I do not want to show my portfolio for security reasons. I was mainly looking for help on how to contact Shutterstock

It will be difficult to find direct contact and suggestion if you don't give clues of what are we talking about. Security reasons... Mmm what are you talking about? If you ask for help you should clearly display the point (your portfolio).
If you don't, I think it would be hard to have useful answers from unknown people

Excellent chess move once again from Adobe to gain fidelity and respect from contributors. Thanks Adobe and thanks Mat for your work with us :)

...failure of Alamy to recognize an image that shouldn't have been available for commercial use
1. Alamy does not check for IP. It also does not control editorial/commercial use. These are the responsibility of the contributor

This is not completely true, I received in the past a couple of (very fair) mails to inform me that a bunch of my images was changed from commercial to editorial, due to contents.
So they check, maybe random, but they see

I've received today too, in good italian translation (my language of course) so it's legit I think.
I put it in my trash: prices are ridiculous for custom work request.

New Sites - General / Re: Wemark - Are they still alive?
« on: July 11, 2019, 07:29 »
Honestly, I think that guys deserved the chance to try.
For me it's better to support different approach instead of stay here saying how bad are agencies, and how fast race to the bottom is going.
Sorry for wemark but it was an interesting attempt IMHO

After reading billions of posts here with contributors telling that agency did not make their work refusing or ban users that send thousand of similar subject... Now Adobe is working on this, and many of you have to say that is not right???

Well I'm happy that agency is doing good job on content.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Deceased model
« on: July 03, 2019, 13:57 »
In a way, if I were to die prematurely, I would expect my family to keep all the stock photos I've taken up and keep earning money from them.

This Is good point.
Thinking about this bad event I wrote down a letter for two of my family related and gave them all necessary informations to gain acces to my photo stock accounts

June ended up a BME due to strong video sales.

Exactly the same for me. BME in 5 years

Is Alamy still worth it Melking?

Good question, 13 years later

iStockPhoto.com / Re: May sold pictures
« on: June 16, 2019, 02:25 »
You can see now in the app and esp which pictures were sold. No statement yet but since you can see how many are subs, getty and credits, you can make a wild guess :p. Good luck

I still cannot understand which ones are "good" 😁

...but, we were just told that video sales weren't capped. That's what Fairplay said. It only applies to selected image sellers

Exactly!
It's easy to understand that there is a special team, very well payed guys, who stay all the day checking contributors portfolios, and choosing
"this can be free / the other should be capped
And every ten days (I suppose) they have to check again.

Hard work. And it's very expensive for SS to maintain the cap system!
No need at all of people to do this sort of things.
They use this new sort of machines. What they call them?
Oh, yes, computers

It was a joke 😁 referred to the "selected sellers" cap 😁

Canva / Re: Canva - did I miss something?
« on: June 10, 2019, 14:53 »
Ok, thanks.
Will be interesting to see what kind of payment that leads to...

We should know this BEFORE to be Fair... Not waiting for surprise

Well I honestly have to say the opposite, I usually have a couple of clips sold in a month, but last three months it suddenly became 12 or more. Not great numbers but something has happened for sure. Only one sale was low value (3,15 us$])

I have around 1000 clips in my port, and no "premiere content" so... Let's see how long there will be this good way

Feature Two: Contributor of the week. We are now showcasing the top photo, vector and illustration contributors each week. This is a great way to see in real time what is actually trending in the market. I strongly recommend you check this out every week for motivation and inspiration.

It's interesting to see the top contributors images, but it could be more useful to have images ordered from best sellers.
Maybe I miss something, but if I look into any portfolio I cannot see a way to order images, is that right?
BUT: if the contributor has built collection(s), I can order images inside the collection. Not along entire portfolio.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Thanks

Well, waiting 5 or 10 days doesn't make any difference, do you usually sell a clip few days after reviewing?

Image Sleuth / Re: Etsy is the absolute worst
« on: May 15, 2019, 08:52 »
You say "Her" but as they are obviously giving false information it could be anyone (male or female). They give their location as NYC in one place and the UK in some of their counter notices. I very much doubt the name they are providing is real either. When Etsy doesn't give a s**t on this level there's not much that can be done. It's like trying to get one of the old Warez sites to take action in the early 2000s.

Do you have Etsy shop?
I have, and for sure that what you're saying about owners id is not real: it's required to know valid credit card and real bank info with real name to be payed. So Etsy for sure knows exactly the real person behind every shop, despite of nickname

243
Hi,
it's really interesting, and I'm starting to test.

Can you explain how do you store username and password for all stock sites?
Your interface will gain access to large number of agencies and accounts, so all infos should be secured at the best.

Thanks

Very interesting, thanks Mat :)
also time is good in Europe (late night)

Pond5 / Re: Letter to pond5 and quick Poll for contributors
« on: March 26, 2019, 17:39 »
I'm newbie to this market, only 4 years of experience,  but would like to give my thoughts

Any exclusive content has a reason to be exclusive only if it is really unique, no other reasons.
As the video stock market is full of content in quite any niches I strongly doubt that going exclusive could give a real advantage for single contributor.
I work as content manager for commercial television and  in my company (medium national company) the exclusive content is really high value considered only for few top projects. This market is really specific.

I sincerely doubt that exclusive could be a great value in stock market. I could understand if pond5 or any agency should promote selected high value contents giving more to authors (ss with offset, as with premium do that). At the contrary, cutting royalties for contributors will never be a good answer to market.
Let's see

246
Well, I stay with them from four years. Just few sales but good and fair price.
I've also just sold an high price adv license, so...

They are alive for me and, regardless very low number of sale, their value is higher than most middle and low earners agency.

Also, after the alamy and pond5 cut, they are the only together with eyeem giving 50% to contributors so they should be supported and incouraged from my point of view.

247
Sold, no more for sale

Thanks

Recent (Feb 18) interview with Stephanie Sitt...

Dear JoAnn I think you could be really good Company stock manager instead of stock producer, you're always deeply informed about the market :-)

General - Stock Video / Re: Pond5 removing 4k pricing
« on: February 07, 2019, 14:10 »
Well, I've just checked my online files.
For sure something has happened: not only 4K but it seems that almost all my clips has been repriced to different levels, sometimes with just 0,50$ less than price I've set

What's...  ???
Are they started a new model in which they judge the right price for every single clip?
I don't understand, really...
