How can I cancel my subscription so it doesn't renew after a year? When I paid my first annual subscription it said in the terms and conditions that you can cancel your yearly membership fee at any time, but now I can't find where to do that. Do I have to close my credit card because of this? I hate these kinds of fees, which are secretly renewed after a year.
What do you get when you are premium membership? I ask you, because i don't have it. It is worth?

yes it is easily worth the 25 dollar or whatever it is, even if you sell one print per year, it is worth it. i sell one print a month or so, but each sale earns me between $50-200

dont drink the kool aid - he used to be a contributor but chose to turn to the dark side, knowing what agencies cook up to screw over contribs

is this worthy of reporting to local law enforcement? its pure theft or scam

Funny how things work sometimes, but just tonight (a Saturday night), I got an email notice of a 60% royalty payment from Pond 5 for one of my exclusive videos there.

That one payment is more than I've been getting from Adobe Stock in a couple of months.

So, hey, that quickly improved my attitude toward microstock. A lot!  :D

Pond 5 also stabbed contribs in the back, but i guess one good sale makes you forgive and forget very quickly then

Just joking, Mat is one of the good guys in this business!  :)

Without ever meeting Mat he seems like a very nice person and positive by nature... I very much enjoy and appreciate his presence on this forum.

... but do not forget he is still the Contributor Service Associate under employ for Adobe Stock and he too has his priorities and responsibilities like spinning this 'exciting' news off as rainbows and unicorns.

A few other agencies in the past did the very same thing with an almost cult like following. It works.

Trauma bonding 101.

he is a nasty back stabber as far as i know, during the whole dollar club fiasco with fotolia he was the one booting out fellow contribs for taking a stand, and he took that with him to adobe, and now he is happily defending another back stabbing event. make no mistake all these agency reps are rats, only working to increase their employers bottom line. ive been long enough in this business to know that they are literally all cut from the same tree

56
matt, since you have spent hours talking about this and you are monitoring the situation, can you give an example calculation of typical contributor with typical downloads for this new plan, so we can all see how this is going to benefit us, please, thanks.

not holding my breath for this one if you dont mind

57
bwahahahaaahahaaaaaaaa, there it is... and matt selling it as a good thing, no different from any of the other vultures

exciting news everyone !!!

their support is a mess and they are thick as a plank

they only reply when they feel to and if your request is somewhat difficult or they cannot do what you ask for they will simply ignore your email

faa is one of the most frustrating outfits to deal with, sean and abbie are the most stubborn people you,ll ever talk to

are you not getting sub sales?  my monthly direct sales are down > 50%  but, with the subs, overall payouts (every month) have been steady

i had a few subs when they first came out, since then nothing zilch nada

« on: March 28, 2021, 04:15 »
why accept something they already have a an overabundance of? and the buyer would have downloaded it from someone else, the agency wouldnt lose any money rejecting your stuff,

its a bit narcissistic thinking that without your bog standard clips the agency would lose out on sales

General Stock Discussion / Re: Are DepositPhotos in trouble?
« on: March 28, 2021, 04:11 »
"I thought it was just a glitch but, when someone else told me they had the same problem, I was a little worried."

why? why such catastrophic thinking? 2 people didnt get the payment confirmation email so the agency must be in financial trouble. if anything if more people would have the issue i would feel more reassured that its not just me and that it has to be a bug,

if they were on the brink of bankruptcy there would have been a lot more noise for a much longer time

ill say it one more time, ive gone from payout one a month/2months, to never seeing a payout again, i am down to 2 sales per month, so divide pay out threshold 100 dollar by about 78 cent, and thats how many months it will take to get paid again. canva probably lined their pockets by selling out to getty, but canva is dead for me. just not taking my images down, too much effort lol

63
Hahaha!  but you're right his port is terrible!

Be a man, like blvdone, and say it on the SS forum!  ;D

he cant hes banned for life

64
Joebenning!  No you got it wrong its not a matter of evil agencies. Its a matter of if you want to support a business that is going from bad to worse support a business who is surviving on the basis of robbing its suppliers.
You talk about supply and demand hahaha! that conclusion was on the agenda 10 years back but you wasn't here then.

