I started to make videos 3 years ago. No regret so far. At least no (easy) theft, no (problematic) large previews, no V1, no V2..

Will it solve 100% of the problem on 100% of everyone's images? No. But they have certainly made an effort. If someone is still not pleased with the outcome, the only thing left to do is to delete your portfolio. Bottom line.  ;)

😯

Is it really something about to be happy or upset?

V3 would be easier and safer for us and SS 😉

The dark gray bar at the bottom in V2 can easily be cropped. I think, V2 brings maybe %20 improvement at max. Or am I missing something?!

Also subject wise diversification is very important. Different subjects sell in different times of the year. Spring photos will likely to sell more during winter whereas Christmas will sell during fall. To be able to get consistent sale numbers throughout the year one should have a portfolio consist of main subjects in the main agencies.

Your image must have had a better place in Fotolia than it had in SS with the given keywords >> Customers tend do choose among the first couple of pages when they search for a subject.

What determines a good placement in the search? 1) Keywords 2) Search engine formula 3) Luck!

Whenever I have an image somehow manages to have a foothole in a good place I prefer not to send any similar ones to keep the first one's position.

Thanks for the examples. I think these photos have low commercial value. Even if accepted they will not be able generate more than a couple of downloads. My 8 years experience in the industry tells me that, sorry. Rejection reason should have been "low commercial value". But on the other hand they are accepting similar images everyday and you are right to demand consistency...Anyway, to get a higher acceptancy rate, for less headaches, try to use unusual angles such as low, high, close-up etc.

Same for me for sales and reviews.

The images in which the background is an important part of the image (ie landscapes with sky) it is okay. But for the isolated on whites with a little bit texture on the subjects, with textures, with patterns, the current system is ineffective. It needs to be at least black.

I thought that similars policy was over/eased?! When some rivals started to accept almost everthing, this is nonsense. This doesn't offset the extra dollars coming because of the image levels system, I think.

Is there anyone who has sent a claim?
 :-\

I emailed support to tell them I've stopped uploading until they fix it. I wasn't happy with their answer, that it only affects a small subset of images. We've all easily found many images where the watermark is invisible.

Even say if 1000 images is affected, this is no excuse!

For my texture/pattern images, I hardly see any watermark! This is very bad. Watermark must be stronger. I don't understand how they can't see this?..Unbelievable!...

I upload footage via ftp one by one. Roughly one of every three attemps is fast, two is very slow.

I can classify my photographs in 2 categories: 1-Stock oriented, 2-Art/Creativity oriented. Most of my artsy images will not sell in Microstock agencies and only a few of my microstock bestsellers can be exhibited in an art gallery. In Microstock "business", subject, composition and technics are the most important things you should consider, whereas for the other stuff you just shoot for the sake of art, I believe..

According to the data on the SS mainpage; on June 6, 2014 weekly image additions were 252.177. This week that figure is 545.406. More than doubled in 16 months!

I am in the same situation. Plus; my new uploads have been sitting in the ftp folder for the last 5 days  :(

BTW I now realised that this is a historical thread. So the price is too. :)

I am using a Hero 4 Silver. I believe 3 Black will be fine for stock under good lighting conditions but will be visibily noisy in low light/night. For action/underwater, a little bir noise may be acceptable as far as I see.

Please check if it has protune or not. Without protune sharpness is a little bit high.

Also consider timelapse. You will be able to make high quality 4K time lapses with it.

But of course buying a Hero 4 from abroad for the same price would be best for you.

How many keywords you use for one image and how relevant are they?

I am an old but small player (7 years ~ 1100 files). In my case it didn't worth for the extra effort.

It will just take longer. Your new images need to be better placed in the search and this will take some time. Some of my 7 years old images are still being sold better than my new (and technically better) images in the same subjects. Search place is everthing and in the past it was easier to find a foothold with less crowd.

I have a question and Sony RX10 II 1824x1026 240fps if I could enlarge up to 1920x1080? Is this is also a scam?

Max %5 upsizing would't be noticable if done properly. From time to time I had to do it, to make the frame look better (first zoom then up in Premiere Elements).
