i took two years to reach acceptable and reasonable (far for self sustainable) incomes....for fast money i'd rather ask to mcdonalds or something like that

street photography it's 100% ethical, especially if done in your face as Bruce Guilden,  there's nothing immoral or unethical on it.

200% quote.

unethical may be the use of these pictures... but that's another story

@Digital66 an Engineering degree doesn't make you and Engineer exactly like a Photographic school makes you a Photographer.

Salgado was an economist.
Pellegrin didn't finish his architecture school.

Someone should really be brave to say that they are not photographers

I don't know why to blame someone asking some technical questions, while most professional don't even use this exposure perfection (mostly like : +2 layer ps highkey + mask)

General Stock Discussion / Re: RPI Macro vs Micro
« on: March 30, 2015, 10:40 »
Good question...Stocksy and offset contributors will not answer to this question...
By the way you can see the poll...cash is running in the big 4 so Micro has better RPI for sure (average)

Of coarse there are few exceptions, good/famous/specialized contributors that have many fixed customers on their Macro portfolios and for sure they are earning much  better...but this is not the average

this 3d as gone so far away from it's central point that could be brought in universities and be a subject for psicological/sociological studies

1- The title is clear "New photos = No sales" and NOT "sales are down"

2- The statement: New images don't sell is not true because we have reported that many of us have images that sell a lot the day after uploading

3- The statement that incomes are down is also be true as reported by older and more experienced contributors

so there is really nothing to speak and worse fight about...if i was a moderator i would have close this ages ago :)

depends on kind of picture to me

i've uploaded nice and postproduced landscapes and 0 sales
i've uploaded niche technical stuff (industrial machinery) and have turbo sales...3 img have been sold 15 times in the first day

Now: my heart goes to landscape...but money goes to industry....you choose!  ;D

Pond5 / Re: Video - Pricing at Pond5
« on: March 19, 2015, 05:24 »
Personally i pretty agree with you, but there's a but:

1- If someone wants to sell a 4k clip is free to do it
2- as per you're statement he should be an amateur

This leads to the conclusion that you're a professional therefore youre clips should have a better quality.
If someone is looking for quality will choose your videos not one by an amateur. If someone is NOT looking for a quality video chooses for a 10$ 4k or, worse, just choose to shoot by himself.

If you really believe that your work is in better quality you should not be scared of the price falling. Personally i'm not scared by a 4k video sold for 10$.

For the record: i price around 50$ my clips (i have only HDs)...i don't give the same price to all my clips, what in my opinion is better i put an higher price.