Many people here you understand see their livelihood just fading away and see their portfolios of tens of thousands of images being virtually useless! not a pretty picture.
So to come here with lots of waffle and quasi philosophy isnt a good thing.

youve been calling quits at shutterstock since 2015 and you still have your portfolio with them https://www.shutterstock.com/g/attorney2

Thats right Pete!  but of course they will lure plenty of noobs to do this for dimes and cents and the poor sods will fall for it! not knowing that dayrate photography following layouts and briefs is min,  $1000 a day. In places like N.Y and London its double!

here he is, hello lagereek

67
it has to be volume because it is all a dime a dozen, nothing original in their port and blatantly 'stocky' photos

You lie down with dogs (Shutterstock) you are going to get fleas. My money is on a ShStock hack.

Well I expected a more serious answer than a personal hatred.
its not personal, she is like that in general, not a nice person

never was a big seller on canva with out about 300 photos, made 50 bucks a month or so, at least payout every 2 months, now i make 2 bucks a month, so pay out every 50 months. something doubled alright, but it wasnt $$$

Print on Demand Forum / Re: Fine Art America Payout
« on: November 25, 2020, 05:35 »
They pay every 15th of the month for sales from the prior month. I don't think there is any minimum as I was paid $2 one month when my only sale was a mask!

https://fineartamerica.com/faqlinks.html?id=2

only if the sale was prior to the 15th of the prior month, sales after the 15th of the prior month will be paid in the 2nd month after the sale

14 august sale - 15 september pay
16 august sale - 15 october pay

Adobe Stock / Re: Introducing the free collection from Adobe Stock
« on: November 11, 2020, 09:31 »

it wasnt free, you had to upload 300 new images and have them approved, adobe made money on the back of that, and creating 300 images is a hell of a lot of work

you seem to have trouble with the meaning of simple words like 'free' and 'limit' etc
first, please stop the ad hominem attacks on Matt you made earlier

you seem to have trouble with simple words too!! - there was NO CHARGE for the  bonus -- there was an incentive for uploads and a reward was given.  commonly done for all sorts of transactions -'buy 2 get one free', 'earn 1000 pts for a reward',etc
you have a problem with reading, i never said there was a charge, I said the bonus wasnt free, which it wasnt

currency conversion always have cost associated, its not just paypal, anyway, the only way to get around it is to set up a dollar account with your bank. but then you still have to pay conversion rates to your bank to get euros, could be slightly cheaper,

In my opinion this is way too many assets at way too high a quality level for a free collection. It would be one thing to offer a much smaller rotating collection of free content meant to showcase as many contributors as possible and actually highlight the paid content.  This just looks like giving up and saying even Adobe apparently can't/won't stand up to the Pixabay crowd.

This line from the FAQ is particularly tone deaf to me:

Why does Adobe Stock offer a free collection? Won't it directly compete with the paid collection?
There is a growing demand for free content.

So what? There are always people who want everything for free. There is a growing demand for free software too, will there be a rotating free app in Creative Cloud each year? Adobe's contributors are also it's customers, and it certainly feels like a slap in the face to people who've paid thousands of dollars for Adobe apps over many years.

I feel a little silly now for singing Adobe's praises so loudly over the last year, and sending all my clients there. I was so pleased with all the open communication, the Discord communities, the webinars, the time and patience Mat spends here answering questions....but a move like this from the last agency I can say I actually trusted is just exhausting and deeply disheartening.

I've patiently explained to people countless times the advantages of properly licensing images from a trusted agency over downloading from the free sites.  This just muddies the waters further for people who think all images should be free in the first place.

I'm really sorry you feel that way Amanda. I have no intention of lowering my threshold for contributor advocacy and will continue to answer as many questions as I can in as transparent a way possible here in MSG, in the Adobe Stock Contributor Discord channel, in the Adobe Stock contributor forum, in the webinars, my personal social media, frankly anywhere and everywhere people will listen to what I have to say. In other words, I respect your position and the opinions you have shared in your post and I will do everything I can to see to it your faith is restored and that you will again be singing the praises of Adobe soon.

I've seen a number of tongue-in-cheek comments here about Adobe giving away software. I would like to remind you that we have given away tens of thousands of complimentary subscriptions through the Adobe Stock contributor Bonus Progam over the past couple of years and that we are continuing the tradition again with the 2020 program. So to answer your specific question... yes, for productive contributors Adobe is giving away a free app each year. If qualified, you can choose which app you want so technically, that could be considered a rotating app should you want it to be. I'm not trying to make light of your point but rather am pointing out that we've put a lot of heart-felt effort into making sure contributors know how much they are appreciated and to do so, we are willing to make considerable investments.

On that note, there was another big announcement from Adobe Stock today. While the other offical announcement was in tandem with the free collection, I feel it warrants a separate thread and conversation and will be posting about it here shortly.

Thanks again for the feedback. It is important for us to hear.
