What is your experience with the new Symbiostock? Ah I see you made a blog post about it (one year old) but I'm gonna read this first...

the some thing happened to me a few years ago, it was easy too proof but it took a couple of a days (I think about a week) till I got my portfolio online again. A couple of hundred dollars had been lost for me without my fault I did hope that the handle these kind of issues differently (not able to withdraw money but leave the portfolio online till the case is scrutinized) now but it's still the same

1.200.000 images of salad 2.700.000 of christmas
what surprises me is that people are still uploading images of salad or christmas...and thy still accept everything. in my opinion there are so many niche that still needs images cause if we analyze the photos 95% are copy of copy and similar subject.
The thing is the trending aesthetic keeps changing, both with food photography, lifestyle shots, graphic design etc. Im personally more in favour of automatically deleting files that havent sold in 5 or more years or something along the lines. Most of the uploaded stuff never sells. Im also for stricter limits on uploading huge batches of similar graphics/shots.
this is all correct BUT aesthetics doesn't change that fast we are talking about 50 million more pictures in less than two years! The sheer amount of pictures will bury you there is simply no way to build a sustainable business with these kind of figures it's like selling sand grain in the desert!

Deposhitphotos is the worst they are proven cheaters and liars, no sympathy for anyone still uploading there and whining about rejections.

@50% I am living in a country which is not all that wealthy at the moment, you might check the todays newspaper of Zimbabwe to learn more about...
read my post again I didn't say you live in a wealthy country, I do and couldn't afford a house here...

only the wealthy people cry...
Where I live people with a house and a garden are considered rich because it cost at very least 500.000, living in a rich country doesn't make you rich on a personal basis, the daily life is actually just harder because everything is so expensive. Having a house with a garden you should consider yourself wealthy!

Yeah Shutterstock seems to be in a free fall!
I usually don't bother commenting on the negative bs going on here, but.. really?! Shutterstock is not "in free fall". Contributor's individual earnings are under pressure because of the huge competition. Shutterstock itself is doing just fine.
of course I'm talking about my own twelve year statistic and my own individual earnings, and the gap from 2015 to 2016 is way more significant than compared to former years. I'm fully aware that SS is doing just fine but the TO talked about his/her individual earnings so do I and I have to agree that individual earnings are way down.

I used to buy music at iStock as I could pay with my credits but this is not possible anymore, at Shutterstock it seems that you can't pay with your earned money and they don't accept Paypal anyone knows another good place?

What is so great about 10-bit 4:2:2? Can someone offer an explanation or a link? I love th micro 3/4 system but still use it mostly for photography.
To be brief and easy, it keeps more information after compression so the footage (especially color) resists better during post-prod color correction. It is great for videographer/filmmaker but I don't think it is very important for stock especially micro-stock as many people don't color correct their footage or just lightly.
Thank you!

Very difficult to login it would not accept my Fotolia login, I created a new login and it recognised my email but asked for a capital letter for the login password. There seems to be a problem with using lowercase only, which is what my Fotolia password is, to say this is a problem from a major company like Adobe is an understatement.
Once I did login somehow after loads of rejections, I went to the Sales page and the download commission rates on the Adobe site are at a lower rate then on the Fotolia site, whats that all about?
I have asked them to fix it awaiting response, is anybody else having this problem?
I thought they were supposed to be synced.
Haha same here and you even get notice about the problem. Adobe s*cks and I will never buy into their software subscription If they pay 50% and stop image subscription I will rethink but really they could change the market for the better but they dropped the ball!
