@MatHayward

Is there any download limit per day/week? Can someone download all 70.000 assets without any time limit if they want?

@theendup...yes, there is a download limit. For customers without a paid subscription or credits, they are limited to a maximum of 100 downloads per day. This number is subject to change as we gather more data on customer behavior.

Thanks for the question.

-Mat

thats not a download limit, just takes a bit more time to download 70k free images

Matt. Do you think it is a good sign that people only viewed and still didn't comment? Not good feeling really. The pattern is already known

I expect there to be questions and concerns from the contributors which is exactly why I started this conversation before the email went out. I know many people read the posts in this forum without commenting so to answer your specific question, I don't "view" that as a sign in any way.

I can assure you that I've been asking hard questions of the team and I genuinely believe this program has the potential to benefit contributors in several ways. I'll share a couple of key takeaways from my original questions here.

First, the contributors with content in the free collection were compensated in advance for their participation. While it's limited to select contributors now, we'll allow others to participate as time goes on. The content in the free collection will be rotating to keep it fresh and relevant. As content leaves the free collection, it returns to the paid collection.

Second, and I believe most importantly, if you browse the Adobe Stock free collection, you'll see that there are a lot of assets that cover a wide range of subjects, but no one particular subject has a deep selection to choose from. That is by design. When someone who typically only uses free sites visits Adobe Stock, they now have the opportunuity to see more search results beyond free. This is a potential customer base that was not visiting paid sites historically. The result should be an expanded market for paying customers.

I welcome your feedback and look forward to the conversation.

-Mat
stop talking from your behind man, you dont believe that at all, you just back your employer, you did that over the backs of your colleagues at Fotolia and now you are doing it again. a free image collection brings no benefit to anyone other than the customer, it just devalues the value of an image even further.

byron dont listen to rinder the old fool, he has no real interest in your portfolio all he wants to do is knock you down and trash all over you and he'lll come up with a 50 year old story how he's been around since the 1800s shooting with magnesium flashes etc and that he makes 100k for a single photo yet he is still here selling images for 10 cent on shutterstock. he still has over 7000 images there and adding which makes him a hypocrite as well.

no one is allowed a different opinion from the masses up here, if you have you'll get trashed, mocked, insulted and patronised, just see the comment from martha as an example and she is supposed to be a sweet old lady

To be fair, TrustPilot is untrustworthy.

it is not, because they remove fake reviews whenever detected, but you cannot stop them all. its one of the better review sites out there
You are entitled to your opinion, but I don't think it's very trustworthy that I was invited to write a review just by googling TrustPilot Shutterstock. How would they have 'detected' that I had never been a buyer if I'd written one?

Adobe Stock / Re: Does AdobeStock take 8k videos?
« on: July 30, 2020, 03:33 »
keep doing what your doing, i dont care, but if the agencies do not accept 8K then all it gets you is taking up space on your hdd. great business model though, spending time on something you cannot sell,

85
sue them, violation of copyright

or check the t and c and find out if there is something about images that have already gone into a sales process before they were deactivated

are you 12

stop speaking for everyone or for me, i dont need the money for the photos i am selling

LOL and yet you point out that your earnings have dropped 90%. If you dont care, why would you even know that? Come on, admit it, you just wanted to show me up, as usual. You clearly do care.  ;)

But I do agree with your next to last paragraph. I have always done the same. By the way, I deleted my images off of SS, did you?

So now all microstockers are lazy? LOL  Stop speaking for me and all other microstockers. Some of us do/did all those other things you mentioned, you have no clue. You arent the only smart one here.  ;)
LOL aha LOL well my earnings dropped to a point that it was easy to calculate it was about 90% LOL :) ROFL and i said micrstock is the laziest form of photography, LOL i didnt say i said photographers were lazy :) LOL and i put lazy between quotes because its not really lazy, LOL i though that would be clear :) RTOFL LOL

and i am not speaking for anyone LOL ;)))  LOL just sharing my opinion LOL just ignore me if you feel buthurt, LOL no hard feelings :)) LOL

Theyll be in touch if youve been accepted.

So, in this case, no news is definitely not good news.

Seems a very rude way to treat people. I'm not sure I'd even want to be accepted to an outfit that treats applicants so callously.

Reminiscent of SS and iS.
Offset is SS

Everyone SELLING photos needs the money they make; otherwise wed all just give our photos away. Which is basically what you do at SS now.

stop speaking for everyone or for me, i dont need the money for the photos i am selling, i am financially covered in many ways, however, my earnings have fallen 90% since 2012 because of all the changes made by the agencies

and people clinging on to microstock should have a hard look in the mirror, because in the end its the 'laziest' form of photography. shoot, process, upload. but there is a lot more than photography just for stock. and if you shoot great stock photos, you should be able to get assignments, freelance, do workshops, become a photography teacher, find a proper employer, or set up shop, and earn money that way.

i have never in my life stayed with an employer that abused me, conned me, treated me unfairly, i'd find another job and left. never seen people take 5-10-15 years of abuse from an employer, stop complaining and take control of your own destiny. and dont give me its easier said than done, just f*cking do it.

i think its time to change my username

If you believe in conspiracy theories - take a look at this thread.
Somehow I missed the response between the two last posts when I was screen grabbing.

Then "poof" the whole thread went missing. Gone from the group FB page.
Apparently, if you are the thread creator on FB, if you delete it all disappears.
Our "Facebook employee" took their own thread down when I called them out.

What do you guys make of this?
why black out the name? which group is this,?

Shutterstock goes to war against their own producer community in the middle of the corona pandemic and global recession cutting income of producers aggressively with just 6 days notice. Those who complained most about losing income abruptly got deleted from the platform

Seriously, which brilliant mind at HQ thought this would be a fantastic headline to be spread all over social media??

How will that grow their business?

It really is so sad. We have seen so many similar things before. Going to war against producers is simply bad for business. No company with a sane mind intentionally provokes a global online shitstorm.

The content can easily be moved elsewhere and the customers go where the content is. It takes a while, yes.

But why would producers support a company that treats them like this.

SS was such a great place. What happened? It feels like this is a completly different business.

Subscription now seems to be in Single And Others now

Kate Shutterstock answer:

"As you've noticed, most earnings are displaying in the Single & Other column. This is a display issue that we are working to resolve.

All your commissions are being calculated correctly, they are just displaying in the wrong category.

Thanks for your patience while we prepare a fix for this issue."
it is scary how much this sound like a reply from IS back in the day
