Does anyone know how to do this or what to change in the backed / files?

I have uploaded the files with just their regular file names that I use.  I would like for when a buyer downloads a photo for it to be renamed with the store name and title perhaps.  Anyone have a clue on if this is possible?

Could you provide a sample your regular file name and the new name / renamed file you want for your customers.

Thank you all extremely helpful  :).

I had asked the question and the reply I had received via email is mentioned above. Since I wasn't sure so thought of asking it on MSG  and turned out to be extremely helpful thank you all.

JSNOVER - I have a few images taken on the beach.  I saw a wonderful house nearby which was included in the image but I did not enter their premises and the model is the main subject in the images. Do I still need a property release?

Then help me correct it. Since you are an expert you can share some point

Whenever an image is used for editorial purpose and the person/property becomes the main subject a model/property release is must.

Are there any other points which can be added ?

Photo Critique / Re: Critique Request for Istock
« on: February 04, 2011, 10:51 »
Hello Tomeks89,

Image no.3 is great but again as informed in the earlier post " It should lead your eye to the benches not pull it back to the blur."

If you are planning to upload images to Istock I would recommend you to go through Istock's submission guidelines it provides detailed information. Also, do a bit of research on the type of images which are sellable.

Once the images are clicked you might (not saying you will) find some impurities in the images but then again you have image editing software's to help with color balancing and removing any odd object (If you feel there are any).

Hope this helps  :)

Thanks,
Punit

Hi Latex,

Microstock Photography Forum - General / General Stock Discussion / Re: What do you use for keywording

Lightroom has proved to be the simplest & fastest way to keyword images. Most of all if you plan to save time use Yuri's keywording tool and embed the keywords in lightroom.

Keywords should describe what is physically and prominently visible in the image. Try to avoid use of subjective words unless they are relevant to the image.

Always keep yourself in buyers shoes and think if you want to buy an image what keywords would you type to find an image. If you feel you would not use certain keywords avoid them. Hope this helps

Thanks,

Microstock Services / Re: Employing a photo retoucher

It completely depend on the services you are searching in the market. The price varies according to the work required on the images.

Retouching is usually complex and has different levels and it depends on your requirements. (Basic, Medium, Extensive, Glamour).

Now, if you are a stock contributor, Where are you planning to upload the images? since the standards vary for different stock agencies.

For stock contributors the work flow would not stop at retouching. KEYWORDING is also an essential part of the process. " The best image in the world cannot be sold if no one can find it." I read this somewhere and is absolutely correct since there are great images but they aren't sold due to lack of appropriate keywords or in other cases the images are rejected during quality check and never seen on stock sites.

Kindly send your queries on [email protected].

Thanks

Hi Anita,

Please check the canvas size in inches if it is more than 150 it will shows an insufficient memory error. I had the same issues then I decreased the canvas size to 100 or 120 inches and it worked. As far as your concern about the uncompressed file size been below 24 mb it completely depend on the illustration and the amount of effects used in it.

Thanks,
PM

Hope this could help

1) Access the card and open RAW's in Lightroom / Capture one (I prefer capture one its easier and most of all gives a consistent color tone to images, but again that is as per my convenience). Once selected color correct the images and save them as tiffs.

2) Create an action in Photoshop to save the images on a desired location in separate formats & folders called "TIFF & JPEG".

3) RETOUCH the images are per requirements and run the action so the images will automatically be saved in 2 formats and on a desired location.

4) Open JPEG folder in Lightroom and KEYWORD as per stock standards.

5) Upload the images and wait for the selection process to be completed. (DeepMeta has certainly proved to be extremely handy while uploading the images on Istock ).

Thanks

Critics are always welcome since they help to overcome and learn from mistakes.

I thank you all for the valuable advice. I have updated my site.

I am in a learning phase and these feedback's helped a lot to rectify the mistakes made by the marketing associate who used to send bulk emails.

I had a good laugh after I went through the email and I am happy that some of you also had an escape and had a laugh/smile after reading the email.  :) (Henceforth, I will ensure to read all the formats before they are published)

We do not plan to take any credits for photographers hard work. Hence, we seek their permission before we publish the images on the site. (All the images on the site are retouched by my team)
