Dreamstime.com / Editing multiple images
« on: June 02, 2017, 12:04 »
Hi
Any idea how to edit (ie Categories) multiple images? updating 50 images one at a time is a pain.

no reply from SS for credentials approval for 6 days.

Anyone else getting this issue.

Editorial need to be put up ASAP, 6 days is tooooo long to wait.

Hi
How did you do it? i dont have an ITIN number, which they say they need.

I know how to get an ITIN number, ive just never needed to before.

"You must also include original documentation or certified copies from the issuing agency to prove identity and foreign status"

Issuing agencies want lots of cash to authenticate original documents.

Any tips if you are form the UK and did this process?

Bigstock.com / Cant attach Event credentials to image
« on: April 24, 2017, 11:01 »
Hi
Ive uploaded the creds, ive read the new editorial info, BS have even emailed me the info on how to upload and attached credts to images, but i still cant attach the creds to the images.

Their quote
"After you upload the credentials, you will be able to link them to images before you submit for review. An additional area for uploaded credentials will appear under the Model/Property Release tab for each image."

This just doesnt appear. Anyone else got it working?

iStockPhoto.com / Istock statement explained
« on: March 04, 2017, 07:30 »
OK
Ive studied the statement old Istock statements, bare with me. If you disagree, I will update this top post.
In spreadsheet format..

Column L = Total Royalties (i am assuming this is the figure for all your sales for that month)
Column L = (B+D+AD+AJ) - X

Column B = File royalties
Column D =  Image Subscription Royalties ($)
Column AD =  Partner Program Royalty
Column AJ =  G.I. Connect Royalties
Column X =  Admin Adjustment ($)

The historic statement download on ESP does not tie with this for me.

Hope that helps noobies

« on: March 04, 2017, 06:03 »
My statement is dated Jan 1st, so its not clear if thats actually for Jan or Dec.

The PDF download has Dec and Jan sales on it, in a random order, brilliant.!!

The download for February 2015 - December 2016 on the same page, doesnt tie up with ANY!! previous monthly records i have had from istock.

Ive emailed them, im not hopeful of a comprehensive answer.

Whos looked at their PDF statements for January?

Most of mine say Exclusive sales, when i have no exclusive images there.
The sales dates are not in order.
The layout couldn't be worse.

Tried the txt download statement? good luck with the headache inducing pages

And what about the actual royalities webpage statement, all pretty graphs and all that, but give me a simple table like SS.

It doesnt even give you an actual monthly sales figure, you either need to guess from a graph, or add up all the bars on the graph, manually.

Is this really how its going to be? does anyone like it?

General Stock Discussion / Re: RM and RF similarity
« on: February 18, 2017, 07:23 »
Hi Sean

That would be ok if you dealt with one agency. But yes images from the same shoot with the same clothes and concept i can see would be classed as too similar. Is that the only (or best) guide?

Hi
Is there a guide somewhere that helps working out how different RF images can be so some can be submitted as RM?
thanks

Alamy.com / customer search activity ..
« on: February 06, 2017, 12:58 »
Hi

Has anyone looked at the customer search activity on Alamy?
Try not using a search term, just all sales for last month, sort by sales.

It looks like the most selling image search term last month sold 11 times, and thats for all contributors

is that really right

Alamy.com / Re: Oh dear. Here we go again....
« on: February 06, 2017, 07:12 »
I did a little experimenting, plus looking at which of my images supposedly have "good" discoverability versus "poor" and you need at least 40 of 50 keywords to get the good rating.

I have lots of images with over 30 keywords (some because Alamy used to split multi-word keywords up) and tried adding a category, or location, or information to the caption to see if it would make an image "good" and those seemed to make no difference.

I hope that their notion of good vs. poor doesn't affect search position because if you have the important keywords for an image, that's more important than getting the numbers up.

41 keywords (relevant - just!), 100 supertags and all relevant boxes ticked - still poor discoverability. Just 47 of my 2000 or so images rate as 'good'.
:(
I just hope discoverability does not mean what it sounds like it means ie the chances of a buyer discovering an image and then - hopefully - buying it. If it does, then we're doomed, I say.........doomed.....lost in the swamp of undiscoverable and forgotten images........jolly dee.......

I have no idea if the discoverability means anything or is just advise. Still old system.

I read the instructions. 100 supertags? I thought it said only 10 allowed? Does anyone know what the rating is about or what it actually means, if anything?

Years ago Alamy wrote that the artists rank only matters after a number of sales. Looked like that number was 100. Does artist rank mean anything now, or have they changed to image rank?

Just been faced with the new Alamy, didnt even know it was changing!!, also, what instructions?

But they wrote us,

Scheduled for January 3, 2017
iStock.com contributor tools will be retired on www.istockphoto.com/xnet
Login details for the ESP Platform sent to iStockers
iStock contributor tools become available via the ESP Platform.

It's now weeks past that and what we got instead was, maybe February. Meanwhile they did retire the iStock information feed.

The ESP platform is integrated with the Getty Images keywording tree.

Your old keywords won't work anymore and a new version of DM is coming. Data will not be available the same as it was, but might be in the future.

The new platform should be better, easier and more friendly. I hope it is. After the usual SNAFUs I'm not confident.

Then they say, Our next official update will come in December when we share details of the main differences between uploading at iStock.com and the new batch functionality with ESP Upload.

This notice was emailed January 18th 2017. Does that deflate your confidence?  :) Maybe they mean December 2017? I don't know anymore.

Hang on..."Your old keywords won't work anymore " where did that come from

Heres a quote "Beginning February 20th, you will receive a detailed royalty statement every month followed by your payout around the 25th."

unbelievable, all account financial info has gone. As (for some of us) this is our main income and we have responsibilities for accounting, and tax, not to mention knowing what income we get.
If i don't get a good response back from them within a few days, IS goes on the back burner.
