Adobe Stock / Re: What's your rank?
« on: May 24, 2007, 02:30 »
Kngkyle - you are spot on. One is my personal portfolio and another is the portfolio belonging to a company I set-up with one business partner. I am still the only photographer who has submitted to the company portfolio but that might change soon.

Did you refer your company's account? That would be quite some referral income I guess.

Do you mind sharing how many sales N 5 has?

Cheers

There's a mighty post of Yuri in the forum of SS saying that he has broken the 1000 dl/day barrier... This is truly mind boggling knowing that only on SS he almost earns 6-8k a month. He's probabaly on all the microstocksites so he's monthly total could easily be 15 k I guess.

Amaaaaaaaaaaaazing!

123RF / How to Payout?
« on: May 04, 2007, 01:54 »
Hello everybody,

I can't find the 'payout' button on 123RF. Can somebody help me with this and tell me where I can find it? I only see 'convert balance into credits'.

FYI my balance is higher than the minimum payout...so it's weird.

Any help?

Thanks!

Hi there,

Views don't mean anything at BigStock. Somehow that function is not working properly at all. Last month I had 39 downloads and only 3 views :D, go figure:).

I get monthly payouts at BigStock, so I average 30 bucks a month. I also notice that at BigStock more diverse and various images get downloaded which is a nice change than only see your bestsellers sell.

Based on my experience, don't give up on BigStock.

If this is close, I think there's plenty more angles in this portfolio.

THanks so much!! I tried every site with woman flower field and in not a single search the picture was displayed, so I guess this pic could be better keyworded;)

thanks again!!!

cheers

Hi Guys,

I might need your help again. I'm browsing the sites a lot (which is a huge understatement) and I don't remember where I saw this particular image that I'm looking for. You should all know it as well as it is quite famous (though I can't find it anymore)

It's a woman with a scarf (I believe it was a red one) in the middle of a yellow flower field. Can anybody link me to the picture?

Thanks so much!

Cheers,

Off Topic / How to calculate growth?
« on: April 27, 2007, 06:41 »
Hello all,

I've been trying some things in excel to run some stats and I don't seem to understand how the growth percentage is calculated.

Say:
-january: 10$
-february: 15$
-march: 30$
-april: 20$

Now how should I calculate this monthly growth (or decrease) ? Which is the formula?

Is it for jan vs feb ((15-10)/10)*100 = 50% (+50% of 10 is indeed 15)
Is it for mar vs apr ((20-30)/30)*100= -33% (but here I don't get it...if we take +33% of 20, why come we don't get 30??)

I'm soooo confused about which is the right formula. Can somebody help me with this?

Many Thanks!

Everywhere I read about people getting EL's. I'm around since December on 6 sites with 300-500 pictures and I haven't had any.

I'm just curious about you people, do you get often EL's, is it the same on all sites or are you also waiting for your first one?

Can you put a link for his SS profile, I can't find it.  Thanks.
Speaking about profile, can we find one if a photographer has never posted in the forum?  I tried and didn't succeed.

Shutterstock.com / New record for Iofoto?
« on: April 18, 2007, 05:00 »
I just noticed Iofoto's profile on SS and I'm wondering how many pictures he will sell in his first month. As everybody has had records sales in their first month on SS with a normal portfolio, what would it be with Iofoto's dump of all his almost 5k pics in one month. I think the number will be mindboggling.

« on: April 12, 2007, 08:50 »
How did Bigstock suddenly hit 1 million? I thgt it was still 800k not too long ago?? ???

if not too long = 2-3 months, then you're correct...

they even held a competition towards the 1mth image

41
Oh I see, much easier procedure. I was manually checking the pictures:)

I was right it was on the 4th of march.

not close but closest I can get and was uploaded between 4 and 7 march I believe

it's so weird that it can change from person to person. I have monthly payouts on BigStock whereas on DT it takes me forever.

yea, it's normal.  ;)

Wow. :) Thumbs up for this ...

sseems to me you got a reviewer who was in a good mood...All my picteres were rejected for really really funny reasons. "boat is too small" when the picture was a corporate building...wonderful system over there... i asked them to delete my account

but hey!! good for you bro!!

45
You dont get an email.  Hover your cursor over the orange dot and it will tell you the reason for the rejection.

And where would that orange dot be? Where do I find my rejected pics?

Cheers

edit: never mind, I found it. I don't the reviewers like me over here, really weird:s only 30 pics out of 500 approved:) haha what a laugh! I might just delete my account there. I get "thanks but we're not looking for this right now" all the time on the entire batches.

StockXpert.com / Do they send rejection emails or explanation
« on: April 02, 2007, 04:26 »
Hello everybody,

I still haven't figured out yet how this StockXpert works (with the accepting before keywording etc etc. bulk editor..;briefcase...:)) BUT apparently I had a few rejections already, but never received an email or a sitemail with an explanation about why the photo's rejected.

Don't they do that?

Cheers,
Kris

General Stock Discussion / Re: March Earnings
« on: April 01, 2007, 13:03 »
Hi guys,

Here's my first overview (started on 11/01/2007):

SS: 114.25$
IS: 39.40$
FT: 34.32$
BigStock: 23.50$
DT: 22.65$
123RF: 18.51$

First month on SS, hence the 'high(er)' score. I'd love to put more pics on IS, but due to the beginner restrictions only 64 online.

But I'm happy if it continues like this. Compared to Jan and Feb each revenue on has grown.

Cheers,
Kris

StockXpert.com / Weird?!
« on: March 28, 2007, 00:57 »
I got accepted from the first time apparently after a day of my initial try. But they didn't send me any note of acceptance. So yesterday I went back and saw a messgae saying that I was accepted. Good...

I started uploading, say 130 pictures. I 'picked' the first 50 from the list, since you can only do 50 a day just to see how the site works. I didn't do any keywords, description or categories and this morning when I awake I see that 44 got accepted and are in my gallery. This is so weird since the image has NO extra information.

Anyone knows if this is standard procedure or do they never check keywords, description or category and only the image?

Thanks!

Cheers,
Kris

Adobe Stock / Re: Credits
« on: March 21, 2007, 02:18 »
Depends on which country you sign up as....if US, then it is $1 for US$1.

If you sign up as UK , then it is $0.57 for Pound$0.57 according to the exchange rate for US$1.

You can't switch back to either once you sign up. \

CJ - You could change??? They refust to let me change. I wanted to change as most stock sites were in US$ and I wanted to manage my exchange by having a different currency but they refused. when did you change? Maybe they just changed it recently.

I contacted customer support to change in USD$ and they did in less than 2 hours.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Anyone Know Why IS is Down?
« on: March 20, 2007, 08:21 »
If they did come back online, they're off again now.

As I only just joined last month I only have a small portfolio with them, however I had a steady trickle of downloads, that suddenly stopped on Friday. I wondered if anyone else had experienced the same.

Yes the same here!

Today got back a download

Cheers
