General Stock Discussion / Re: Is Shutterstock for real???
« on: October 11, 2015, 05:25 »
You may be right RoseTinted but a statement as "shutterstock loose me" or "they loose me" is certainly not the right attitude....shutterstock doesnt give a *** of who are you and how many prices you have won

I understand frustation but i still suggest you to retry and contribute to SS , not for proud or curriculum, but just because they are the best selling microstock agency...btw with your background im sure you can find some alternatives

When i ask for a fotolia payout everything it's sent to paypal without any charge...then i don't know because i just spend all my microstock money directly from paypal far before they can reach my bank account  ;D ;D

Big growth in March->April (doubled subs)....then constant small growth to july (20%)

Shutterstock.com / Re: SS now at 60 million images!
« on: August 25, 2015, 14:30 »
As what i know Photography is art . Microstock is business.

Hence for some easy mathematical rule Microstock is not Photography
Hence the crisis of Microstock is not the crisis of Photography

Newbie Discussion / Re: to late for start at microstocking?
« on: August 05, 2015, 02:21 »
it's too late yes for making a decent money/timeinvested....but if you have free time you can of coarse start microstocking and buy yourself some free beers .... (this is my case  :D ;D)

96
as i agree mostly with digital66 and michealjay about saschadueser portfolio i don't really agree on the fact that RM agencies sells only high quality pictures....you can find an enorumous amount of TERRIBLE/crappy pictures even on corbis, getty, and what else....

this is just to say that maybe, after the reaching the minimum decent level of photography knowledge, the next step (for the market) is not to improve your level but to organize your work properly in order to present it to these agencies

97
model should be aware that photographer don't know for what his image will be used for.
Let's call this "Business Risk"..i don't think he can start any legal action vs you

if you don't like to risk "your" face/image you don't choose to work as a model...
