iStock = filthy, sticky crooks. I have stopped uploading there two years ago. I do have about 4000 images on their site, but they will not see my photos any more. I am still waiting for  a payout since I stopped uploading. I do well with SS and FT, and that is where I regularly upload my photos.

MicrostockSubmitter / Re: Weird behaviour
« on: March 06, 2018, 11:48 »
I experienced  similar strange behavior yesterday and not resolved yet.
I went on a tree weeks trip and therefore I didn't use StockSubmitter for that time frame.
Turned on my computer last night and started StockSubmitter. The software performed the updates, and when started I noticed that none of the already images had the model release attached. I always have a back up copy of the stocksubmitter  configuration (SSB) and tried to import the previous configuration (three weeks old). I was presented with a window telling me to choose the file I wanted to import. I went through the import process but nothing changed. Model releases were not there. Had no problem with metadata. Of course I do have backup file of everything I have on the hard drive, so no worries there.
To avoid further problems, closed the software turned my computer off, and I am thinking of trying tonight again. I am not sure if reinstalling the software will resolve the issue. Otherwise I might have to rebuild my model releases file in stocksubmitter, and use for new uploads. Will see.
Any advice will be appreciated.

Had a quick look on this thief's site. Found lots of my images being offered for free there. Probably my entire SS portfolio is stolen. I really am furious. Like you all, I also have worked hard to produce these image. Not to mention the expenses for each of the photo shoots. Any suggestions as to what we can do? I would like to wipe them off the internet if possible. Their hosting provider as well.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: IStock October sales in
« on: November 18, 2017, 15:35 »
I was making good sales with iStock. That was before Getty. Now days my iStock sales are down the drains. I have about 3000 images with them. I was hoping things would get better. I was wrong. I Have not uploaded to them since September 2016. Getty's iStock will not see MY images anymore. And that because I respect my time and the work I do. Weather Mr Getty likes it or not, the images I create belong to me, and not to iStock. Therefore I demand to have full control over my property, and a reasonable  income that would motivate me to produce images for them. Shutterstock and Fotolia are my priorities at the moment.

Adobe Stock / Re: Call for content
« on: May 17, 2017, 04:09 »
Adobe Stock/FOTLIA calls for content. On the other hand they do their best to discourage contributors.

I am very frustrated and I am fed up with Adobe Stock/FOTOLIA rejections of a number of my images for lack of aesthetic or commercial appeal, intellectual property violation, artifacts problem or technical errors. The images they reject for those reasons are accepted and doing well on other agencies.
So if Mat is listening in this forum I want to tell Adobe that:

I am knowledgeable about photography and related processing software. I have successfully been practicing photography for many years, and I am a contributor for several years now. And no I can not accept that another "photographer" reviews and classifies my work as "lack of aesthetic or commercial appeal, intellectual property violation, artifacts problem or technical errors" without giving me a real good reason.

1. My photos contain no noise and/or artifacts of any sort, and they do have a model and Property releases when needed.
2. When my photos are shot all photographic composition and other image quality factors are taken in consideration for each image.
3. I post process all my images using exactly the same procedures and techniques.
4. In regard to intellectual property violation, Adobe Stock/Fotolia has already accepted many images and similar series shot in the same areas, and under the same conditions with those rejected.

I understand rejections may occasionally  happen; however, those reviewing  the image, should specify the exact reason the image was rejected for. Show me where the noise or artifact is, tell me why should I provide a property release for the image in question, tell me why the image lacks aesthetic and commercial appeal

Hope I get an answer....

General Stock Discussion / Re: Editorial caption
« on: March 08, 2017, 14:27 »
Following the first rejection, I submitted two more different photos of the same event. One photo at a time at different days.
I used: "CITY, STATE/COUNTRY MONTH DAY YEAR: [Factual description
of the image content, including who and what the image portrays]" format. "STATE" included as it is part of their guidelines.

The first image was accepted. The second was rejected again for unacceptable caption.

Will keep learning and submitting.......

General Stock Discussion / Editorial caption
« on: February 26, 2017, 19:00 »
Hi,

I am in microstock for a little over three years, and produce images for commercial use.  My acceptance rate is good. In an attempt to start with images for editorial use, I made a test upload of a photo to Shutterstock, got a rejection for unacceptable caption, and trying to figure out what I did wrong.

I use Lightroom and I type the 'Title' in the TITLE section, and the 'Caption' in the CAPTION section of the software, using the Format:
"CITY, STATE/COUNTRY MONTH DAY YEAR: [Factual description
of the image content, including who and what the image portrays]".

I would appreciate your advice as to what I might have done wrong.

Adobe Stock / Re: 23 cent sales in January
« on: January 12, 2017, 16:19 »
My sales were much better - price and volume - when Fotolia was on its own, and it went on for about three or four months with Adobe.
Starting about September 2016  to today, my sales and volume are at downfall. I have had a number of 24 cents sales, and recently 27 cents seems to be the max.
That does not really make me happy.

Shutterstock.com / Re: File size rejected
« on: January 12, 2017, 15:57 »
Twelve more rejections today.
Five file for file size. For rest seven files the rejection reason box is blank. I can't know the rejection reason of these seven  files.
All twelve rejected files were part of a larger series of conceptual images that were recently accepted at SS and other agencies. All files were within the size requirements.

SS are you listening to this forum? I believe you do. So take some action to fix this issue.

Shutterstock.com / Re: File size rejected
« on: January 11, 2017, 14:12 »
Usually I upload files between 12 - 15MB. But most of the files I uploaded in the last six months were between 16MB and 27MB (not MP).
The last two days I uploaded about 60 files. About 10 were less than 15MB.
Two 17MB files were rejected for file size. The rest of them were all accepted although the file size was between 18MB and 27MB.
I will resubmit tsese two rejections in some days.

Image Sleuth / Re: Myloview selling products with images
« on: February 14, 2016, 17:39 »
My work is there too. I counted about 85 images of my port on sale as wallpapers and other print products on myloview.com
It is not only myloview site. Apparently there are more sites selling prints of our work. Here is one more http://vi.sualize.us/
I found my work on this site as well.

Hi,

I have been using DeepMeta for two years now but I have not seen this particular screen. Am I missing something?

iGeorge

I think yes
It is the screen where you can define with more precision the meaning of your keywords.

Thank you Chichikov.

Newbie Discussion / Re: New member
« on: December 04, 2015, 16:39 »
Thank you all

I would not mind sharing the link to my portfolio and to my website at a later time. For the time being I would rather choose to remain anonymous.

Regarding my photographic interests, I like taking pictures of people, nature, and landscapes. Recently I started doing some table top still life. The last twenty some years of my business time I was doing - and still am doing - local and destination wedding photography.

I understand there are vagaries in a stockers life. It is a challenge. I am prepared to deal with them.

Hello,

I am a new member, and I would like to introduce myself.

My name is George, and I  am currently based on Crete. I am Greek.

I started with microstock two years ago - Oct 2013. My portfolio is about 1000 images on Shutterstock, and about 1500 images on Fotolia, iSTOCK, Dreamstime, Depositphotos.

Retired from official job three years ago, upon completion of forty years of work as a photographer. Joined microstock challenge mostly for the fun of it. I enjoy making pictures, and I do not get carried away by any reviewer's-agency's rejections.

I am willing to share thoughts and ideas, and I hope I will learn more about photography and microstock from you all.

iGeorge
