Bigstock.com / Re: BigStock Selling HD Videos for $0.15 !!

Again my question is.. If you were a SS video contributor and let BS have your videos for 15 cents each..What is the backdoor deal.????????????????????????????????? The videos I looked at on BS are very high quality for the most part. They are not homeboy made. Clearly Pro all the way. Got to be a story for the  deal cut that BS made to the SS contributors.

I hope  BS knows if the 15 cent trend continues for a year or so there will be only cell phone video uploaded. Maybe that is BS goal..cell phone videos.

A lot of folks read this forum. Maybe some brave BS video contributor  will post what kind of deal they got for uploading videos to BS. I am still guessing BS may have just purchased  them outright for maybe a year timeframe or so as a test.

You might find this interesting. I wrote to Big Stock about uploading videos to them this is their reply. I would like to get a part of that 15 cent payout.,

"We are not currently accepting new footage contributors. However, if you have video you would like to submit to be licensed as stock, we would recommend checking out our parent company, Shutterstock. They are always accepting new submission applications for Shutterstock.com."

We thank you for your interest and for being part of the Bigstock family.

Kindest regards,

Stock photography is kinda like prostitution. You know you are going to do it , now you just established how cheap you are willing to do it.

Selling videos at 15 cents each how much do contributors get. Maybe 6 or 7 cents a sale. Clearly you don't think BigStock is going to give contributors all of the big money.

At this price point BigStock may be the owner of these videos. Without owning them outright I don't see anyway they could sell video files for 15 cents. Maybe that is the direction stock is going????

Alamy.com / Re: What happen to Alamy
« on: November 09, 2014, 10:11 »
I got on the bad list at Alamy. Now all my images are rejected all the time. I was able to get 2000 images approved without much trouble in the first year.  Now not at all............Guess maybe in a year or so maybe i will be back on the good list.

Sorry to hear that- did you write them?

BB good idea . I just sent Alamy a note about my constant rejections. I have about 2000 images on Alamy that actually produce a good income each year . I hope they will start to accepting new images from me as that is the only way to keep my income fluid.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Sales on the up and up.
« on: November 05, 2014, 09:56 »
I just read on the forum at Stockfresh which is a very small site, that Andres Rodriguez is trying to delete his 30,000 images. Maybe he reads this post and will tell why he is trying to back out from a low tier group. For me Stockfresh is a site that just dose not sell any photos for me. I am not sure how they stay in business if sells are always truly low.

General Stock Discussion / Sales on the up and up.
« on: November 04, 2014, 13:14 »
Do you ever wonder if sales are on the up and up on lower tier international sites. This is why I ask. I am on a hand full of lower tier sites, some not located in the USA. I have thousands of images and few if any sales each year on these sites. Now at the top tier sites I get sells everyday.  Are these lower tier sites just this bad at sales or do you think they might hide sales.???

GLStock / Re: GL suspending uploads?
« on: October 28, 2014, 20:56 »
Yes i also just read this. Very strange to stop taking uploads. I must think they are in financial trouble. Make no sense unless you want to save money by not taking new uploads. I guess this will play out one way or the other in the next few months.

Just deleted my images at Stocktal.  May be premature but I feel warm and fuzzy about doing so.

There is something strange and not proper about this stocktal site. I have up-loaded about 100 images and think I will stop uploading for now.  I have sent them two request about what is their physical address in the world. They will not  respond to me where or what address they are located. Something smells to me about this site. Red flags are up when a site will not tell you where they are located. As far as I know they may be located in China or Iran..Their category selection on their site is clearly not made by an english speaking person...Just saying they need to be more transparent as a new site . ...............
