sites daily. I have sold/published over a million photos in my time on earth as a photographer ..again over a long time in the business. So maybe someday I can get my dream job as a reviewer. I can only hope and pray....W.Scott McGill

Trust me, you wouldn't have wanted the job even if they were interested in your application. I had to sign an NDA so I can't say much more ...

Remember when the EL Fairy use to visit.

The EL's are pennies now. It is really unfair what they can do with an EL and you get a few bucks. They would occasionally email me asking for permission for an EL usage. If it was over $20 I would take it and accept but sometimes it would be like $1.50.

I'm deleting a lot of files that I worry about "sensitive use" as well. It's a shame they are doing this.

Youre receiving this email because youve opted out of Enhanced Licenses and/or Sensitive Use of your content.

To simplify options for our Shutterstock Premier customers, and to expand the visibility of your work, Shutterstock will be removing the Enhanced License and Sensitive Use opt-outs on Tuesday, March 3, 2020.

No action is required on your part. From March 3, your content will be licensable by all Shutterstock customers, including those who need Enhanced License usage and who intend to use your content in specific sensitive contexts. Your earnings potential from these premium license types is generally greater than from our Standard Licenses.
Enhanced Licenses allow customers to use your content in high-profile projects, such as film and television, incorporation into merchandise for sale, wall art for commercial spaces, and print runs over 500,000.
The concept of Sensitive Use only applies to content featuring models. Customers will be able to use your model-released content for certain potentially sensitive purposes, specifically limited to: promotion of tobacco products, implying mental or physical impairment, or use in political contexts.
Customers are never permitted to use your content in a way that is defamatory, deceptive, pornographic, libelous, obscene, or illegal.

Again, no action is required from you, but if you wish to make your content unavailable for download, you can delete single images from your portfolio by using your Catalog Manager.

For more information on how customers can use your work, check out the Shutterstock License Agreement.

Thanks,
Shutterstock Contributor Operations Team

Is anyone else opted out of sensitive use and enhanced licenses on SS?

I just got the email that they are no longer permitting it. I'm upset as the royalties for EL's are extremely low. They use to be awesome but those days are long gone.

I feel like more changes may be coming too with the new shakeup. Any thoughts?

73
I still have a few downloads everyday but it is definitely going downhill. Every month it goes down more and more. I'm kind of shocked how quickly it's tanking (for me). I thought it may be a more gradual fall but it is certainly escalating fast.

74
It's all very depressing. I don't think they can get SS back on the train track at this point. Too much damage has been done.

75
That exact line bothered me too. Wondering when the "exciting" news email is coming ...
