VideoBlocks / Re: Weird rejection reason
« on: December 12, 2018, 01:00 »
VB has rejected a video of mine for 'poor post production.' The comments (presumably left by the reviewer) says that the footage is too short. What does post production quality have anything to do with the length of a video?? And I don't see any issues with the quality of the post production - the same clip was accepted by all the other stock sites that I submitted it to.

And I'm puzzled as to why it's considered too short. It's 10 seconds in length which is the same duration as some other clips that were previously accepted by VB. I can't see any minimum duration mentioned on the site's requirements for footage (only the maximum which is 3 minutes.)

Weird. I'll submit the video again and hope for the best.
Can you show us link to see it?

I guess Shutterstock is on the same path as IStock ... getting a lot of $1.50 to $2.00 sales commision for my 1080 and 4K video content. Maybe is time to pull the plug on Shutterstock.
Yap. Same here

You are absolutelly right in your arguments. I don't have such a large footage portfolio but my sales at P5 Adobe are already better (not in sales but in revenue) and Videohive and Videoblocks improving everyday. I never submitted videos to Istock because the low royalty and penny sales.

I am also monitoring Shutterstock closely and if I see that this sales begin to explode I will also give them the kiss of death. They are already not getting all of my footage. Some more unique footage stays at P5 with premium prices......
For now i stopped all my uploads for ss.
I just cant watch 1.50$ for some amazing footage from antarctica or from otger unique places. It makes my heart broken
Pond5 is my number one agency.
Storybloks has low sales since they changed the price from 49 to 79.
And video hive... well i am tired...

no one is holding a knife to your throat! You are free to do whatever you choose  8)
I know that. However its hard to remove 6 years of work.

Hello.
Recently I noticed that I had more than few sales when my earnings were only 1.50$ for video Footage.
When I started submitting to shutterstock you told me that I will earn 23.70$ for hd footage and 59$ for 4K.
In the past years I saw that most of my earnings were less than 23.70$ sometimes 15$ sometimes 8.21 and less. Now you broke a new record and gave me 1.50$ for footage video. This is outrageous!!!!
I cannot accept this kind of deal.
I prefer not to sell on shutterstock  if you will continue to sell my really hard work for 1.50$.
I don't want to participate in sales that my files are sold like a joke.
It took me hard work and years to achieve such a large portfolio with more than 10000 footages from all around the world.
I dont want to hear your reasons on why my files are being sold with 1.50$ (because I know them).
I want you to say that this kind of deals will never appear with my portfolio.
I have to say that I was so proud over the years to be a part of shuttersock community and now when I saw the reactions of other producers who are saying that they lost the trust on shutterstock when they get only 1.50$ for footages I can understand them completely.
I look at other agencies like POND5 and Storyblocks who I work with them also for years and they are paying 50% commission and they are listening to their producers and never ever will do such thing like selling without asking us with such al low price.
Even though it took me 6 years to add  10000 videos on shutterstock I really consider to remove my entire portfolio from your site.
Hope to hear from you as soon as possible.

Every sale i have on storyblocks (which became rare) i wait at least 3 days before i feel that i can enjoy from it.
