Pond5 / Re: Pond5 sales picking up in March 2024
« on: April 11, 2024, 16:43 »
Video sales for April:
Pond 5: 2 sales: 255$
SS: 14 sales: 62$
AS: 7 sales: 68$
Videohive: 1 sale: 9$

That's nice on Pond5!!  What your portfolio size?

Around 3800 clips, 800 are exclusive. Had 2 sales only: 1 exclusive for 179$, the rest for a non exclusive clip.

Have you received your February payment?

Yes, a week ago.

Sales are random at P5, but this year it's somehow stable: Jan 7 sales, Feb 7 sales, March till now 5 sales.

5
A good month, no negative sales here...

6

Yes, I was surprised as it's Monday the 18th and about the right time for processing.

Hehe, stock agencies will always let you down whenever you expect anything from them.

7
I have 3 0.37$ sales today, and 5 yesterday. Looking further, no 0.38$ since 22 Feb, since that day I have a lot of 0.36 and 0.37$ sales. But besides those, I have a lot of 0.25 and 0.26$ sales due to 30% tax withhold on US sales (I can't tell about the higher priced sales), and I have such huge deductions of my stock sales everywhere. The hardest one is on Storyblocks, which is 30% on everything. So, imagine that statement from Storybolcks: Pretax total: 1000$, net total: 700$.
I have such numbers everywhere, all the time :(.

8
I have the same pattern:
January RPD: 0.88
Feb RPD: 0.59

9
are anybody recieve payment from shutterstock this month?
usualy 3-5 of the month
but this month no letters no money

Nothing yet, not even the payment e-mail... Maybe another glitch...

January was my BME on AS, mainly Ai images + average video sales.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Income from AI Generative stock

Just curious how people are doing selling AI stock. I've been playing around in MidJourney, having fun, considering trying to sell AI stock but wondering if I've already missed the boat? Are there already so many AI images available that it's not worth the time?

No, you didn't miss the boat. Newly created Ai images do sell well.

Adobe Stock / Re: I can't find my approved images on Adobestock

Ive no idea how to switch regions (or what region I'm currently set to) but I just did a test. I searched for three of my photos and I found them without any issues.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page, you'll find it at the left of the black bar.

I just tried to search for "Beirut" (the capital city of Lebanon) in videos, using US as a region: 1583 results. Switching to Lebanon as a region: 5 results!
So, imagine that: if you are logging AS from Lebanon as a region you will find 5 videos for your own capital, while if you login from US you will find 1583 results!

Many users complained in the past that the search results are completely different depending on the region you use to access the AS site...
Are these the same people who complain about the rejection of their artificial automatic "creations"?
Why not be satisfied, since it might make sense here, that previously unseen images can finally sell. That algorithms are not inclined to always return the eternal best sellers may be good news. And I know what I'm talking about because I have many images that stand out at the top of hundreds of thousands on different themes, for many years. But my best images are recent, and have difficulties emerging from the millions of dung that make them invisible.

No, these are people who see much fewer results of certain topic if they access AS site form a certain region. Anyway, it's been a long time (maybe a year?) since the last complaint here. If I remember right, a contributor from Egypt or Saudi Arabia couldn't see his images that were about Egypt or Saudi Arabia if he accesses AS using his region(!), but could see his images if he uses US as a region, this definitely may impact his sales badly.
By the way, I tried that myself in the past, and the difference was huge in the number of results for the same topic if I access the site using 2 different regions.

Adobe Stock / Re: Adobe Stock Review Time
« on: January 25, 2024, 15:45 »
These days, most Ai images are reviewed within a week only (some within one day).

16
I confirm, they do that.

17
I rarely have under 1$ video sales on SS, this year I have 18 sales, 11 of them are between 1$ and 2$.

18
I still end my Adobestock title and keywords with "Generative AI." Given that every image is now listed with an AI warning and we tick an AI box, is it still neccesary to end the title and Keywords with the words Generative AI in Adobestock??

You don't' have to do that anymore, Mat stated that here in a separate post.

So far for video $152.00 without December

So far 470$ from 349 videos: not bad...

If you dont mind me asking, how long have you had your portfolio earning on istock for?
1 Year only, I just uploaded these videos and hadn't time to upload more, it was a very busy year for me.
6 years ago, I had an exclusive account at Getty, it didn't last long as I've canceled it as soon as I started getting these very low video sales.

General Stock Discussion / Re: pond5 sales jumped off a cliff?
« on: December 26, 2023, 23:48 »
A new low for Adobe with two videos selling for a commission of $2.66 each. Never had lower than $2.80 before.

When a $2.80 video is sold to a US customer, 5% withholding tax is deducted, making it $2.66.

In my case, I have 1.96 video sales at AS (2.8 - 30% withholding tax ::))

New Sites - General / Re: Videvo

So, upload videos to Videvo?  8)

Hehe, actually I'll most likely subscribe to the site, I produce a lot of documentaries and I need a lot of such editorial clips, as there is no editorials at envato elements, while Storyblocks doesn't have the mentioned editorial collections.

Wow, the site has Rick Ray's collection, it's a huge editorial collection that worth millions, and you can download it for pennies:

The same for the BlaxBoxGuild collection:

if you click on the clip it brings you to istock site.....so those are clips that istock sells through videvo....

No, in my case it leads to Vivedo's subscription page, as it is a "Premium" download, just like Freepik, their owner.
